    Thanks for all this series! Just bought a 2000 TJ for my 13 year old to learn to drive with and have when he turns 16. We are tackling a lot of these projects! Look forward to seeing more!

      Thanks for watching! Your comment inspired me to realize just how many projects I've posted (yikes!) and I've created some smaller playlists to group them together in case folks find that useful.
      Good luck with your own projects and putting together an awesome rig for your son.

    I did the complete rear suspension on my 1997. Then... an electrical problem showed it's head.

      @CarbonsDIYGarage yeah I have it narrowed down to coil, crankshaft sensor, pcm or bad wiring. Cleaned the engine compartment yesterday to see what was what.

    What size are the bushings on a 99 tj ? 13mm ?

      According to the 1997 - 1999 TJ Parts List, the 1999 and 1997 use the same rear bushings.
      It's Mopar part number 52088125 and the parts list (Figure 017-210) says it's 14.5mm. Link to the ones I used is in the video description.
      Thanks for watching, Trig.

      @@trig5010 The parts list says 97 and 99 use the same rear bushings. The ones I installed fit great and have not been a problem at all. My thought would be to go with those.

      Sorry to bother 😊 but I can't find that part number for a bushings kit, that number came back for 1 large bushing. Thanks again

    Did you notice a difference in amount of sway after doing this?

    • @CarbonsDIYGarage
      @CarbonsDIYGarage  Рік тому

      I don’t think just doing the sway bar bushings and links did much. But in my bigger goal of replacing the whole suspension, it was a part of the puzzle. Between the sway bar links, bushings, control arms, and suspension, in front and back, it did tighten up quite a bit and is much less “fighty.”
      Overall, I had been hoping that I would get the stability like I have in my JKU. I realize now, that was an unrealistic goal. It’s a small, light vehicle and it’ll bounce around. But at least now it doesn’t feel like the tub is going to go in a different direction than the frame.
      Thanks for watching, Matt.
