Best channel ever - we truly appreciate you nerds continuing to crush year after year.
Great video. Very informative. Loved how you weren't pushing the most expensive product and gave us alternatives to try. I enjoyed this video and appreciated the content.
Thank you!
Great video. I have become a huge fan if ultra light fishing lately. Keep it simple and Enjoy
Nice video! Some good information as well! Thanks guys!
Great information great video high value and fun to watch thanks
Love the colours on the rod 👍
Great tips thank you
I was waiting for BFS bait casters and rod. Love them!
That sling is sick definitely gunna invest in that waterproof bag
Picked up a
Dakine Misson fishin hip pack love it
Great value
Awesome!! Now I need a telescopic version... haha
Great Video! I have the MB AAA rod on pre order. Love the looks of it! , you guys did well. Pairing it with a Fuego. Great information! Thanks Paul!
Can’t wait for you to get it!!
Any idea when it’s supposed to arrive? Still shows as pre order
@@rubeninocencio2702 they’re shipping right now, already delivering!
@@paulglass7268 ok because on the site it’s still a pre order
@@rubeninocencio2702 yup, totally understand, you can see folks are getting there’s on our IG page
I use a 5 compartment Plano box. 3 rooster tails, 6 jigs (3 n 3 colors) with 6 jig hooks. one rooster tail on the pole when I walk in. No need for all the extra gear like I’m riding on a boat. Just bought a Daiwa presso travel rod 5’6” with a Daiwa exceler 1000 reel. Can’t wait to get out and fish the streams with it!
Great video ! You guys have to come to Costa Rica !
Great video 🔥🔥👍
Thanks!
Thanks!
Can't wait for my rod to get here... also spring. I just got a new Okuma Ceymar HD 1000 and some new high viz braid.
Yeeeessss
🙌
14:48 so glad you finally called it what it is lol. When I first heard “lumbar bag” I thought 🤦🏻♂️ it’s always gonna be a fanny pack no matter what folks now a days try and rename them 😆 I’m guessing y’all are my age or around it lol. We grew up on the Fanny Pack
I’m definitely gonna snag that Plano thin terminal. I’ve got the bigger one for my bass fishing terminal and really like it so far.
Almost went with booty sack but I didn’t think that would land right
@@paulglass7268 😆😆
Spro has a fantastic box for ultra lite fishing. Not for hard baits but all the small hooks and weights.
I’ll check it out
I agree. Their medium sized terminal box works great for ultra light and if you are going ultra minimalist, you could use their small box.
Thanks for the videos!! Make a BFS rod with the same colors, components and style as that spinning rod!! That rod looks awesome and would be sweet as a BFS rod!!
We’ve heard that a bunch, had to start somewhere!
@@paulglass7268 glad I’m not the only one 🤣
Gonna be pairing my AAA Rod with a 1000 size Okuma ITX-CB. Going to be a beast!
Chyeah!!
🙌
I have fallen in love with the FHF gear chest rigs for my ultralight bag set up. Sometimes I use as a chest rig but also have the shoulder strap depending on what I’m doing depends on how I carry it. They also have tons of options on ways to customize them with MOLLE attachment and Velcro on the inside.
That hook wallet looks like what I used to keep my pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards in as a kid
I used to fish with ultralight 5-5 inch two piece rods back in the day. I could easily put it in a backpack and ride my bike around Denver and hit a bunch of ponds
But onto ice fishing.....
Is there any scenario where you would go straight braid to the bait? Just wondering.
Not for UL.
When can we expect the BFS casting rods from you guys? I'd love to pick one up.
Unfortunately never at this point because we aren’t working with a rod company
My holiday bonus came in early so I went ahead and ordered the rod. I was worried it would sell out before I could order one. Currently I'll be pairing it with a 1000 size Pflueger President.
Nice! Thanks!
Any thoughts on a NASCI 2500 with a large diameter (shallow) spool? Will that fit on your rod? I have one coming from Japan for ultralight fishing, and I like the looks of your UL rod.
It'll fit on the rod, but would be off balance. We prefer a 500-1000 size reel. It's a great reel though!
@@aaanglers Many Japanese Domestic Market reels the difference between the 1000 and 2000 size reels is mainly ONLY in the spool with the 2000 size generally having a bit wider and larger diameter spool core which results in less "coiling" of the line, a shallower wider better casting spool that does not waste a ton of line that will never be used for fishing only as a backing line on the spool as most American market reels do.
The actual physical reel size of the JDM 1000 and 2000 size reels is pretty much identical.
Also the actual weight of say one popular JDM Diawa spinning reel model that I checked the 1000 and 2000 size model is exactly the same at 175g or 6.17 oz. so going to a 2000 size would not change the rods balance over a 1000 size at all.
I do agree the 2500 size though is too large for a true ultra light set up.
When you get to looking at the more popular models of top brands like Diawa and Shimano in the JDM products they no longer even list any 500 size models for many of their reel models as the drawbacks to the 500 size reels outweigh the slightly smaller size of them greatly as compared to the 1000 and 2000 sizes.
When it comes to ultralight fishing gear the Japanese market is much more advanced and specialized in the product offerings than what is offered here in the U.S.A.
Most people that actually go to and try the more shallow/wider spool JDM reels for ultra light never look back and shop for the American market ultralight reels again.
You mentioned Mule fishing plastics at the beginning… he loves testing UL rods on his channel, Fish Anything. Does he have one of these yet?
A rod? Not yet! We love that guy!
Where did you get the owner hook wallet from.
Amazon
Snagged the Shimano Curado 6'10" L BFS rod an SLX BFS reel, but fishing little heavier weight(1/8), 10 lb braid to 6 lb Sunline. Micro jigs, T rigs and BFS topwater.
Anyone else not only specifically go BFS when out on the bank? I'll always be a backpack guy because im bringing my BFS, my medium crankbait rod, and either a medium heavy or a medium spinning rod. Very rarely do i just leave with BFS. Some days the BFS is hitting but other days its 1/2oz jig heads and crankbait/jerkbait vibes. Its 50lb backpack life for me. Too many times i've been out on the water and been like "DAM! I knew i shouldve brough that 3600/3700 with my ___ in it"
How much is shipping on the AAA rod?
Unfortunately it’s standard Monsterbass rod shipping cost around $25
I didn’t see the rod on their website. Are they out of stock? Thank you!
They have run out of stock and will not be restocking unfortunately
@@aaanglerssorry to hear that. It looks really nice.
I’m ready to drop some cash on this rod when it’s available, my lack of patience won’t let me pre-order anything 😂
They hit the warehouse this week
Agree with you Coty about pre-orders however there was a bit of a sale a week ago and that nudged me to buy a bit more than I expected!
Link for rod said page not found...😢
They sold out
Are guys ever going to release a 2 piece 🤔
Not at this point
No…
That's the whole reason why I used to fish with short rods. They were more packable. I still own maybe three one piece rods for musky.
NGL for tackle boxes I use old mint tins and fly boxes
Preorder your guys ul rod so PYSCHED!!!! 🎣
YESSSS
This is the longest product ad ive ever seen
Obviously you do not watch any pro fishing, tournament fishing, sponsored UA-cam channels or product showcases. Liking something and talking about it and getting paid to make a commercial are 2 different things. Not sure what you expected.
Liked the rod till I saw the chartreuse tip.
Y tho
I agree, not feeling the tip. It's personal preference, of course, but I feel it makes a very nice rod look cheap.
Chartreuse tip is a bit iffy. Vertical jigging it would be awesome for those
I'm so confused on that as negative. I stumbled across this video in an ironic way. While UL shopping today I wondered why more rods arnt in HiVis colors. It makes since while fishing for such light taps from Pearch trout etc
@@RileyReneau if you watch the rod tip for bites and you like a hiviz tip it’s not a negative, but I don’t know anyone besides live bait soakers that set their rod down and wait for the bite who would fish like that. I fish moving baits and jigs and only feel for the bite, no matter how light a decent rod will transmit the bite to you.
In my opinion $50 is a little expensive for an entry-level/beginner reel especially if you don’t know if ultralight is for you or not. I recommend the Lews Lite speed ultra lite it’s only 25$ and over the years I’ve acquired more expensive reels but still find myself pairing it up on my favorite rod
👍🏼
The Wally Marshall version of that reel for 10$ more has a smoother drag and the gold accent make it a little more bougie 🤣
👍
I've been rocking the Shakespeare Micro Series Spinning Fishing Rod from wally world. Only $20 and I love it.
@@repairdriveSame here. I have 3 7' and a 6'10". They are great for the price, I use them for rooster tails and swimbaits.
I wish the rod were out already!!!! Ugh!
Our rod is out!
@@aaanglers that’s weird. I just went to the MONSTERBASS site again and clicked on the rod but shows only preorder only
Using something for its intended purpose is not a hack.
Tenkara cards for ultralight leaders in bass fishing… also, let me introduce you to UA-cam, a place where cattchy titles are required for a video to get views. Most items in this vid are not as well known or widely used for these applications
This is not a video of hacks this is a commercial for your products. Bad bad bad!!!! If you think I’m wrong count how many minutes you talk about your products and put it against the “hacks” you talk about.
Bad bad bad! Had me rolling lol. There are hacks. None of these products are “ours” we aren’t sponsored. So we can talk about what we want. I didn’t know there was a ratio we were supposed to abide by 😂
I tend to be the kitchen sink kinda guy so I guess its time to buy some more stuff Thanks Paul and Jeff for all your guys insight on the latest and best ways to be efficient on the water. I cant wait to get my 2 ultralights the suspense is killing me, even though they prolly wont get used till spring!
I know the feeling! You’ll love the rods though!
🤙
I'm dreaming of a casting version of this rod, maybe 3 inches longer, paired with the black flight feather reel and an @georgedlc A-rig. $5 says you could triple up on crappie regularly.
🙌
I’ll be owning one of the monster bass rods. Creekfishingadventures let me check out the one he has and that thing is 🔥🔥🔥
Yeahhhh!!
Nice, thanks!
