just my two cents to any of you who care not to get injured. Do not try to stand up and try the technique he shows on 1.24. My mcl was blow to smithereens after i tried that. the kinesiology in this position is not correct. never stand up on a position where he can push your knee on the inside.
HermesDo that’s why your knee needs to point to the outside. I use this all the time and if they point your knee to the inside then you need to roll with the attack.
HermesDo if you stay standing and don’t do the rest of the technique, yes you could be injured (if you don’t tap) but if you do that, then you’re not doing the technique as demonstrated. And doing the technique improperly can lead to injury.
JM Modern Jiu Jitsu what you are stating makes no sense. The opponent entangles both of his legs on one of your legs. No matter how much you try to keep the knee outside he will be able to outpower you. I do this technique all the time from 5050 but then he can only open your knee due to the kinesiology. I highly doubt you do it all the time. Especially with experienced opponents
If you stand while the opponent is reaping your knee, you are safe so long as his legs don't hook under your free leg. If he is able to hook under your free leg as you stand, you will have to rotate with the position as there is a lateral kneebar pressure applied at that point. JM Modern is explaining what you would do in the event that your opponent is NOT hooking your far leg. I hope that clears up some of the misconception. I believe, in my experience, that standing on a reaped leg is safe if you prevent the leverage of the far side leg hook, therefore, I believe this technique to be valid, with that clarification.
I do not think such techniques are very effective. There is no guarantee that your opponent will wait for you to escape, most likely he will try to finish the submission even faster. Leg locks are very dangerous, it is better to tap, then to make doubtful escapes from them. Be careful both when you make submissions and when you try to escape from them. There is no reason to tramautize each other.
BJJ Revolution BR The opponent on video was waiting for the escapes. Not every person will behave himself by watching my moves to get free from his leg locks. I must admit, that it is very dangerous, if the opponent will finish his move before the attempt of escaping man. Though it is possible to get free from them, I just appeal to foresight of people not to traumatize each other. I was injured by leg lock, my knee hurt more, than a year. It is better to tap and be able to train after, than to get hurt and miss trainings during months or (God forbid!) to become an invalid. Brazilian jiu jitsu submissions and chokes are very dangerous not only for health, but for life actually, we must be careful both in trainings and in competitions. I thank you for your lessons, because some techiques of them I could perform in my trainings. And I shall definitely try to perform others. But some moves on the video still seem dangerous to me.
Александр Пак You're welcome to train however you see fit. However you have a huge glaring weakness in your grappling. You need to know how to escape and when to tap. I have escaped many leg locks.
all of these moves are legit.. these are what I use as well.. And seeing this confirms that other people are successful with them.. Thanks for posting the video bro..good sh-t.. maybe you can post your 50/50 defense so i can check that?
I love it. I'm still laughing about that last question.... "Can you just grab and pull?". Yes you can, after I break your fucking leg good sir.
beautiful technique, just the details I needed.
these escapes work great
Just added something to my arsenal. Thanks for posting your knowledge my dude!

HermesDo the 50/50 and this position are completely different. However if you choose to disagree that’s totally your prerogative

What if your attacker is standing and you are sitting
