Od is definitely a good career choice. You can work your way up to just about any position. I really mean it, there have been guys who started on the dock and have become operation mangers. The 401k is ok I think they march around 5%. The benefits I good cant really tell much about those because dont have kids and i only use them to get a tooth pulled, but they a few different plans. If you are a dockworker or driver be prepared to work around 50 to 60 hours every week. They over time sucks because most OD siteS don't pay over time until after 60 hours. mangers work 8 hours. Most dock supervisors and dispatchers work 12 hour shits but it's 1 week on and 1 week off pretty nice, but some terminals are different.
They say linehaul drivers at OD make $98 a year is this true? How is the scheduling and do you get an assigned tractor? Does it ever get slow to the point where they have no work? I see they have openings in San Antonio for mileage linehaul drivers. Just wondering if it’s worth it to work here. Great video.
Over a 100k easily. You come in as a extra board driver, meaning you don't have a set run or an assigned truck. They call you every 8 to 10 hours to give your route. You get a 34 reset and start all over again. You can ask for a day off if you want to be off a full two days. After a year or two, you should have a bid run with an assigned tuck, depending on how many people quit, ge fired, retire, or how many new runs they add. They will have your rank number in break to see how far you down on the extra board. Then you can start bidding on runs when you reach the top
I wish xpo was this easy, your basically expected to be a dock worker and a driver. Drive 3-4 hours work the dock 4 or 5 then 3-4 hours back. I haven't taken a 30 one time, once I finish my 2 year commitment my sights are set on old Dominion or saia maybe even sooner

I think around $25 but I depends on the city that you live in.
@@kris1987ful oh ok thanks I’m in michigan
Hey bro I really like your video mind If I ask where you got the music? I drive for Xpo and want to make a video like this but i’d cut out the the 7 hours i spend on the dock every night 😂
I just downloaded it off the internet or you can send it from your phone
Spent 20 years working for od.They was a good company.
How many hours you work in a day
It's based on your run. That's was a 10hr run. 5 there a 5 back. So about 11 hrs all together. Hooking up 30min break then unhooking and fuel.
So do you line haul drivers work everyday ?
Yea
Man I hope you realize how lucky you are lol. If I could land a line haul job at an OD hub, I would never leave!
Well I quit in November. I put a 2 week notice in so I could always come back. Not that hard to get in either
TaylorMade You go to another company or get out of driving?
@@AustinL150 no. I day trader for two hours a day at home. I have about three vids on my channel of me trading. Trying to get where I'm making 2 or 3k a day
@Jesse Carte you only pay federal tax not state taxs
@@kris1987ful nice! How did you get started trading? Who did you learn from?
Is six figures possible at old Dominion?
Easily. I made 6 figures. Especially in Dallas, they have some huge runs
I make approximately $125 a year. Got a good run in ATL
It’s so slow at my terminal line haul slow city drivers only working 40 hours a week
GREAT VIDEO MAN & GOOD JOB!
Appreciate the insight on OD.. Been thinking of applying, would you recommend OD for a career & would you be kind & let me know about there health benefits, 401K, Pay & training?
Appreciate it & thank you man.
Keep up the good work! 💪
@@kris1987ful Thanks for the response bruh appreciate it 👊🏽
i was out of the university campus terminal in Norfolk VA, when i drove for them 😸
They say linehaul drivers at OD make $98 a year is this true?
@@kris1987ful thanks appreciate the info
Are those old dominion trucks automatic?
They might have some but I've always driven the stick shift
95% manuel
they only buy manuals in all the big trucks the only automatics are the box trucks and the small city trucks
😆no gloves! How you do it bro ?
I always lose them so I have sanitation wipes in my back pack.
I completely understand, AAA Cooper was the same way.
@@kris1987ful yeah both of them are bottom of the barrel when It comes to the ltl game so Is central transport. Old Dominion really is the top dog ltl carrier to work for and to use as a customer. I work for another ltl but I know who id call if I needed ltl service
Lol speaking of central that's where I'm at now. I quit O.D at the end of 2019 right before covid hit 🤣. I didn't want to go right back to o.d so I came here. I'll save o.d for when I'm in my 40s. Its a 100k a year job I can go back to.
@@kris1987ful do u like central?..is it good money??
@@orlandoecholes4762 it's OK. Nothing special making about 1400 after taxes. The trailers are garbage, everything seems to be broke on a lot of them. But the tractors are good. It's just a job I got because of the virus. Didn't want to go somewhere that I didn't want to quit.
Trucking and meek millz ….can’t get any better 💯💴
Aye bro whats rhe experience needed
1 year of cdl driving and you have to get your endorsements, tankers, doubles and triples, and hazmat. But you don't need experience with the endorsement
@@kris1987ful olay thanks bro i will get on top of that
How long was that run
about 9 1/2 hours
As a truck driver , when hooking / unhooking, must use gloves . Keep inside tractor grease free.
I keep losing gloves so I keep sanitation wipes in my backpack
That was my thoughts exactly. Great video otherwise. Been with OD for 15 years now.
haha the coins when he closes the door
Im at OD to GBO terminal
Does Old Dominion have heat,, air conditioning,Radio stereo? Anyone anyone
Meek mill beat in the background so tuff 🙏🏾 I need them to call me back I got 5plus years experience and all my endorsements
You spent more time setting up cameras than what it would have taken to do the flip.
Can u listen to music or listen to the news on your phone while u drive? And are the cameras facing the driver?
Yes you can listen to whatever you. No cameras facing driver and only cut when you slam on breaks really hard
Damn I feel lazy. Our company city drivers build our sets. I'm coming to OD. Yall definitely hiring.
😅
Are you at AAA Cooper
bruh love the song.
Zoom zooms and wham whams lol 😂. I like that, it's what I'm gonna start calling my "nick-naks".
you could use some gloves right?
I've been with Conway/XPO logistics for 28 years.Applied at od a few weeks ago, went to a job fair in Atlanta yesterday. The guy that interviewed me said things looked good and would likely get a call next week.Im scared to leave and start over .
Stating over can be the best thing to do alot of times
how'd it go im a Dockworker at XPO just got my CDL and got a job at OD seems like such a better work environment
Door vid my brotha
Two times I thought OD was going to hire me, I was interviewed and nothing, was told that I was in the pipeline for future hire, I moved out to TX and applied got called by the recruiter in CA got called by the TM was told after the first of the year is when I could get on,Crickets! I think Covid19 messed things up that chance! If anyone from OD is seeing this please respond. I have a spotless record all experience with LTL,Line Haul,OTR no issues with anything! Willing to relocate!!
I know for a fact Memphis o.d is hiring and fedex freight aslo.
Utah OD is hiring at this moment too! I could give you a reference as well. And a phone#. If you're interested. Have a good day and good luck!
@@jersonpereira6087 Dude! I was literally looking on ODFL and saw the Utah job, and what's crazier I had been wanting to move to Utah for the last couple of years, but that winter though🥶I even did the virtual hiring event last year and never heard from anyone! Thanks man!
So you get to go home everyday?
How long is your break at home is it exactly 10 hours or you get 13ish ?
I’d like to do this bro , but hoping I get 13 instead of 10 sharp like my previous job , had time for nothing .
What’s the name of your position
How would you say your quality of life is with od?
Best job but not alot of free time in my opinion.
@@kris1987ful How much free time are you getting in a 7 day period.
@@moecharms4693 I quit in November. I had maybe 8 hours at home most of the time. When your on the extra board you are on call every 10 hours. Sometimes you they call in 10 and sometimes they call after 20 hours when its slow.
10 hours start as soon as u clock out. But once u get a bid run it gets much better. Driving was just plan b for me.
@@kris1987ful Oh ion like that. I chose to do trucking but if all companies really do this bullshit. I'll go ahead and maybe pursue the electrician field.
Dude where is the commentary about driving for old dominion??? I heard loud music but nothing about old dominion as a linehaul driver!!!!
💯😤
Hey what's up ... my buddy wants to drive for OD .. he has like 2 years experience but a 6 year old DUI would OD hire him??
Not likely with that dui being only 6 months old I think they go back 5 years on things like that.
TaylorMade prosllkkkkk lo
I know you put in your two weeks notice and no longer work at ODFL. How clean does you record have to be? Do you know? I have three points about a year ago looking to start as a Dockworker first 8 months and go for a driver position. I already have my CDL no restrictions, just graduated.
Not sure about the points it all depends on the type of violations. They only care about moving violations and no DUI's. Everything else is just debatable. 1 plus is that the docworkers make more than truckers who have been on the road for a few years.
yo! OD called me today & schedule me for interview 2 days from now for linehual driver position. I just wanna ask how’s the interview & road test look like ?
Congrats on the linehual position. I work with FXF.
easy just a pretrip and a drive around the corner. im sure you're hired by now.
Can I work there with 5 months experience level?
You need 1 yr of driving experience to come in as a driver or you can come in as a dock worker and after 3 months yo can go through the driving program and become a driver, that's what I did. I was still in driving school when they called me.
