Great video! Gonna do this to mine soon.
Thanks!
I have the same cooler to install in my YJ. Thanks
Nice job.👍👍
Thanks!
A most for the 42rle transmission if you want it to last I my installed a Mishimoto engine oil cooler as well as a Mishimoto transmission cooler on my 2011 wrangler with the 3.8L Also you need to make sure your fan motor is up to par because the more stuff you have in front of the radiator the harder the fan has to work to pull air through
Thanks for the video and information. I was debating on installing a temp gauge for the trans. Any thoughts?
I plan to install one at some point, I think it's a useful thing to know especially with an older trans pushing bigger tires.
May i suggest a rubber flap or plastic cover to go under the grille to the radiator, p/s cooler, and trans cooler assembly to serve as like another shroud that would prevent air from going below the radiator and forcing more air to go through?
its better to mount it NOT on the radiator. create an air gap. if your stuck in dead stopped traffic, overheating can occur.
Not true, internet hearsay. I guess you didn't watch the entire video.
mine is b&m 70268 supercooler indicate up or on side and to include air gap, manufacture specified. so ill edit as to not cause confusion. i speak from experience not having an air gap for my YJ and AW4 trans though.
I'm looking at the instructions for the 70268 on the Holley website and it says to mount to the radiator using the adhesive cushions and mounting rods, and that it only needs 1/8" of space from the radiator (which is provided by the cushions). That is exactly how I installed it.
Crawled through the Rubicon on a summer day without issues.
I also don't see anywhere in the 70268 instructions that says orientation of the inlet/outlet matters.
it does on my printed ones for the B&M i got. weird. its prob honest not a big thing, i thought the same thing. your right about the 1/8". but my prob came when stuck in summer traffic for an hour on asphalt. it was a very specific issue b/c i had no movement at all for 60 min. it slowlllly climbed over that period, but still didnt peg out 260, it was sitting at 230ish by the time i got moving. any movement at all, brought needle down. youll be fine, you already are it seems
