I used to have a actual small cluster of obsidian which I turned into a necklace. I gave it to my little sister but she later lost the necklace. I do have more obsidian though, I'm just not gonna make another one.
Knap two notches near where the resin meets bone, then fasten around said notches to the handle of the knife to give it even more durability. As well as making it look more cool (very important).

I'd brandish my obsidian knife at them and they'd be compelled to approach. "That's very cool," they'd say, confident in their superior strength and endurance from all the rocks they carry around at all times. They'd shower me with very interesting facts about obsidian and hover just out of range of the cutting edge, waiting for me to exhaust myself. "But as it is volcanic glass, it is very fragile, you see, and isn't well-suited for use as a weap-" and then I'd hit them with the wooden baseball bat in my other hand, which they would not have noticed because geologists can only see rocks and minerals
Obsidian is a good weapon. The Aztec had clubs lined with it that could reportedly cut the head off of a Spanish Conquistador's horse, and Obsidian arrowheads were very common and fatal due to fragments breaking off and causing infection.
