Hi Alan Good advice. Wish I'd seen your vid 2 years ago before I started my 55 107.My first resto.Adventure is a perfect word for what your in for.I am almost at paint for chassis an bulkhead. Tried sourcing out but no one was game so if you want job done do it yourself. Thank to guys like you you can always find inspiration and advice on tube. CHEERS PHIL.

I sold my restored Disco 1 today to fund my 107" ute project. It's as if my phone was listening (😐) to me, you've popped up in my feed. Anyway, some great tips and things to think about as i start. Many Thanks from Perth WA.

Hi Congratulations to you, your work was fantastic, I have a 1957 107 Sw under restoration too, and I would like to know if you could tell me the code of the blue paint you used and if the wheels were painted the same color? Thanks
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. The body is painted RAF blue and the wheels Dove Grey, this was one of the options from factory in UK, but it depended on models and regions. The paint codes are RAF blue Herberts 37262 Dove grey Herberts 37263, these may be DuPont codes now
I had a '56 '86 in the 1980's in London Uk. Ioe engine, soft top. Fitted Mini Traveller heated rear demister kits to the front windows as it had no heater. Happy Days
@@TheOverlandLegend I do miss it. I used to remove the soft top, doors, and fold the window down over the bonnet mounted spare wheel, and drive round London with my mates. No seat belts, no fear! Bought a Fairy Overdrive for that extra gearstick, and fabricated a multi function stalk for the indicators/lights/horn. As a biker too, it had Iron Cross rear lights, from the custom bike catalogue. Rewired with better fuses, and an alternator, but didn't have the full understanding of electrical generation to realise i needed it to spin faster, so on the original Dynamo pulley it would stop charging at low speed...CB radio aerials and a dodgy Camo paint job....Have to dig out some pictures...

Some valuable tips here, especially number 9. I made exactly the same mistake when I dismantled my series 1 steering column.
