    There is almost nothing more Aussie than craning a 250 kg engine out of a Landy and into a stand in bare feet.

      Greetings Joseph, those feet have gotten soft since. Once winter sets in they spend a lot of time rugged up in socks, boots and slippers. Once it warms up they will be back out again in all their glory, to nobody's delight.

    Watching this it is easy to understand the peculiar fascination of the British with Meccano. Come to think of it, this has to have been built by a Meccano fan. I've never seen anything like it. : )

    Welcome to early Land Rover happiness,lots of hard to get at,and hidden bolts,and other things😉
    The tray from the back of one of these beauty's is commonly known as a tub,but you an call it what you like,it's your show after all😂
    If you are dismantling the whole engine,you might consider sending the crank and flywheel away to be balanced,makes a sweeter job of it.
    It definitely needs refacing anyway.
    Good to see you again,all the best,oh,and happy new year👍😊

    • @ForemanAndWilmsAdventures
      @ForemanAndWilmsAdventures  6 років тому +1

      Greetings Wayne. I've taken your advice and called the 'back tray' a 'tub' in an upcoming episode, the actual film making process of this series is as complicated as the project itself so I'm having to work on them like keeping a journal so I can keep track of stuff. I might look into cloning myself. That flywheel is pretty rough, I'm thinking the heads will need a service in a proper workshop also. I haven't rebuilt an engine before so succeed or fail I'll at least learn something.

    Not being mechanically minded I don't usually find this sort of video interesting but I am quite surprised that I am fascinated! There didn't seem to be that much rust as you pulled the body apart. Surprising considering the vehicle's age. Can't wait to see it hit the road for the first time after the re-build.

    When removing bushes from springs use a wedge to open spring eye and allow bush to fall out, springs should not be lubricated as they rely on friction between leaves to dampen out compression and extension during operation. Great series as always keep up the good work.

    I have got a seven year old pair of brown (I think there is still some colour on them) elastic side boots in the back shed I use for the odd concreting job that I could lend you. Their size 7 and just be aware that if you do want them I might have to find another home for some daddy long leg spiders. Just be careful, motors rarely fall out of cars but gearboxes tend to want to hit the floor every time some one walks past the shed door.

    Hello and Happy New Year from Canada.
    I just started working on my newest acquisition yesterday.
    A 1955 Series One truck.
    Left hand drive, all original.
    It is New Year's eve here, and, my plan is to spend 1st January, 2019, working on it.
    It is virtually rust free.....really.
    Some wrinkles, as age will put on you, but, it's not going to be a trailer queen.
    I am so looking forward to tinkering on it...
    For sale, if anyone is interested. ...
    The more I do, the more it costs...
    Happy New year to all Landy Lovers out there...

    You made pulling a landrover to peices entertaining. look forward to the next epiesode I enjoy all your video and dont understand why your lacking subscribers .What I have seen from another utuber he explained what would be the best things to do to benifit his position on the internet .Your content is always entertaining and I would assume most of your watchers are too eager to watch the show and get rid of the adds but lets face it if we want to continue watching you, Summer and Kricket you need to be paid.Explain to us how we can Help.All your content is movie quality and i like to watch it on the big screen .Well done and thankyou

      Thanks for the high praise. The 3 of us are unconcerned with making money from our films as it's a hobby that we are going to pursue regardless and UA-cam offers a convenient platform to display them. Although Wilms and myself could be open to some sponsorship, we're quite reluctant as we'd potentially be selling out some of our creative control and be holding to someone else. I think money and fame are quite over rated. I'm pleased you like the channel, happy new year to you.

    Having been unfortunate enough to actually own a series 1 (1948) an original 2 door rangie, a series 3 109 station wagon, and finally 2 Defender wagons you would think I have acquired enough "smarts" to stay well away for the bloody things by now but here I am at almost 70 years of age and having owned an 80 series cruiser for the past 20 years (718,369 kms) I find myself yearning for a
    6 x 6 ex Australian army landy. SWMBO says if I do I can sleep with it in the garage. I suppose the dog will understand. Best of luck with your adventure in masochism. One question though, is the a part 1 to this sage?

      Greetings Frank. I certainly understand the Land Rover addiction. I myself have done a lot of miles in troopy's and they are solid and reliable. It's a bit like people who just can't get out of an abusive relationship and we keep going back for more. There are 5 parts so far for the saga but part 1 should be along this road.. ua-cam.com/video/dmmSxXwPaCo/v-deo.html

    What’s with the sandals? You are letting the team down not wearing thongs ! Bit of a helpful hint throw those K&N filters away all they do is stop half house bricks and small children been sucked in . If you can find a 200 or a 300tdi that would make it perfect . Nothing against the 3.5 v8 but oil burners are much more efficient, even better if you can get the original F head petrol but it is not a rivet counter resto . Have fun ! Cheers from Australia

    • @ForemanAndWilmsAdventures
      @ForemanAndWilmsAdventures  6 років тому

      My apologies on the footwear Pete, its all this foreign influence! Culturally speaking I'm a little diluted. Those filters on the engine might have to go as it appears the intake manifold may be terminally damaged by corrosion and they don't make them anymore, meaning an upgrade of both it and a different carburetor system. At least that is what I'm finding so far. The weathers gone chilly round these parts now so I've traded the 'jandals'; Bugger; I mean sandals for muck boots. All class.

    • @randomoldbloke
      @randomoldbloke 6 років тому +1

      No worries happens to the best of us lol , for information on your build have a gander at the AULRO site some of the best information in the world on landys , lot of helpful folk as well . It's Aussie nuff said . The poms should be able to help as well just not sure of any plaves except ashcroft and turner engineering both uk companies that ship internationally. If you can find one a inlet manifold off a P76 bolts straight on and if memory serves me right a 650 holley bolts straight on . Personally i much prefer the SU carbs very easy to setup, probably to refined for the US lol
