I’m by myself and enjoying it. 🤷‍♂️ the music wasn’t annoyingly loud that everyone a mile away could hear it, but you could pick up on the tunes. playing house with our friends. riding our bicycles. LEARNING how to ride a bicycle for the first time down our driveway. running and running and running around, playing, sweating. drinking out of the hose. giving our dogs a bath in the front yard with that same hose. our family computer, watching the pipe screensaver, playing minesweep and windows pinball games. polly pockets. gameboy color and gameboy advance. It’s honestly funny and sad how many people are bothered by this video. I don’t think like bitter and close minded people. Too many think in terms of polarizing extremes. Everything has to be one way and one way only. I don’t, I mentioned the benefits of the phone and showed gratitude for what it did in my life. I guess those statements slip past the Neanderthal tiktok brain and some people just get emotional. “that damn phone got you a million views” you damn right it did, because I had the courage to upload my messages and people must really enjoy them. I’ve touched and been touched by the souls of many. “the hypocrisy” Yes I make content that people consume. Ig we needed rocket science to crack that code. Let’s not ignore that I advocate for lowering screen time and being conscious of what you consume instead of rotting the brain of millions and making a damn fool out of myself. I sit back and take lot of bs because I put myself in this position but I don’t tolerate disrespect and I damn sure don’t tolerate stupidity.

Fellow 99 kid here. The world seems so bizarre compared to how it was when I was a child. Most people had flip phones that were barely capable of texting, and half the time they forgot to charge them so they just left it at home. My family still had a house phone when I was young. There was one old computer that the entire family shared.
When I played video games with my friends, it meant going over to their house and playing split screen on one TV, passing controllers around so that everybody got a turn.
I remember coming home from school and trying to finish my homework as fast as possible so I would get to play outside with my friends, and we would stay out there running around, chasing each other, playing hide and seek, fighting with sticks, playing soccer, throwing a football around. Hopscotch, kickball. Every boy was expected to own a baseball glove for a game of catch. Everybody did some kind of little league sport or athletic activity.

I was born in 86 as well. I've given up television as well as social media for the most part, but the allure of the world wide web and its bountiful offering of information, vast yet available at our fingertips on demand has an entrenched influence on me that is hard to shake. There are some gems out there that are truly invaluable, without which I would likely have a significantly different view of the world no doubt. Only thing is whether that's for better or worse. All I know is that we are living in times of information operations of the Military and State and the integrity of any information obtained through this avenue runs a risk of being potentially misleading or outright deceiving. I used to feel enlightened by the knowledge gained through internet resources, but for all I know I've arbitrarily accepted much of reality simply because certain things didn't seem within the realm of plausibility, probability or even possibility. I'm pretty sure my understanding of the world is exactly as some powerful entity intends it to be, not as it is in actuality. It's a crazy world and I get the feeling that it is quite different than most of us perceive it to be. It is much easier to accept something as legitimate when those around you take it for granted just the same. I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but serious scrutiny leads to serious inquiry which yields only further questions and increases the discomfort of an unraveling paradigm. It's like seeking the light by traversing an ever-darkening path

Aside from going into town to get essentials, I don’t interact with society much anymore for this reason. I can’t do it anymore. Too depressing to witness. For a very long time now, I’ve given up on humanity. Couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. And lemme tell you, every time I pick up my phone now it feels a bit wrong. Feels like I don’t need it and I could be doing something more, making memories, learning, working, etc. The internet is constantly feeding us so much information, it makes complete sense that *almost* nobody seems to have a clear, peaceful head anymore. Stop letting ur phone be your go-to when ur bored, spend time in nature regularly (not an hour outside, try to really embrace it), have some real fun and explore, and ur head will feel clearer than ever. You have a nice voice to listen to. My story is... here we go... I watch a lot of art tutorials. Instead of being inspired and educated on different methods, I found myself getting discouraged and depressed. I'll never be this good, I give up... wow, I went from joy to depression just like that! Thank you for this video! Eyes wide open now!

Keep doing art tutorials! Don't compare it's so so unnecessary even if it's almost inevitable

Same. I was the top artist all throughout school. Not boasting but I was voted as such by my peers. Now? I draw maybe 6x a year. And I used to be more perfectionist about art and dedicated more time. Now I want to create just as quickly as I consume content. Awareness comes first. And then you take the next step. With new awareness, the saying, " Comparison is the thief of joy" has rung so loud when I come across others art now. Please keep creating. For yourself first and foremost. It's our souls therapy and helps us breathe more peacefully by letting our body express our emotions.

This was really the video I needed today - acknowledging everything and reassuring that we still have the ability to change and improve has been wonderful.

You have an old soul man, listening to you is like listening to someone who is wise beyond their years. I was genuinely shocked when you said you were only 21. Keep it up man, you're the kind of person this world needs!!

“It profits of your insecurity” so well said. Trust me, I have gotten to place in life where I’ve realized social media will only make you feel bad for what you don’t have, no matter how successful, attractive, or popular you are. Just put the phone down and live life. It’s not worth it.

the thing that hurts the most is the fact that i completely agree with whatever is being said in this video and i understand the reality of our phones, yet i struggle so hard to act on the advice. no matter how hard i try to put my phone aside, put it on silent, leave it at the other end of the house so i can focus on the stuff that i really want to or need to do, i find myself slowly crawling back to that damn metal rectangle. but your video has truly inspired me and i am going to try again for the nth time to focus on my real life, with all its consequences, duties and obligations. i really should realize that the time im spending simply tapping away on a screen, could've been applied to studying, which will help me in the future. so thank you.

You just have to start off slow, making a drastic change in one day can be hard like for instance I have a strong addiction to tiktok and find myself arguing, getting bullied ect in the app, yet I still continued to go on the app and try to prove to people that I am pretty, I am funny, all the things they said I wasn’t. I found myself constantly trying to prove myself to people and one day I just deactivated my account, I no longer cared about my 10k followers or likes or views I got tired of living life based off of numbers of course I still have instagram and snapchat still but nobody from my tiktok account are on those apps day by day I’m learning to just focus on what’s happening around me and not what’s happening behind my screen I’m going to start reading books like 10 pages a day I’m going to cut down on wearing makeup because tiktok is part of the reason why I slap so much on, anyways I said all this to say that coning from someone who was soo soo addicted to tiktok and staying on that app from sun up to sundown I have finally got myself out of that loop and I know you can do it too

Dude speaks the truth, Had a group once but since one makes a trend of trauma dumping everyone decides to flex which is worse in their scenario to the point of exploitation and I blame on what those fools consume, even though I miss em we keep moving forward, with or without em.

Listening to this after the gym and had to take a detour and stroll through the beautiful botanic gardens on the way home and post a quick comment. Like you I've been feeling my art lately and I consider myself someone who's largely beat the social media/technology addiction and I'm generally living that good life, but this video was a slap in the face for me that I've been slacking these last couple days and it happens to even the best of us, I'm sure even you sometimes man. I was about to binge some of your content but the best compliment I can pay you for this video is that now I want to turn your shit off and be in my own head a while. Keep at it man, I only watch you every few weeks or so but you're always that smack in the face I need to check myself, refocus and realign. Love
