And in the states, when you mix whiskey and beer, it’s called a Boiler Maker. Usually because it churns your stomach 🤣 But that’s also usually done with lite beer, which is... as the Germans call it, Pißwasser. The ß is a “ss” sound. Almost like a hiss. Which makes it all the more fitting... 🤣

I just tried googling the lyrics he belted and didn't find anything but he was in key and pleasant sounding... the last time I heard him sing was in the "Irish People Try America's Strongest Alcohol" video where he was clearly just making words up and STILL sounding like a man who knew his way around a tune. I say this as a man who's educated in music.

Suzanne McNeal if you drop in the shot glass it’s not called a boiler maker anymore, it’s called a depth charge. Proper technique for that drink dictates that you catch the shot glass in your teeth when you chug the entire drink. Two or three and you are pretty shit faced.😂
Nope, that's a depth charge or any other number of names.
Boilermaker is specifically a beer _and a shot on the side_. Idea was that hard working labourers would come in and have a shot of something strong to warm their bones and perk them up a bit so they could properly enjoy an after work beer without sculling the whole thing.

Love this, just wanted to say the “shot” of whiskey in beer is called a boilermaker ( shot of whiskey in beer), also traditionally pickle juice is used as a SHOT after a SHOT of whiskey. Seeing them as cocktails, so to speak, made me laugh so much.
