I think it’s definitely the most unique of the Dublin Distilleries. When you visit you learn as much about the people in the graveyard as you do about whiskey. It’s awesome.
@@ThisTastesLikeWhiskey !!!!OMG....I LOVE this channel & pray you keep adding similar content. Honestly, you could go into these whiskies "a bit" deeper. I especially enjoy that Grainne is part of the videos...she's SOOOO COOL!!!! Best regards from Yucatan Mexico, Ben (your newest subscriber)
Spirits in a church of the Holy Spirit? 😂 But seriously, that's a lovely distillery. The only sad bit is I'm more likely to win the lottery before I could find a bottle of the Pearse Genny.
You two produce a great video. Darren, you are a natural in front of the camera and have a grand knowledge of whiskey. I'm Kentucky, born and bred, so whiskey is my jam. GREAT job!!
That Grainne cameo haha, and this was a hilarious video... just glad the youtube overlords recommended your channel to me, can't wait to see what comes next!
This video popped up in my feed … I guess I watch too many whisky/whiskey videos. I started watching and thought “hold on, I know that guy”, and was wracking my brain trying to place the face. Then Grainne popped in and it hit me BAM! LOL, I remember you saying some time ago on TRY you were going to start a whiskey channel and here it is. Good one. Immediately watched the previous video . Subscribed 👍🏻
hot damn! am i going to get a tour of Ireland's bars and distilleries from try channel Darren? I am here for it. Keep Grainne involved if you can. Lovin the comedy bits. good luck with the new venture.
Darren, I visited the Distillery in March of this year. The sampling (flight) was good but clearly the Genesis was the best tasting product. I couldn't afford the 200 euro tag so I left it. I did buy a nice hoodie from the shop. Good to see you again. I remember meeting you at the #### whiskey shop a few years ago. Keep up the quality videos.
I live a little over an hour away from the Alltech distillery in Lexington, Kentucky (Town Branch). Was in Dublin a couple months ago, but I wasn't able to see the Pearse Lyons distillery. Thanks for sharing!
I love these. When I was a little kid Dusty's treehouse used to show a how things were made, factory video every Friday. This is just like that.... except with whiskey.
hahahaha, first episode I've seen and love it. So i watched every single episode on the channel, Subscribed, and then came back to tell you all that... This tastes like whiskey.
Micro distilleries have also been popping up in Canada, thanks mostly to a loosening of post-prohibition laws. Canadian oak is seldom used for barrels. The climate is not very conducive for oak and the oak that does grow here is too dense to impart much flavour. Some distillers use maple barrels to "finish" their whisky. It creates a sweeter tasting whisky.
Very cool. Seeing a distillery set up in a church like that makes the Atheist in me very happy for some reason. But idk, maybe if there were more distilleries in churches I would have gone more often. Hahaha
Another great video, plus a bottle I've never heard of before! Informative, funny, and the perfect length video. Of course, if you wanted to did more into the history and all that stuff I'd watch that too!
I should add that my favorite whiskey is Redbreast 12 bc of you. (Currently sipping Teeling Blackpits.) You are a great ambassador for whiskey. If you got me to convert, I'm sure you'll convert others.
Well done, and I'm truly pleased that you aren't just a human torso on some sort of hampster powered steampunk squid thing. Subscribed, with enthusiasm! All the best from Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.
Ah! So glad to find this! WHERE ARE THE GLASSES j/k. Great content! That distillery looks so cool, wish you had this channel before I'd traveled to Dublin last spring.
That was a dram fine video! 😎
ba dum tsss 😂😂😂 love ya Colin
The Emperor of Puns hath spoken!
I couldn't understand a word he said without his official whiskey-man glasses...
Same. And without the cardigan, he's barely even qualified.
@@raydenmorris5220 How right you are! I think these videos must have been made by an imposter!
Fantastic! You and Gráinne are a perfect comedy duo Darren!
It runs in the family 😂
@@ThisTastesLikeWhiskey You're my favourite fiblings (for when you're friends who are like siblings)!
@@ThisTastesLikeWhiskeywhat, jeans?
You had me at:
"at the distillery"❤
Grainne at the end was the Chef's Kiss😂
It doesn't surprise me that Darren *could* talk for 8 hours about the history, what surprises me is he'd only walk 10 meters in that time.
I transition to more of a “shuffle” when I talk about history.
Was this a . . . single Grainne whiskey video? :D
I see what you did there 😂
She was in the video twice, so it was a double Grainne whiskey video.
Those stained glass windows are awesome.
I think it’s definitely the most unique of the Dublin Distilleries. When you visit you learn as much about the people in the graveyard as you do about whiskey. It’s awesome.
I'm learning AND laughing?! WHAT MORE COULD ONE WANT!!
It’s info-edu-alco-tainment!

This channel is the perfect blend of comedy and information. Great work, Grainne and Darren.
This has now become a must watch for me.
All killer no filler, great start(s) to the channel.
I’m not a big whiskey drinker but I followed Darren over from Try and just love his vibe. And great to see Grainne too.
Little Darren boyo trekking off on his own. Fine adventures to ensue I am certain. I hope to see Martin in a cameo in the near future.
I love the pacing, editing and the humor in these so much! I love listening to someone's passion while they're just having fun with it
For once, the logarithm got it right! The Darren channel we all asked for!
Love watching these!
Great video!! Between the knowledge and the comedy an outstanding vid. Having Grainne especially at the end was a real Bonus!

They missed an opportunity by not leaving the baptismal font up and filling it with whiskey…
