That's the way I have always done my dead maggots, 5 days and 99% dead and kept colour.
Also doing the whole keep in bag method allows you to keep your maggots alive for weeks, just open them every 2 to 3 days, leave to come round then rebag and repeat.
I have maggots that are over 4 weeks old that are still alive.

Brilliant video Jamie! My question is - when would you go for a dead maggot rather than alive and why??

I think it's the same reason you would use entate groundbait rather than active, certain fish like still baits rather than live baits, such as bream...

Great informative video Jamie. What I don't understand is why people would put negative comments on. For me you're taking time out to entertain and give an insight to your match fishing and tactics which help in catching more fish. Keep up the great work mate.

You should try the canal that runs past Southfield Res in the Spring, so good matches on there, feeder does well further upsteam like Heck area.

Nice one Jamie great to have the 4 min Fri back. My Question is do you have a plan for your initial match approach. for example 30 metres at 10 and 2 o clock and then do you explore the same line or what is your trigger to go longer. Thanks again

Great tips as usual jamie i am a now member on a pond i have fished it a couple of times and had some success but its very silty and when i have 5 or 6 bream on the feeder its hard to get them feeding again when they have been grubbing around and kicked the silt up i have tryed going to the left and right on the same line clip and i have come in shorter and gone longer but gust picking the odd roach and bream up have you got any tips that might get me some more bights it would be much appreciated mate

Jamie, do you ever fish the candle or a slow sinking bubble style float for carp in the warmer month’s?

Great stuff. My question is what is the benefit of a feeder link and when would you use one, I note you don’t always use one. Thanks.

Hi Jamie brilliant as always is it better to use a feeder link or a swizled boom when feeder fishing

I think youve got your wires crossed mate, a feeder link is just a snap swivel on a length of high strength line, it goes on the line like a normal swivel, then your bead, then you twizzle your boom to about the length of the feeder link + feeder, i.e the quick change swivel or hooklength loop should be below the feeder as it hangs.

    • @martinroe758
      @martinroe758 2 роки тому

Do you have to have a swirled boom or can you have the feeder straight on the line

When using a traditional waggler float, what is your general rule of thumb when selecting the right size and type of waggler float, with depth, distance and bait in mind?

New luggage - must be time for a new "show and tell"?
Warm weather - maggots usually come round in an hour. Cold weather - takes much longer.

Problem with using got water, as soon as you add river water (cold) they come back, my oreffered method is to riddle then freeze for 3 days... They stay dead.... Or simply buy them frozen from the tackle shop....

  • @erniedignam9092

Great Video, but tackle shops should not serve a customer with maggots in a plastic bag. 👍🐟
