I came to check this video out to help me for the fan brush challenge. 😁 It's not a brush I've used much of so this video is great. It actually looks like it can be a nifty brush to have if you know how to use it.
Yes , just practice a little and you will get fimiliar with it, then your off lol 😁 don't be discouraged if it's not a master piece, just enjoy the process 😁👌🎨

I adore fan brushes - I especially use them for trees and to make the bubbles in the surf when I paint ocean scenes. I hadn't thought of using one for grasses on dunes, but the texture you created looks exactly right - I should try it!

Nice fan brush techniques! I have one fan brush but i barely use it because i'd rather torture myself and paint individual tiny leaves instead of using the fan brush to save time and get the same look! lol. that is a good idea to try using the fan brush for ripples and highlights on water, though!

Hi Chrissy! Great idea for showing tips and tricks to mix it up a little. I love it! If you haven't noticed I mixed it up a little myself with some tech videos but they are all related to my art since I am only showing the tools I use including my cameras and bags and accessories that go with it. I thought it may be a little interesting just for something different. Also as you know I was always a techie guy in my profession so I thought it made some sense. It's all fun and isn't that what its all about?

What kind of canvas are you using, and how'd you get it so smooth?
I used card for this demo, smooth. I usually work on stretched/ canvas sheets to make it smooth lightly sand with a smooth grit sandpaper 👍🏼
