This is the exact problem I am having. We have spent hundreds of dollars in various shops trying to get this resolved. Wish I'd found your video earlier. It is a tremendous help.
Thank you for letting me know, I was about to scrap my van out. If you need help with the relearn process let me know I think I still have the relearn instructions in the box with my old module.
@@Crowbirdvideos I actually do have a question. You mentioned you needed the passlock procedures from the instructions you printed. Your vehicle seems identical to mine except mine is a 3500. My key matches the lower right key in the instructions which indicates its passkeyIII. Does your key match the passlock key?
@@scottpate9019 I will check mine when I go out this morning and let you know. I did have to do the relearn procedure a second time for it to work, and every now and then it will act up. I turn the key off, wait 10 minuets, turn the key to the on position and wait for the security light to go off, then crank it up.
My security light has been on steady for awhile now. Your video is spot on. I just ordered my module and it should be here this Friday 4/26. I'll let you know how it goes. Thank you.
Thank You, I had to use a different re-learn procedure than the one that came with the module. I think that there are three different ones. I will see if I can find the instructions I used.
I finally got it. I installed the new module. Unfortunately the relearn wouldn't work. I tried it 3 different ways and no luck. I had to put things on hold due to work load and finally got back to it yesterday. I tried the relearn procedure and it still wouldn't work. I picked up a code reader and plugged it in and saw i had 2 error codes. They were both related to the passlock, which I already new about, and I cleared the codes. Maybe it's just coincidentall but after I cleared the codes, the relearn worked. Clear the codes! Thanks for the great video. If it wasn't for your video, I would've had to take it to a dealership. Probably would've cost me thousands.
Could this work? Run a fused wire from the battery directly thru a cabin on/off switch to the feed wire to the fuel pump? If so should the original feed wire be cut (and taped off) from the original electrical source maybe nearer to the dash electrical source so as not to interfere with the security system which is being over-ridden? Or run the wire and pull the security fuse, number 21 in my case.
I had to purchase a rebuilt one online. If you can't find a rebuilt one online, I do not know. Junk yards did not seem to have them. Let me know, I will try to find one and send you the link but it will be late tonight. Good luck!
You can try to relearn the computer by turning the switch on for eight to ten minuets and then turn it off for 4 or five seconds, do this three times. Sometime I have to do this still.
I had the parts guy at chevy print out a sketch breakdown of where the part is in my van. They should be able to do it for your truck as well, but even with knowing where it is it was still very hard to remove and replace. Mine was sitting on top of a steel plate just to the right of the steering wheel behind the gauges. I could only see the connections when on my back looking up.
@gregmccarter2176 I am pretty sure that it is. I am having issues again myself. I have ordered a ECM with the Security Program deleted. IT should be here Tuesday. I hope it will permanently resolve this issue. I am going to make a video on it so be watching for it. Thank you for your comment and for watching the videos
I got the rebuild part and was up and running in less than an hour, but i did have to use a different re-learn procedure for the key. It worked for me, i hope it works for you, thank you for the note, pleas like share and subscribe to my channel
I did not send mine back, I guess every company has a different return method, check with the co you got yours from and let me know how it works for you. I had to do the "relearn" procedure twice before mine worked

did you need to do the key relearn 3x?......or more? thanks!
Mine worked on the third time.
The problem with today's dealerships is. Most of them are not mechanics...they have expensive diagnostic equipment..parts changers...thats a fact
Yes it it is only getting worse. Thank you for your comment and for watching the videos
@Crowbirdvideos I own a 99 chevy express...is the module in the same location?
