Love seeing the progress., another thing I do with Sculptamold is stippling with an old paint brush (90 degree to surface) to simulate small areas of rock outcrops without using rock molds. Another thing I do is to pretint the scultamold with the earth color so if it gets nicked the white does not show thru.
Outstanding techniques everything looks great. You say that you were going to redo your main line cuz I noticed in the beginning of the video that some of your main line is getting kind of crooked. Lol. I know you're very meticulous and I know that you would want to make sure that I was straight. Can't wait for the finish video. Gary
Actually because I am modeling a secondary line I didn’t want perfectly straight manicured track. The prototype I model was in horrible shape. Conrail didn’t spend much on maintenance on the secondary lines. The track problems I’m talking about is crappy turnouts that cause constant derailments. More to come on that in a future video. As always thank you for all your support!
what do you use to cut the cardboard into sharp-edged, clean strips? are you starting with random cardboard boxes and cutting them down to strips? Or something else? Thanks!
Sorry Gary that I haven’t responded yet. The ground cover I use is all scenic express. I find the products they carry are a little higher quality and they offer so many varieties!
Excellent video demonstrating tried and proven methods. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Mad respect, I never looked into model train dioramas, but the amount of skill involved, is rather profound. Kudos and respect!
Thank you sir, and thanks for watching!
Great update looking awesome Joe ! Keep HIGHBALLING HOGGER 👉
Thanks Dale!
Thanks for the post Joe. I enjoyed seeing how cardboard lattice is constructed and your plaster cloth technique.
Thanks and thanks for watching!
THIS video is BADASS!!
Wow thanks you!
Great update on the progress on your layout. …..John
Thank you John!

I on me that idea, I will definitely try stippling next time. As for tinting I always say I’m gonna do it but then I get going and forget.
Thanks for watching!

No I understand that Joe I did a model once and I had to have bad track and it's almost harder to model bad track than it is good track

Honestly I don’t. I purchase them from MicroMark. While that’s a great way to recycle and save money, I just don’t have the time. Thanks for watching!
Did you get my comment on your last layout, wanting to know what you use in the scenery shacker???

Are you using the grass green fine or dark green fine??
