I watched a tutorial from a guy who explained how to make home portraits with lighting for cheap and let's just say his pictures actually looked CHEAP! stopped watching tutorials after that, but this video just inspired me again!! Great teaching, simple and clear! You're awesome!! You just gained a new happy subscriber!
Tommy, this is outstanding. Clear, concise and most of all meaningful. I can/will use this tutorial to further speed-up my learning curve for portraits. Are you using a Sigma or Canon 85mm art series lens? Great photos. Be well. 💯
Great video Tommy. Great to see someone using the persons name in a video instead of the seemingly common my model or the model. Sam is gorgeous, great portraits.
Love this! One of my favorite lightings is Paramount (Butterfly), then you can add the reflector underneath for the Clamshell. This is one of the best and most direct and useful tutorials I have watched. Thank you. Definitely subscribing.
Brilliant video. Watched a TON of videos trying to find this information well explained and demonstrated. Finally found a video that does that. Thanks so much!
dude, this is just what i needed. I'm gonna be doing my first set of "studio" shoots this weekend after only shooting natural light since day one. I've actually been practicing on myself with a remote trigger, and i've stumbled onto some cool lighting set ups, but this video was perfect.
I am in the exact same situation! Or I used a studio back in college, but all is forgotten! Thank you Tommy! Pretty sure I'm gonna use the clam, excellent!
Not exaggerating this is legit the most useful video I've come across in so so long, finally someone explaining it all in a relateable, understandable way! Thanks dude!
I bought a strobe recently and I've been looking for some tutorials and so many of them have more than one light. This video was fantastic and taught me what can be done with just one light. Thank you!
Very subtle! At 6.58, the model's left arm is up and functions also a little bit as a reflector, shedding just a hint of light on her face. Nicely done!
I'm glad that you explained it a very simple and nice way.. good job, and I'll be more than happy to put my first comment on UA-cam on this video.. thanks young man..
Im a natural light photographer but this video you have taken your time to do for us makes me want to have a go at using studio lights..thank you so much :)
No scientific babble, no mumbo jumbo, no flashes overkill, just one light, one intelligent photographer and one clear tutorial.
I just love this!
Thank you for this awesome comment dude :) I’m glad you liked it!
You're welcome, man.
Thanks to this video I immediately subscribed.
Don't forget the insanely gorgeous model :)
Absolutely! But, I do need to review it to determine where the flash was positioned...
i would agree !!
1. The 45-degree angle 2:09/-
2. The 70-degree angle 2:21/-
3. Side Lighing 4:06/-
4. Clam Shell Lighing 5:18/-
5. Back Lighting 6:25/-
Petr Horak Thanks dude !
