Jeff: "Stay there for me"
I almost made the same comment until I saw yours. Lol.. Stay right there for me!
Not physically but mentally... Stay there for me
Dead. lol

I applaud his dedication. Very submissive as well
This was a great style for Glamour shots for a manly look. The light reflectors do a wonderful Job.
kudos to the model ... an absolute professional... as always Rojas informative, simple and creative thank you for sharing.
This has to be one of the best videos on a single light portrait!! Simplicity in everything! Jeff, thank you so much for putting this up and two thumbs up (I have only two)!!
Thank you! :)
Holy shit how do you not have a bajillion views?! Your videos have helped me learn lighting quickly and to the point but also with enough information to make you understand why one makes the adjustments they make.
Thank you so much. :)
Thank you Pro Edu & Jeff for sharing. Keep inspiring guys! 😁
One of the best tutorials I’ve watched. I’m lucky and have worked very hard to have most of the gear mentioned in your video. The one light approach is what I prefer, but natural light, e.g. a window, is another preference. Thanks for producing this video.
Great teacher....easy to understand and clear instructions 👌👌👌👌👌
Your model is handsome and thank you so much Jeff.
I have a couple of your books and I love your tutorial videos. You have a very relaxed style of teaching and some great ideas and tips.

Andre Quattra thank you kindly! :)
I like the new style of how you made the video, like we are in the class, with pauses between bringing the props and the shots. Ty Jeff

It's amazing how much you could do with just one light.
This is often the case, what looks magical can be done with the fewest of things!

Thank you very much for this straight and clear video. Many interesting tips. The only question I have is regarding the power of your flash. Do you always shoot at 100% power or do you play with the power of the flash ? Cheers
Awesome work. Good tips working in studio or rental. Thanks.

Thank you very much for all these explanations Jeff! It is thanks to you where I learned a maximum! On the other hand I will have a question ... Is the fact of creating a fill-in approaching a flat light? And therefore to lack of contrast ..

You're very kind. Thank you. :)
Very helpful tutorial.
Siddharth Thapa thank you! :)
Dope!!!😎🤙🏼
Excellent video Jeff. What is that roll of translucent material called and where can you get it? It makes a wonderful difference and is a great way to simulate natural window light👍
Hello Jeff; love your work, love your videos. I have a question. How do you work with men wit bald heads? Specifically the possible reflection of flash. In my experience, the 45 degree angle creates highlights on the head. Take care of it in post? Thank you for any advice you may give)))
reALLY HELPFUL VIDEO
The Shutterbug thank you!
Hello, could you tell me where I could buy those backdrops online? What should I look for? Those arent the muslin/fabric type right?
Budget and Profoto don't go together, lmao. Still awesome video from Jeff!
SweetKicks Videos thank you! Feel free to invest in what you can afford... light is light. 😁
You're good!
Awesome ! Good initiative ! But exclusive !
radha krishnan thank you!
Nice bud budget and profoto flash.....
Well this is technically one light + many studio quality modifiers :P
Cool video
can you pls tell me what is the head you are using in that tripod? Seems like the set up i want to use..
make the light source bigger and it gets softer!
What lens are you using?
Woow! I just found you and ..... wow!

Hey Jeff...Which tether software do you use?
Beautifull, where can you buy this V flats?
Very nice
GOOD!
It Looks Like A Hamburger thank you! :)
I love this right here... Quick one please, what's the connection between your camera and your monitor, that makes your shot automatically transmit to the monitor?
Hi - it is a tethering cable.
Masterfully explained and executed Jeff. The images of the first model and the last image of the second model looked like a magazine cover. The V-flats: if purchased, can you provide a link? Also, would have liked to have seen better the angle of the half of the V-flat that was bouncing light back into the subject. Great stuff. Thanks-Greg.
Greg Schaeffer thank you! They’re from Vflatworld. Check them out on IG. :)
Thank u
Obraniak Design thanks for watching!
Nice
No need for old school lighting ratio more light a "little less" so eye ball guestimation will work. Please just add a light meter meter the main meter fill and see exactly how much fill it yield what shape come of it when you move your V Flat in and out. Ratio 3:1 no guessing. Clone out the dividing seams line on his black V Flat
Great tutorial. Just wondering what advantage a 90mm macro has over say an 85mm 1.8 if shot at 2.8. The need for a 'macro' is what I'm curious about. Thx
Probably none here. Use what you have. Maybe he doesn't have an 85 - hence the 90.
Edit: I watched more. Using the macro allows him to get in tight with the second shot. The 85 might be able to do it...but it depends on the particular 85 and it's minimum focus distance. With a macro, you don't need to worry about a min focus distance for portraits.
@@shifteleven Thanks. I use a full frame 85 1.8 on a crop sensor, so easy to get close ups ...from a slight distance.
I'm also wondering if he's shooting a medium format body or a full-frame 35mm equivalent.
That will make a difference on what angle of view the 90mm lens will show.
The only thing that I didn't understand is why the hand was cut off on the first model, probably planning to crop further in post.
Stay there for me!
Thanks, I feel you need longer lens for the head shots though.. Youre moving closer and closer and really noticing the unflatering distortion on the face.
Great video and build up of a lightingstudio set....however...what is the others dudes’ function? Is he an intern or...?! The guy that checks your monitor after each shot.
Questions how do you do this lighting with people who wear glasses?
This course used to be able to be bought in rgg edu - but now it seems that it has been disappeared from the site?
Nice video - grats - but, my problem is the lights are the eyes of the second model. (cat eye effect)
Anyone --- what do I search for to find a tall one sided "boom" stand as was used for the roll of diffusion film? Thanks. I'm substituting a microphone stand which has a boom but both the height and the extension of the boom are limiting me to table top sized objects.
Nice!
Do you guys offer a tutorial with Rojas here?
Though it's a lil complicated for me, but I'll get there! 😭
Only using a direct ligth ? 😮
great video thank you!!
Just a little problem at the end where you can see multiple times clichés with the model's biggest eye. You can see at 9:19min /10:10min or 10:53 min. But the video is a great lesson of studio strobism!Again thank you !
Nice video. Where is the studio?
This was shot in our studio in St. Louis
he looks like a robot idk why , great tutorial hermano
Hello Jeff , please where can i get the flag.
What camera?🤔
I've shot with APS-C and full frame. Fujifilm and Nikon. It doesn't matter. You don't need to go over 24mp. Get yourself a good piece of glass for whatever camera your using. 50mm is a great start for portraits. Dive deep into increasing your editing skills. Study LR and photoshop like a madman. Not sure if you new to photography and I hope I'm not insulting you :)
Strength and Grace Movement a7RIII
wat size is the modifier
He said XL
@@samueljacobs9679 thank you I missed it...what kinda cart is that with the computer on it.. That's pretty nice
