Using some of these videos to help figure out what might work best for me in X, Y, or Z scenario, as well as help in figuring out what kit I might use for costumes or fan character loadouts, since I am simultaneously into guns and a massive nerd.
Belt kit seems pretty my speed, with FLC added over the harness of the belt kit. Backpack of appropriate size worn in conjunction, and pouches equipped based on what I'll be doing, will complete my shorter term loadout. Eventually I will be getting a plate carrier, and possibly a solid chest rig too, but for now, the belt kit and FLC seem the most feasible for me, and the most practical for my purposes(Those being the storage and transportation of extra items from one location to another, and to have a fighting load at the ready).
I will continue watching more videos to give myself more ideas for what to buy, and what to use.
Another informative video from Lucas! 'Split Rigs' - I was thinking of chest rigs with battle belts which are fairly popular. I'm a big fan of the FLC for several reasons - cost, adaptability, easy to open or remove and reasonable comfort. Like TAPS and chest rigs it was designed to be worn over slick body armor and keep the loadout 'frontwards' for riding in transports. When the military finally figured out they could put MOLLE on the PC the FLC became obsolete. If needed a loaded battle belt with suspenders can be worn with the FLC as the vest like design keeps 'shoulder strap piling' to a minimum. I look at the whole 'loadout' as a layering system - PC, FLC, belt kit, and pack on the 'heavy' end and just the FLC or belt kit as the minimum. As civilians we tend to lean on the lighter side so a FLC fits this role well. I don't understand why people would rather spend $65 - $150 for a 'chest rig' when a $20 FLC does the same damn thing!
you can never overload back in the olden days i had 2 saw pouches 4 mag pouches 2 canteen pouches and a butt pack for pogey bait and poncho. and a large ruck with more pogey bait and ammo
What is pogey bait?

I have an eagle h harness maritime belt kit and an eagle RRV and I love them both so much I couldn’t pick between them. Eagle made sturdy great kit!
Another option with the TAPS is that you can just wear it over a slick carrier and don’t have to attach it.
I have all of those and my favorite is the FLC snugs up tight around me plenty of magazine pouches and GP pouches.
If I really want to run a heavy load comfortably I use my U.S.A.F. security forces H-harness withe the 100 ounce hydration back bag as a very large GP pouche. Along with two of there buckled magazine pouches that hold 3 U.S.G.I. magazines each as back up to my double magazine pouches.
It can get a bit weighty (and still be comfortable) but after almost running out of loaded mags in a gunfight I'm a ferm believer in you cannot carry enough ammo.
Wry good video explaining everything, thank you.
My main interest is hiking and being able to use that gear to carry some basic day hiking stuff.
It would be interesting to see a video with that in mind. However, I’m assuming you would just add what you needed. I think the FLC would work pretty well for that.
Awesome video!!! Keep ‘em comin
Thanks!
Great video. Where did you get the Gondor patch?
Texas 144.1
I want someone to make an edit where it's just him smacking the equipment
I do that quite a bit haha
Slick carrier with 3 mags and belt kit to take care of the rest of your fighting load and whatever else you need that day.
Ew only 3 mags??
@@camoman132 I carry 3 additional mags on my battle belt. Total of 7. 1 being inserted.
@@camoman132 3 on my slick. 4-6 on my belt kit
@@kevinmatthews9469 3 singles? Or a x3 pouch? Either way 3 is pretty wide and takes up alot of real-estate
@@camoman132 I use a triple on the left side. It just fits for me. My IFAK is the lower back from AR500, and a lot of my bigger stuff is on the left. Balances me personally, although I doubt it would work for everyone.
If you're rich. You can have your butler carry all your stuff...Pass me a mag Jives. Great video, thank you. To this day I still struggle with what combo of equipment I want to wear.
For fuck’s sake Lucas! You’re gonna make me buy more shit that I don’t need 😂😂😂
I mean, I totally do need it!
But I kinda don’t.
You get it
I would like to find a low riding split (T.a.p.s)! that is low budget friendly.
Blackhawk makes a split front COMMANDO chest rig that, if I remember, was fairly simple and affordable.
What is the harness you have on the TAPS?
It's one from Extremegearlabs
@@VentureSurplus Have you tried the ATAPS? Does VS have any for sale?
