What?!? How did we put LEDs into old Fog Lights?

- Dweezil gets googly eyes! A small part of our #VDubRun22 goal was retrofitting LEDs into these old fog lamps. We were fortunate to get that done along with the larger goal of a complete BlueOx towbar setup and taking Dweezil to Bug Jam back in November (be sure to check out the livestreams we did!). Thanks for checking it out, now on to #VDubRun23!

Nice to see more restoration videos Brent. Keep em coming.
Thanks Thomas, we'll do our best!
Brent, you must be an engineer, I like the way your mind thinks 👍👍
Thanks Mike, you're on to something there but I changed my major because I prefer tinkering to designing. Happy New Year!
Man, you are a genius!
If only I was good at measuring and drilling, and above all, patient, I could do these projects just as well!
Thanks VochoTalacha! I hope all is well with you and yours, and Happy New Year!
They turned out great, it’s cool they don’t look like LED lights.
Thanks David!
Hey man,
Nicely done. They look shop bought all painted up . 🤪
Thanks Kevin!
Happy Holidays ! Thank you !
Thanks Neal, and Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Awesome idea and execution
Thanks Bradley!
Always great to see your videos on my home page.
Thanks hammah!
Nice job! I like your thought process and your explanation.
Thanks Tom!
those look awesome. i really enjoy this kind of problem solving in the garage. always fun the flex that part of the brain. nice work Brent!
Thanks Annie! Yeah, this the fun kind of problem solving.
Before $19.00 dollars , now $300 😃💪 great job 👏 👍 and thanks again for the new video 🙋 Happy New Year
Thanks Luis and Happy New Year to you too!
Wow super solid, love when things work out like that. I am totally into retrofitting things into older things and loving when it is a perfect fit. I recently took the heater tubes out of my 79 bus and took the asbestos cuffs off and was able to replace it with silicon hose reducers that were a PERFECT fit.
I need to do that jpipe thing too. Thanks for reminder.
Nice! Thanks for watching Skater Stimm!
@@SanDiego_VDubLife I am in San Diego too if you need any help.
What a fun and well executed mod! Well done sir!
Thanks FeveredMind and Happy New Year!
Hi Brent, nice video.the best wishes and blessings for the Year 2023 are on the way to you🇺🇸🍀🎄🇳🇴🇳🇱☮🙏🏻, Greetings.Hubertus
Thanks Hubertus, and Happy New Year to you and yours!
You made it look easier than it really was - nice work Brent!
Thanks Cliff, this was a fun project!
Nice work Brent!
Thanks Dub World!
Always thorough, always well planned and always well executed. Love your work and a great video
Thanks Aussie Beatle! Happy New Year to you and yours!
Heya Brent! Happiest of Holidays to you brother! cool video yet again!
Thanks Michael, Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Nice work
Thanks a080867!
I enjoy your solutions to problems. I’m amazed at your camera work especially under the bus. I have a single post lift that I am standing under the bus not lying down, and it is still hard to work on the shift rod and bushings. Your “adapt and overcome “ attitude keeps me watching your videos. I have 3 split busses, one single cab split window, and two single cab bays. All need work and at 80 I may not finish all!!😎😬!! I will be at NDBS 24-26 and staying at LaQuinta and dropping parts to Chad McGee and will introduce myself to you if you attend.
Regards,
Jim Morris from Charleston SC.
Thanks Jim, that sounds like an awesome collection. I had a chance to buy a single cab bay once, but didn't have the funds. I did get the double cab that was advertised with it though! Thanks for the kind thoughts about the videos, I enjoying sharing this with folks like yourself, and I'm looking forward to meeting you at No Dough. If I'm livestreaming when you see me, don't be shy!
@@HapticGarage I certainly hope to see you there. I have been going to it since it first started through many ups and downs. You are very insightful and resourceful and I like your pragmatic observations of life. I feel that I have the opportunity to save these road warriors that have such a colorful past. I’m constantly defending them living in my garage/s taking up space waiting to be restored/loved. As a friend once said “there is no twelve step program to vw/bus addiction😬. Your live streaming is great especially when you show picking at the “Bulli” style parts picking ) in front of your vw.
Til then-
Thanks again for the kind thoughts Jim. About a month away, and really looking forward to the swap!
Nice job Brent! They dont even look like they have LEDs in them!!
Thanks Levi! Yeah, I'm partial to the look of incandescent bulbs, so it was nice to hide these inside. Happy New Year!
@@HapticGarage Happy new year to you as well!
Nice !! Never would’ve thought doing it that way 👍
Thanks vwcoco! It's kinda cheating but I won't tell if you won't!
Great video, A very tidy improvement on the original foggies. I really like your bumper bar. I have not watched your videos for a while. I made some of the J pipe infill tinware under my engine you did a video on some time ago. My 1916cc engine is all tuned and running great now. Always grateful for that great upgrade of yours.
Thanks Andy! That bumper bar is part of a tow setup- it's the base plate for a Blue Ox tow bar. I really should piece together the footage from that project. It's great to know you were able to fix up your tin ware and made improvements to your engine- great work!
@@HapticGarage thanks, There is a short video of my engine running on my channel.
Your engine sounds great Andy!
@@HapticGarage Thanks.
Happy New Year my friend! Well done as usual!!
Thanks Slade and Happy New Year to you too!
Those came out sweet. As always excellent workmanship. I finally got a welder so can’t wait to learn.
Keep that eye protection on. Nothing worse than welding flash in your eyes. I have done it, it feels like sand in your eyes that is not really there. Not a good thing. Enjoy your VW.😎
Thanks San Diego! Enjoy the welder, a whole new world of possibilities has opened up for you!
Yup, I've been down that road and learned the same lesson. Thanks Andy!
very nice work Brent and that's a smart idea to mix something old with something new.
and a happy new year to you.
Thanks '55 and Happy New Year!
Watch the whole video to find out how many Brent’s it takes to change a light bulb!
Only 42; one to hold the bulb and 41 to rotate the Dweezil.
Happy New Year brother, love your videos man!! Cool upgrade man!
Thanks Jason, Happy New Year to you too!
Nice job. Happy New Year.
Thanks Vintage 76 and Happy New Year to you too!
Hi Brent been wondering what you’ve been up to. Happy New Year.
Me too
Hey Robert, yeah it's been a couple months. Glad to surface again and always happy to hear from you!
