Thank you, Scott, for sharing your train with us! What happy memories you have setting this train up with your dad. Merry Christmas, my friend. God bless you. 👼🧑🎄🎄
You put a smile on my face, just love it. My Dad and brother both had Lionel’s my brother still has both. Merry Christmas Scott 🎄. Thanks for all you wonderful posts, nothing like vintage Christmas. 🎄
As usual you're taking me back to happy childhood times. My parents made Christmas magical for us kids, as they grew up in the Depression and didn't have much. Merry Christmas Scott!! 🎀✨🎄🕊✨🎀
I am sure that the set up will look great when you are done with it, Scott. Please take good care of yourself. Perhaps, you should have a big mug of hot tea with honey and lemon, and a double shot of something for medicinal purposes. Do be well and be happy.
Oh Scott, i was thrilled to see this special train again! My Daddy bought me an Elco set in the early 50's before he passed in 54 but my little brothers nearly destroyed it. Over the years my mom made sure that it was salvaged and gifted it to me and i found a train guy a few years ago to refurbish it. I had two engines, a flatcar, a box car, the caboose and the transformer. I passed it on to my adult son a few years ago but have never seen it set up. Thank you for showing us your treasure🥰🎄🎄🎄🎄
That was fun, Scott. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I’d never seen one of these trains in action. I see why they were, and still are, so treasured. Thank you! Merry Christmas!
So cool to see Scott 🚂! I vaguely remember the tracks & feeling quite capable being able to hook them together as a 3-4 year old . My two older brothers were the real engineers. How magical it was under the tree in the evening with Christmas music playing softly🎄. Why come to think of it, I think that was the Christmas I swear I actually saw Santa 🎅 from my bedroom window flying in the dark moonlit sky. Sleigh & reindeers too…for real! ❤
Yay🎉 I have vivid memories of a slot racing car set in about 1964-65's Christmas. I remember the sparks, that buzzing sound while it was connecting to start moving, and the size of the cars being so much bigger than today's race tracks. I remember my Dad using black electric tape to affix coins onto the cars, which I believe was to weigh them down to prevent them from spinning out in the curves. I was about four or five years old.
When I watched you match up those tracks to connect them, it was as though I just did that yesterday. My brother, 1947-1972 also had a Lionel train that we all used to play with. Such a memory! So glad you went to the trouble to bring the old train out!
Oh! Merry Christmas, Scott. I didn’t think you were going to run the train this year! I can’t tell you how happy it has made me to see your train running around the tree. Thank you so very much for this vid. For many years we had many sizes of trains running around at Christmas, and lots of other times as well. Everything from a very small train on my son’s long-ish desk, and in the entire living room (where the tree was) to my old Lionel, and then the big LGB. It was wonderful. Thank you very, very much. But please get well.
It was so cool and to think I am as old as that train, however, I can't run that fast.It was so wonderful seeing a train that brought a smile to my face and my inner child out.
Good Heavens, Scott, that train is an antique! It is only two years younger than me! LOL 😆. Wishing a very merry Christmas to you, your family and friends and to all of your viewers 😊.
Thanks for setting up the train under your tree. It is the perfect finishing touch for your beautiful Christmas decorations. I’ve been sharing your earlier decorations video and everyone loves it. Merry Christmas
What a fun video! Special memories for you about your Dad and Christmas. My brothers had a little train set from the 60's. I remember them working to set it up on Christmas morning. Fun video!
Merry Christmas Scott. It’s so nice to see the train out and running again this year. I can’t believe it’s been five years since you last had it set up. I hope whatever you have clears up soon. If not, please go to the doctor. Again, Merry Christmas to you and your family.🎄🚂🕊️😉
Scott, I know that 'toy train smell' very, very well! It wasn't Christmas at my childhood home without my brother's toy train set up under the tree! Since he was quite a bit older than me I had to 'beg' him to let me 'drive the train'! Every once in a while, if he was feeling generous, he would allow me to turn the handle on the transformer! I would grin from ear to ear, until he would tell me, "OK, that's enough!" LOL! Thank you for sharing this with us! It's great to see the 'old girl' up and running again! 😍
That was so fun! What a great set you have. I remember my HO train set and how I loved it. Still have mine and hubs has a nice Lionel set NJ Central. Enjoy and thanks for sharing 😊
I thought you all might enjoy this video I found on the YT page Decorative Arts Center. It is in Ohio. The title of the video is Fantastic Plastic Christmas Tour. It is a museum tour. Last year they made a Victorian Christmas decor video. They are excellent. MERRY Christmas Scott and everyone!

It makes me so happy to see your Dad's train out again this year!! I think we all missed it last Christmas! ❤❤
It is good to see your train running around the track. Even better to hear the joy in your laugh. Take care. Merry Christmas!
I can smell it. I can smell it. Thank you Scott. You are a great gift to us all.
My Grandpop always had the train up in the creepy basement.

Did you ever put something on the track to cause chaos?!
I did 😚
😅
Good for you! 😊
@@maryscott_50 It was a plastic pig from my tin barn 😊
@@elderlypoodle9181 😂👍
Snidely Whiplash!
Played with a large gage set like this and I do remember the smell. Lots of fun.
Covid is going around in my neck of the woods.... wouldn't hurt to get checked. I wish it would just go away! Hope you feel better soon.
That was so fun! What a great set you have. I remember my HO train set and how I loved it. Still have mine and hubs has a nice Lionel set NJ Central. Enjoy and thanks for sharing 😊
Fun! Thanks, Scott!
Merry Christmas to you and yours! 😍
Merry Christmas! Love the train content!
That was so fun!
Haha! I love it!
Merry Christmas Scott ❤❤
Track is moving on the wood surface. My cats would love the train. Not too sure about the whistle--unless it may sound like a bird! 😊
That’s very cool Scott.
Merry Christmas
Love it😊
I love the setup. But as far as the speed, I think you were exceeding the max lateral Gs that a real train could withstand in those turns. LOL!
Way to go y
brot
Way to go. My brother got one in the late 50s

That's so cool! Do you have to put water in fore the steam?
Is the smell ozone? The train is fun to watch and so is your channel.
Quality lasts😊😊😊
Did you ever lay icicles on the track for the train to run over?Boy, did that make sparks.
I’m older than your train! 😂
What a treasure
Woo wooo
☺❤💚❤💚❤💚👏
I never had a train set, but I did get a Johnny Lightening set for Christmas when I was 10. 🚉 This was really fun.
