My daughter and I were in a shop recently. She was amazed at how cheap beautiful vintage furniture was going for and that was antique shop prices! I told her next time she needed some furniture, ditch Ikea and try some resell stores. Less expensive, better quality and best of all it’s already assembled! You have excellent taste, sir. Thanks for another glimpse into your cosy home.
Years from now people will be talking about the different styles used in different time periods and they'll say the 2000's were the Ikea period.😅 Thank goodness for us that still use antiques.
Thank you Scott! I have an antique table that needs that treatment! I’m so glad to find out I don’t have to refinish the top just for a few scratches. I’ve been using the scratch cover, but I didn’t know to use the 0000 steel wool. I love this video and would be interested in seeing other ways to take care of old furniture. I have a collection of old things from Goodwill and other thrift stores. I can’t imagine having all brand new furniture. It would not make me happy. Love seeing your pretty 1925 bungalow.❤
I love your Eastlake table and also the lamp too. I have several pieces of my great grandmother's Eastlake marble top tables and I love them. I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas stay safe and watch out for those drones 😂
Thank you for showing us again how to put a little scratch cover on furniture and then coat it with beeswax! The table looks lovely now. I think the dresser scarf looks lovely with the little round tapestry in the center.❤️
Who knew a marble topped table could cloud your sleep! I’ve always wanted one 😕. I’ll just continue to put my glass on the floor hoping it stands! I guess a mausoleum is out of the question
Hi Scott, I can't believe i have a marble top table similar to yours in my bedroom as well. Thankfully it's not on my side of the bed! I do like the new one and I'm sure you will appreciate the drawer space. Because I'm a nurse, I picked up on some "breathlessness" coming from you? Remember, fluids and rest and hope you take care!
The new, even older, table looks great there, Scott. That was a great find and an even better deal. I like the curtains in that room. If you had told me that they were carefully selected for the room, I would have believed you without a second thought. Merry Christmas to you, your family and friends.
Both tables are lovely Scott, but I think the second one picks up the bed colour better than the first, and two drawers are a definite bonus. The lamp is is a nice touch, and the clock is perfect at the bedside. That bed cover is sublime, and appears in excellent condition. Thanks for sharing, and now you can repair the marble top table leg like new.🖤🇨🇦
Looks great! You can put books and snacks in those drawers. Or a CD player with 30's music to lull you to sleep. 😊 That's a great lamp too. I hauled a bed like that home from an auction in a 1977 Impala. You could live in a 77 trunk they are so big. lol Also hauled a formica table and a trunks full from curb diving... Oh the good ol days. :-)
Thank you for my daily lesson. I do enjoy learning about stuff from you. I have my Grandmother's marble top table like that, it was probably her mother's. And I have my Great Aunt's 1940s bed frame that looks a lot like the corner of the one you showed us. My head board needs to be oiled or waxed or something is looks dry but i'm affraid what ever I do will get on the pillow cases. What do you suggest?
Hi again, you still sound under the weather a bit. If you're feeling unwell, you drink hot tea and rest. I love your videos, but we would all like you to feel better. 💐 🫖
I think the table swap was an improvement indeed! Looks so nice! But you had me clenching my teeth while you splashed that Old English scratch cover so close to your light wall and draperies. That stuff stains something awful. Glad you kept the splatter under control, 😅
The empire work table is a great piece, and looks perfect next to your bed. I'm envious, since I have an empire dresser, and it would be perfect in my room! I think a warm, tannish green would be nice for your room. I've used a Sherwin-Williams color, Urban Jungle (forgive the name), neutral but interesting, and it looks great with mahogany furniture and gilt or black frames (my walls are covered with antique prints). My two cents worth. Always fun to watch you decorating!
Thank you for the furniture info ,I have a oval eastlake from mom that looks like your table. I like you side table you changed out and your doileys . Merry Christmas Scot.
Im with you Scott i love to use Howard's as i have a lot of oak furniture and have used it for yrs they get prettier as it ages.you cant beat minwax my oak door gets a fresh coat every other year no spar is ever put on it ,sand and apply a fresh coat.have a very merry Christmas.
I like that table a lot. It looks better in that space than the marble topped table. I am going to try that Old English scratch cover job on my grandfather's desk that his father made for him! It has to be well over 100 years old. Mom had it and I ended up with it after she passed.
Scott, As much as I like Eastlake style furniture, that Empire style piece really compliments your bed frame nicely. It's a bit more 'masculine/angular' and more 'you'. I love it! Also, that 1940's bed coverlet is EVERYTHING!
I have always had glass cut to protect the tops of our wood furniture. My Mom and Dad did the same thing. Is that the equivalent of putting plastic wrap on a sofa? 🤣🤣🤣
Old Victorian marble top tables are my fave, also love all the Eastlake furniture! My house is full of it!ooh!!! Please only rub with the grain of the wood!!!!!Not in circles!

Scott, thanks for showing us how to do a quick freshen up of our furniture.
Love the bedside table!
Love the lamp.
Absolutely love that table, looks amazing in your bedroom !!
I love the table & the lamp is very beautiful

Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy year ahead. Take care darling xx

I agree,Scott, this table does look better there. A little change and voila! Lookin’ good.
I like that table better also...seems warmer already...😊
Love the headboard!
Great job, looks great and yes I’m coveting that bronze bedspread!!🇨🇦🎄
Very nice table...looks so good beside your bed. And at a great price to boot!!!
Glad that piece found its way into your home, who can appreciate its age and value.
Love, love your bedspread!! Also love educational videos like this one!
fifteen dollars?!!! What a steal! 👍🏻😉
Love to see your bedroom and how you styled. Thanks. Merry Christmas.
I love the click of the old lamp. I’m going to do some thrifting and find one that clicks like that! Beautiful!
I really love your empire style table ❤ I like the knobs.
Scott, great video. I always learn from your show and tell. I shipped Christmas boxes and thanks to you I did a great job packing. You are the best.😊❤
Lovely table. Perfect in that corner and to compliment the bed. 😀

Scott I love the bed spread. I happen to have the same one but in chartreuse. 😊
It looks beautiful Scott. You did such a nice job on it 👏🏻😊. You seem to be feeling better 👍🏻. Have a good night. 🕊️🎄
Agreed in that the wooden night stand looks so much better than the marble one.
I move my antique furniture around all the time. Drives my husband crazy 😅
My sister and I are the only people on the planet who wear our furniture out from the bottom up😂😂😂

Bedside drawers are a must! Gotta have a place to put the Rawleigh Ointment when your nose is stuffy.
You do good work😊
I just found your channel and absolutely love the new table! Wow, what a good buy!

Really nice table and lamp. You are correct it is an Aladdin lamp made in Alexandria Indiana.

Might give your face frostbite 😂Don't let a drone take you away .Looks nice Scott❤
Good lesson on furniture maintenance. 😊❤
I LOVE the nightlight on that lamp! What a deal on the new table.
I'd love to find such a table especially for that price. Thanks for showing this! Target had some bedside tables for $120 that were sad things.
What a handsome bedroom. I too love the min products and Howard feed and wax.
Lovely bedspread. Room needs your magic art deco to match the clock!
Thanks Scott, good information. I have to try this on some pieces of furniture. The table is gorgeous & looks perfect as a night stand. Love the lamp!

I have a few lamps like that but I can't figure out how to replace the lower bulb😢
Looks good.😊😊😊
I have 2 marble top tables in my bungalow 's living room. 1 a turtle top. Nothing better to avoid scratches & stains
Scott, As much as I like Eastlake style furniture, that Empire style piece really compliments your bed frame nicely. It's a bit more 'masculine/angular' and more 'you'. I love it! Also, that 1940's bed coverlet is EVERYTHING!
I love lemon oil, I use it on all my antique furniture a couple times a year. Makes things look revived for sure.
I have always had glass cut to protect the tops of our wood furniture. My Mom and Dad did the same thing.
Is that the equivalent of putting plastic wrap on a sofa? 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Scot ❤
Now I’m inspired to polish and wax! Remind me in the spring. Have been meaning to ask, is your house a Sears Kit House?
I like it, I love it. : )
Old Victorian marble top tables are my fave, also love all the Eastlake furniture! My house is full of it!ooh!!! Please only rub with the grain of the wood!!!!!Not in circles!
I love old English. If it's not broke. Don't fix it. Old sayings still carry weight
Nice Scott.
Aloha 🌺🥰🥰🥰
I have that Aladdin lamp.
Are you pleased with the difference Scott?
❤
Are you a nudge???The table is lovely in it's place.
What is a nudge?
Yes, explain …a nudge please 🇨🇦
🥦🟦 very enjoyable, watching a man do his housework. I’m a gonner if we watch you do the dish❤
