Rubber Soul being a concept album about "love" is very similar to the feel that Brian Wilson put on his (Capitol) Rubber Soul inspired album, Pet Sounds.
Candy put it perfectly. "It went from boy/girl to man/woman." perfect way to describe their 1965-1966 writing.
