Probably the greatest Tender Garage of them all! In addition to seven tenders, two liferafts, and an remotely operated submersible vehicle, Octopus is capable of housing an SUV and two helicopters in the garage. Her floodable stern-access dock is home to a Pagoo, a submarine accommodating eight guests and two crew that can dive for up to eight hours. There's a glass bottomed underwater observation lounge, a dive centre a hyperbaric chamber on board, along with a beach club with bar, of course ;)
Octopus is perhaps one of the best known explorers on the water. The 126 metre Lürssen hit the water in 2003, commissioned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, and was designed for far-flung global adventures. She has two helipads on board, one fore and one aft, with a hangar that can store two aircraft. Since her delivery, Octopus has explored the coast of Antarctica, traversed the Northwest Passage and discovered the wrecks of long-lost WW2 battleships off the Philippines.
Autonomous in every respect, the yacht's hybrid propulsion system gives her a maximum speed of 19kn and a transoceanic range of approximately 12,500nm at her economical speed of 12.5kn.

Arguably the greatest super yacht ever made. There may be others that are bigger and newer, but I'd take Octopus every single time without hesitation.

I’m with you. I love Octopus and wonder whether she will find a new owner as dedicated as Paul Allen. I’d have this over any of the more glamorous super yachts

It's the only yacht that I know that actually has an aviation hanger.
@@Glidescube most yachts over 100m will have a hangar.
On eclipse, for example the helipad itself has a lift which stows away the helo below deck.

It was in copenhagen a few tears back. I`m driving across a bridge, about a mile away from the ship, but I couln`t help but notice it anyway, it`s an amazing yacht.

This super yacht follows the tradition of exploration science vessel of Jaques Cousteau's legendary Calypso from the 1970s. The Calypso started the modern expidition yacht.
My yacht garage can only fit one helicopter. I need to upgrade. :(

This yacht spent sometime is the Philippines to do some under water exploration.

Hey, it had a major refit at Blohm and Voss in 2019 which might explain what you heard, but was definitely built by Lurssen in the early 2000s :)
