great video. my wife is in the police academy right now. I have been learning about the job to help her and doing that has gotten me interested in pursuing law enforcement as well. I grew up in a small town and our police department was less than amazing. most of the time the officers were there because they couldn't get a job anywhere else. I could probably fill a book with with strange and bizarre things I was detained or ticketed for. the upside to this is that I learned very quickly that you don't argue you don't fight you definitely don't run, just keep it yes sir, no sir and take it up with the judge. After 4 or 5 cases from the same officer being dismissed or found not guilty take your paperwork up to a city council meeting. No city wants to deal with a lawsuit so they will deal with the problem. This was 20 years ago before all the departments had cameras so today it should be much easier to deal with improperly trained officers. For the defund the police crowd how about you go live in a small town where the officers only make $15 an hour I can guarantee you will be begging for better officers. thanks again for the great videos and keep up the good work!
Low pay is a problem everywhere, for most first responders and teachers. This does not excuse any improper behavior. Glad you found a way to resolve your issue. I have often thought about trying to find a small department looking for a new chief, and try to go in and make a difference. I hope your wife remains safe and you are guided to your calling.
Your videos helped me when I was in the process of transferring from a bad department to a much better one. Your videos helped me create a better life for my family. Thank you!
I appreciate the kind words. Good luck on the exam, hope it goes well. Confidence and practice will prepare you for the interview. Here if you need me.
Thanks for the content! Your videos are awesome! I’m applying in Canada! If you know of any differences, or if you have tips, that would make for an interesting video!
I'll have to do some research about Canada, I would think that the mindset they are looking for is the same. Integrity, professionalism and a desire to serve are common for all law enforcement officers. Good luck, I'll do some research.
Great video. Ive learned so much from your videos. Thanks so much! I have passed all the testing but I failed the Oral Board. I'm reaching out to see if you provide individual oral board training? I need help and I'm not giving up. Thanks, hope to hear from you soon.
