I took mine today, it was aweful!. I was accused of deception on the dumbest section. I was able to articulate and debunk the accusations. I was 1000% honest and was told i lied. In the end, i was told i made it to the next step. 4.5 hrs of HELL! They even asked me if i have had sex with animals and children!

They must’ve found something in my transparency they felt was a red flag (the questions got really weird and I was honest) I was notified today they’re no longer considering me. I sent in my application a month ago and just received a group text from the detective/ recruiter I met at the agility test site, advising he will host an interview skill class “to prepare us for the oral board interview” . What do you think this means? Is this something Police departments normally do? If yes, does it mean they didn’t disqualify my application and are looking to move forward with the hiring process? Sir, I appreciate your videos. I have a realistic question and would really appreciate an honest answer. I am 59, fitter than most guys that are in their twenties. I train 6 days a week and have done so for 45 years. I have always wanted to be a police officer, but on the two occasions I applied my applications were cut short for reasons out of my control. The first was due to the Sheriff's department downsizing, through no fault of their own. The second time was also in CA. The San Diego Police were leaving SD and transferring due to unknown reason. This stopped my application as they decided to take on laterals rather than new hires. After that period, I entered into a 15-year career in management in the energy sector, but in the last year the bottom has dropped out of the industry. I got laid off due to the company folding. I still have the drive and ambition to follow my dream again but are a little discouraged due to possible discrimination of my age. The PAT to me is a breeze. I would appreciate your thoughts. Am I wasting my time even applying?

I have 13 years of experience, a Detective, and have worked on murder cases. Sometimes, it doesn't matter how hard you work or how much you know. It can be as simple as being from the South!

There was a time when an officer’s professional appearance had a positive impact on the public. Now with the facial beards and full arm tattoos most cops are seen as just another everyday dude with a badge and gun, not worthy of respect.

Hi ! I have my oral interview on Thursday ( Dec 19) today is Dec 14 so I wanted to go over a small mock interview to help me get through this process, do you offer practice sessions

This is just not the experience I have had going into my last one. We get asked obviously if we think we can read people or not. I sat down for 10 minutes with the guy and he asked me basic things like work history and such. Then he drops a blatant lie to me. Something I knew was a lie. But I didn’t call him out cause he controls the fate of my future career. Well he said I can’t read people and I didn’t get the job cause he didn’t recommend me.

So it might be helpful to go over the questions in the background questionnaire questions that GIVING A YES ANSWER to will DQ an applicant. Such as sexual misconduct even before the age of 18. Maybe it might be helpful to let applicants know that undetected crimes that get uncovered will also impact DQ decisions. Let me have a link to the video should you create this vlog?
