Ah! So let’s say, for example, a unit has a high move and can run and charge. They might be out of range to get the “all out attack” command in the combat phase if, said hero, didn’t run in the movement phase.
Hey guys not sure if you jave picked this up but the obr terrain price can only be deployed in your own deployment zone now. So you can't put it in the center of the table and it has changed to be put down the same time as other terrain pieces from other armies
Soul blight book was designed for 3rd edition. And it’s a bit too early to judge everything just yet! New lists and adaptations will arise. Old gimmicks will die for the most part.
Think any army that needs or likes having big units are downright screwed. Unless 3.0 books have a squad option and horde options for the same model so squad is 5 while horde is 10 or 15. with reinforcements points you can still make big units then.
Still new to AoS 3.0, as I have barely been playing AoS 2.0 OBR. at 18:09, Luka says that he doesnt have a ward save, because nobody isnt nearby. Doesnt the Hekatos still give the 6+ FNP?
gw mentioned obr was getting a massive rewrite for the faq. we can speculate as to whether or not they'll be beholden the generic rules for command ability use or not. But as they stand right now I think theyre just too flawed to feel fun
With the FAQ release, Try similar list in Petrifex Elites but probobly remove 1 Death rider unit and have 2x 20 Mortek Guard. Skip the Wizard and the Kavalos Liege, try to fit in Arkhan the Black instead! casting multiple Mystic Shields, buffing 2-3 units +1 save. Whole Army lowering enemy rend by 1. Shield wall where fight is thickest And where you need to punch Harder increase your rend by 1! The sub faction Luka chose right now feels very.. Bad tbh.
Heroic Leadership does not just give u a command point. The rules state: "..you receive 1 command point that can only be spent during that turn to allow that Hero to issue a command."
Kinda like that take on the OBR with only 1 large unit. I feel like alot of factions will default to that 1 anvil + msu approach with the new command limitations. That said, imho it's hard to justify a monster that isn't also a commander. As fantastic as Gothizars are, slotting them into a list can be awkward. I reckon we'll see more Arkhan now- as a monster, hero, and with the arcane bolt changes he's quite the threat while still being able to support his anvil.
I play Crematorians!!! Thank you for running this as I had a huge amount of questions concerning the Relentless Discipline interaction. So I get all the RD abilities and CPs as well but still only once per phase? So one shieldwall/endless duty?
Yeah unfortunately :/ on the bright side no sight of that rule so far that stops obr from using generic command abilities so sure one unit can shield wall but you all out defence the other to soften the blow I guess
How shaky you want the camera be? Steve: Yes I love Miniwargaming because youre the first channel that has consistently produced decent batreps. But I feel that the quality got stuck in 2016.. other channels doing way better batreps without the eathquake cam. You should think about your quality and not rely on quantity
Luka, dude, breathe! As an anxious rambler myself I get it, though. Anyway, 2+ save with no rend has to go away. We are limiting buffs and debuffs, limiting command ability spamming etc...And then we have these multiwound, inmortal snakes with infinite movement and over the curve DPS flyiing around on the battlefields.

It’s a matter of efficiency and balance.The ability to cause huge amounts of mortal wounds is extremely rare (and toxic for the game, by the way. That should not be a thing in any army) and these fishes are easily spammable. If we continue this trend, making prominent a mechanic that bypasses a lot of core interactions (to wound rolls, save rolls etc…), everything is going to have to be rebalanced around that and the game will be poorer because of it.
Curious, but has there been anything official saying OBR can't use their Discipline Points more than once a round? I know they're "used like command points", but the article on them didn't mention one way or the other (and those articles are generally worthless). I'm assuming each army will get a FAQ day1 or nearly, but wondering if it's been addressed anywhere specifically?
I don’t think there has been any direct address of it, this the clamoring for a FAQ ASAP haha. I’m interested to see how they make them unique given the new rules.
The rules state that the same command ability cannot be used more than once per phase. The allegiance ability says that bonereapers do not use command points but instead use relentless discipline, however, these points may only be used on command abilities that appear on ossiarch bonereapers waracrolls or the unstoppable advance ability. So as read, you can't use those command abilities more than once per phase

Hey guys, great batrep, but do keep in mind that the rules for initiative have changed. If you deployed first you *have* to take the first turn in the first battleround in the Battlepack 2021. 😉
In the 2021 battle pack it advises for match play that you get to choos who goes first but not in matched play it it who ever finished deploying first goes first
@@kyletregloan5365 yeah re read the entire thing and it is whoever deploys first gets the initiative, meaning that this players gets to choose who goes first in the first battle round. A new edition takes a while to get your head around 😀

Actually new OBR aren't that bad. They're are one of the few faction that have option to have stable +2 to save rolls (so +1 to save and rend reduction of one) on more then one unit. Is it enough to recompansate all of the things they didn't get in the new edition? I cannot yet say but I've played more then a few games already and I think they're ok. Luka, try this in the next battle report: Katakros Arkhan 30 x Mortek Guard 2x10 Mortek Guard 2 x Mortek Crawlers Total of 1960 pts Or this: Katakros Nagash 3x10 Mortek Guard Gemnids of Ulg-Hysh (or Burning Head just to teleport Nagash) Total of 1940 pts It should provide much better results.
Most likely OB underpowered. The only army that got hit as hard is Hedonites of Slaanesh. But unlike HoS, Bonereapers had most of their gimmicks transferred to core rules that every army can use, and a lot of the battletome has either been straight up nerf (shieldwall) or nerfed by virtue of being redundant with core rules.
OBR are so underpowered as to be almostt unplayable. Luka also picked Crematorians, which only work if you run large blocks of Mortek and the 3.0 rules make that difficult. OBR desperately need a day 1 FAQ/errata.
@@heathenpride7931 Yeah i'm surprised they even filmed this. It was obvious that OBR is in need of FAQ and the rules writers (Ben Johnson IIRC) said that there's one coming soon. (probably this week or next). IMO it just makes the army look bad when you're filming these things with none of the "patches" that would make the army playable. I love my skelly bois and will keep playing them throughout 3rd with my skaven, but this just seems like a waste of time.
Luka seems to enjoy just throwing his troops forward in a blind rush, regardless of what game or army he's playing. I haven't done the math, but my gut says that his win rate is way below 50%.
When I saw command points in 3.0 work like OBR I was instantly annoyed, basically make the Bonereapers ununique. I don't see there also being any advantage for OBR to ever go second, as they don't get a bonus from it... Unless I'm missing something?
The command point for going second is more damage control than anything else anyway. Most of the time you are going to take that sweet sweet double turn But yeah, we can only hope that they do something for their new battletome, or they are going to feel pretty bad
I am not sure the folks who wrote the rules know what "strategy" means. "Kill the enemy leaders" isn't exactly high-end war craft, let alone a grand strategy. Love to see the stabby wet elves. Thanks, gentlemen.
If you see Age of Sigmar (correctly) as a reaction to Warmahordes' encroachment on GW's market share, AoS' design becomes easier to explain: it's a skirmish game that emphasizes generals with aura abilities.

As a OBR player this was so cringe to watch. Running 10 death riders and a liege kavalos and not running them as stalliarch lords is borderline throwing the game. Mortisan soulmason is probably the worst unit in the roster too. I don't think OBR are in such a bad place atm.
This wasn’t even a battle. The deepkin just steamrolled everything they went up against. Is it the game that sucks. Deep kin are overpowered. Luca played badly. Steve played well. Lucky and unlucky rolls?
Deepkin eels are a bit OP, but Ossiarchs are broken by the new edition. Most of their cool mechanics were given for free to everyone else, and they don't get to benefit from the new commands.
The OBR player forgot a few of his rules, didn't play particularly well and ended up playing an optimized competitive deepkin list. His is a fun casual list up against a well tuned list you wouldn't find out of place in a tournament.
It's going to be interesting how GW changes bonereapers in 3.0. Most of their gimmicks were just made into core rules for all armies

Hey, I noticed you guys not using heroic leadership correctly. According to 7.1, you gain a cp but it can only be spent by the hero who earned it.
What options does that leave for the CP? I’m still learning 3rd Ed and want to do it right. (I guess we are all learning huh?)

@@GaryArkham while that is very strong, they have no mortal wound wards, and low bravery. almost every army has a good way to deal mortal wounds.

Flying eels and sharks fighting huge skeleton construct horses. This is why leaving Fantasy for AoS was a good idea!
