Based tier list! There are some changes I would make but I think you explained your reasons well when placing units so I understand where you are coming from.
I've been playing HSR for more than 250 days now, and seeing the tierlist he made is... eh. It's plenty clear that he's not played that much with his bimonthly HSR streams. He talks about dmg per screenshot players, but he himself is sleeping on Kafka and DoT units. There are a lot of characters I'd switch around in ranks, but I don't expect many people to take it seriously, since Zajef is first and foremost a Genshin TC and just an HSR player. It's honestly giving me SU Tierlist vibes from a couple of months ago, lol.
When Dan Heng IL came out he was so fucking broken that every other DPS was brought down several tiers from the community's trusted tier list maker (pywren) and most people agreed, his damage output is insane and it does not matter how many skill points he needs to use because all the broken supports for him are skill point positive, and hanabi is also coming and she completely ignores dan heng's IL skill point usage and just gives him 4 skill points for free on demand. Just because Jinglu is better it does not make DHIL any less broken, the gap in strenght between him and the rest of the DPS that are not Jinglu are really significant.
He still has higher DPS than Jingliu, Jingliu just got up a tier because the FH was designed around her, but if you look at their calcs his is still higher.
Fr people just see the Prydwen tier list (hate it so much) and so her above him by a whole tier, then act like there really is that big of a difference. Do I think Jingliu is better? Yea, but not by that much at all, they both rule this game dps wise.

Yea, the food is burnt. We have pretty consistent MoC avg. clear data that begs to differ. This is the first MoC Jingliu has ever managed to clear above DanHeng IL. but even this MoC. Jingliu > Dan > Kafka > JingYuan > Seele on average clear speed and it usually is just the same, but Dan above Jingliu.
I kinda think Silverwolf is higher, maybe a bit worse than Peela because of single target and skill point neutral, but def res is still very rare in the game and having them on both sides is invaluable
would say sw is better for hunt dps and generally worse outside of that unless there's 1 target you need to kill to complete the wave. Her damage output is better than Pela's and she's more often +1 sp every 3 turns than neutral since her debuff lasts 3 turns (and you get ult back with 2xbasic + skill with tutorial and er rope), she's neutral at E1 though if you want a 2 turn ult with atk% rope.
Important thing to note is that SW cannot ult on turn 1 which is very important for a defense down support, whereas pela can. This is important for frontloading damage on the first rotation and is where SW loses a lot of value and slows down the entire clear speed of the team. That said, mono quantum is very flexible with SW + Fu, SW + Sparkle and will will be perfectly suitable in most content. Having just cleared Pure Fiction, I can also confirm that Silver Wolf is basically F tier in that mode please just use pela there.
I may be biased but 4 star Dan Heng is alright imo. Sure I can’t run him as a single dps in moc 10+ but he still does good dmg for a 4 star. Ofc not better than qq but still decent, B tier or low A tier if e6, max traces and insane relics.
@@kklap3219 Dan Heng takes 1 skill point, Welt takes 1 and Bronya might take 1 sometimes (e1 Bronya moment). It doesn’t really take that many skill points so I don’t get your attempt at “gotcha” here.
@@blakedout it only makes sense if your welt is basic attacking A LOT, and you have a luocha that will never skill. The moment bronya skills, your SP literally should drop to 0 with that comp, unless your welt is cosmetic.
Definitely broken but not as much as Fu Xuan and Loucha. They are skill points positive and also easily solo sustain. I personally would rank them all at the highest tier with Fu Xuan > Loucha > Huo Huo

@@editimpact66 Would say Luocha's sustain is far more reliable than Huohuo's and you have the option of 100% field uptime with S4+Post-op/his sig or generating a lot more sp with multiplication (to the point where you easily have effectively 200+ speed with it). I'd put Bronya and Ruan Mei over Fu, but yeah Fu and Luocha after them.

Ngl as someone with E0 seele with lightcone , she really feels like she belongs down there sometimes. Its so hard to use her in MOC and in swamp disaster where mobs have more than 300k hp and she cant be fully utilized. Shes literally the barrier between me clearing moc and not clearing moc. The moment i dropped her for some erudition or destruction team , i cleared moc lol...
Seele really needs good hypercarry support with Hanya/Ting and Bronya. In SU I've seen her hit a million on her skill alone with proper blessings, never mind her ult - she's just hungry for those buffs
March 7 is so underrated... She's a go to support unit with permafreeze, cleanse and a taunt. You literally can take 0 damage with a lot of elite enemies with just M7, if you know their patterns. Having played Fu Xuan in MoC 12-2, I would even say that M7 provided a lot more sustainability than Xuan. Lynx is extremely good too, but I feel like she needs a lot more investment

Paradoxically, Zajef seems like the guy who would enjoy HSR more than Genshin, since it's a game that actually has endgame content that is *really* difficult and needs to be built around. It seems that with Genshin his theorycrafting skills are kinda wasted, since all of Abyss can be completed with a blindfold on if you have enough characters with favge and press Q a bunch of times. There's meta in genshin, there's also an even more complex combat system than hi3 and also HSR. The problem in genshin was never meta nor powercreep but the lack of units that fill a variety of elements and weapons. In 3 years of the game we don't have a hydro claymore character , but we got a dendro claymore char at the last patches of Sumeru in 2023. Meta is just the most efficient technique to achieve, and the meta for genshin was national and it's derivatives and now it's also national but with dendro reactions, etc.
did you actually call star rail difficult???! brother you are coping *hard* there isnt much to theory craft about star rail. every character pretty much has 1 team. genshin has superior gameplay and requires much more strategy than star rail. it just sucks that the genshin devs are complete ass also, the tierlist is surprisingly not even that bad. sure his placements are low, but they all are understandable anyways. your tierlist will actually be even worse or a regurgitation at best.
Tbh for a full comparison, DHIL uses like 29SP (including ult stacks) He does have really good damage but he is really restricted to units like luocha, e6 yukong, tingyun
sure, but he's absolutely not even close to a bad or mid unit lol a little overhyped, sure, but he's really strong and although his teams are a little restrictive there are still some options i play mainly DHIL/E6Tingyun/E6Asta/Fu Xuan, with the asta slot sometimes being Pela or Ruan Mei, and he's still running over everything for reference, my second main team is Jingliu/E1Blade/Ruan Mei/E6Lynx, and DHIL still has a better performance
Jingliu and Dan heng IL are very close to each other in terms of damage however jingliu dosen't consume so much of your skill points, but with his e2 he crushes jingliu and it's not even close. Sparkle will make him insane and he's gonna be the best dps again with her
To be honest from an objective standpoint comparing the units against eachother in moc and gg this is not even that inaccurate some ppl in the comments just mad their favorite damage unit is nowhere in the same realm as or bring any type of value compared to jingliu
Seele is like the one of the fastest characters to clear/per cycle, her team is the second best, I think? Only beaten by Jingliu, Dan heng is up there too, the normal version,

@@yahia5476 For this cycle specifically yes, I don't remember last time Normal Danheng was this high tho. Jingliu and Danheng IL generally tend to compete for fastest clear, with Jingliu generally taking the lead, but to be fair a lot of the recent MoC favour her more than him. I would still rank her higher (although definitely not to the same extent Zajeff does) due to the existence of Bronya and her having more versatility in both team comp and arguably the content she can challenge. Seele is just... okay. She's not as bad as Zajeff seems to think, but she's often not that great either. New MoCs have tankier and tankier trash mobs, which you often can't kill in 1-2 attacks, early game not only MoC buff was clearly built around her (giving hunt and erudition free advance forward every cycle) but enemies were generally squishy enough to allow her to trigger Resurgence multiple times in a boss fight thanks to very weak trash mobs (even at mediocre investment) which put her above the other DPSs available (other than QQ who wasn't particularly known to be strong due to how rng she was, and to be fair most people wouldn't have had E4 QQ at the time)

Gotta love this very hot take, tho most is accurate. But as a seele main, I Am Disappointed. Yes she isnt top tier, but because i have build her quite well and with her pretty binary playstyle (cus getting kills = more turns, aka more energy and dmg) my seele is above this threshold my seele is probs equal to a tier dps’. Moreover i know zajeff doesnt know much abt hsr so this is more me defending my fellow seele enjoyers over informing people that seele is goated, (which she is for me who had put in like 3 months of fuel)

Paradoxically, Zajef seems like the guy who would enjoy HSR more than Genshin, since it's a game that actually has endgame content that is *really* difficult and needs to be built around. It seems that with Genshin his theorycrafting skills are kinda wasted, since all of Abyss can be completed with a blindfold on if you have enough characters with favge and press Q a bunch of times. Really odd. The tier list is hot garbage btw
There's meta in genshin, there's also an even more complex combat system than hi3 and also HSR.
The problem in genshin was never meta nor powercreep but the lack of units that fill a variety of elements and weapons. In 3 years of the game we don't have a hydro claymore character , but we got a dendro claymore char at the last patches of Sumeru in 2023.
Meta is just the most efficient technique to achieve, and the meta for genshin was national and it's derivatives and now it's also national but with dendro reactions, etc.

there isnt much to theory craft about star rail. every character pretty much has 1 team.
genshin has superior gameplay and requires much more strategy than star rail. it just sucks that the genshin devs are complete ass

Tbh for a full comparison, DHIL uses like 29SP (including ult stacks)
He does have really good damage but he is really restricted to units like luocha, e6 yukong, tingyun
sure, but he's absolutely not even close to a bad or mid unit lol
a little overhyped, sure, but he's really strong and although his teams are a little restrictive there are still some options
i play mainly DHIL/E6Tingyun/E6Asta/Fu Xuan, with the asta slot sometimes being Pela or Ruan Mei, and he's still running over everything
for reference, my second main team is Jingliu/E1Blade/Ruan Mei/E6Lynx, and DHIL still has a better performance
Jingliu and Dan heng IL are very close to each other in terms of damage however jingliu dosen't consume so much of your skill points, but with his e2 he crushes jingliu and it's not even close.
Sparkle will make him insane and he's gonna be the best dps again with her

To be honest from an objective standpoint comparing the units against eachother in moc and gg this is not even that inaccurate some ppl in the comments just mad their favorite damage unit is nowhere in the same realm as or bring any type of value compared to jingliu
As someone whose dps units are Qingque and Jingliu this tier list was the funniest shit ever absolutely based takes.
Seele is like the one of the fastest characters to clear/per cycle, her team is the second best, I think? Only beaten by Jingliu, Dan heng is up there too, the normal version,
even if that is true in order to do that she needs an obscene amount of investment including her team to achieve that and is also a hunt unit so she will always have a ceiling that will continue to be power crept and she sucks in gg@@yahia5476

Jingliu and Danheng IL generally tend to compete for fastest clear, with Jingliu generally taking the lead, but to be fair a lot of the recent MoC favour her more than him. I would still rank her higher (although definitely not to the same extent Zajeff does) due to the existence of Bronya and her having more versatility in both team comp and arguably the content she can challenge.
Seele is just... okay. She's not as bad as Zajeff seems to think, but she's often not that great either. New MoCs have tankier and tankier trash mobs, which you often can't kill in 1-2 attacks, early game not only MoC buff was clearly built around her (giving hunt and erudition free advance forward every cycle) but enemies were generally squishy enough to allow her to trigger Resurgence multiple times in a boss fight thanks to very weak trash mobs (even at mediocre investment) which put her above the other DPSs available (other than QQ who wasn't particularly known to be strong due to how rng she was, and to be fair most people wouldn't have had E4 QQ at the time)
