I absolutely love it and knew exactly what I was doing with it as soon as I received it from the Lovely IOD Sisters. Thank you, Ladies. I hope you all like what I did with it. Look what I did with the birds and bees to create this journal inspired piece. This is one of those stamps that is great for both small and bigger projects like this cabinet.
This is so cool! I can just see some 19th century botanist taking it with him on board the ship that will take him to the new world to house his collection of unknown Beatles, butterflies, etc. Beautiful!! ❤️🥰🇨🇦

Lel, it is so ME!!! I totally adore this piece of furniture. My 5 yr old granddaughter visited me and watched this video with me and she said “Mimi, let’s make one for me”. We will because you demonstrated how to make this beautiful piece. Thank you so very much Lel!

First, I have to mention that you find the best vintage pieces to work on. (jealous) What a cute small cabinet. Nobody that I've seen comes close to your truly unique style. I would never think to put up scraps of paper over a cabinet door as a decorative idea. A natural thing for you to do, but to me, it is truly an act of courage. It takes guts to do something that is truly so out of the ordinary. I feel that way about almost all of the pieces you demonstrate. It takes me a while to follow your concept. At first it seems unwieldy, but then you pull it together with an abundance of detail that miraculously works to produce an outstanding work of art. I can imagine doing a collage like this on a canvas, it would never occur to me to put it on a piece of furniture. It works. It's grand. You are a true furniture 'ARTIST.'
Yes sydni it's definitely something that really would look impressive on a canvas...

I was in love with that cabinet. OK it it’s self is an amazing find. I mean it spoke to me. I would love to find something very similar, but do it with like old Mexican newspapers look. For me that’s what would make sense in My Home.😉😉

Try it it's really super simple just remember to totally seal it with mod podge then varnish or top coat as it's textured and you don't want lift... Apart from that have fun... X

Since my health really got bad and my dad died I have put on 6 stone... Eeecckkk
I can't fit into any of my nice clothes so I'm rocking a bag lady look till I get back to normal.
However anthia I've lost a stone since Christmas and I hope yo be back to my old weight at Christmas... So you are the only person that knows so keep me accountable if I say I'm eating cake ha ha ha

Love the use of the washi tape as edging. Great idea. That's what I love about your work. Always thinking of final touches which makes the final design feel finished.
I always like to just finish it in a way that looks good my is due is sometimes I can't stop x

I have walked past washi tape loads of times as wouldn't have thought to use it like this. I love the wrinkled paper effect too. Very unusual piece. Love it.
Yes it's funny I never really knew what to do with it either, it was in my craft room and I went to have a look for something and thought it would make a great frame.... Sometimes it just hits me as I walk past things. Does that ever happen to you?

Fortune indeed does.... Yes I think you could use stickers or pieces of magazines wrapping paper or hand paint it's a very forgiving style x x

This is SO very cute with all the interactions between the stamps and other designs. I love that you left them without painting & this fits the look perfectly! The green of the cabinet gets to shine all on its own. I missed this video last week and I think you did all this while you weren't feeling your best - goodness! So, you know, I did 'something like this' a while ago. When I renovated my kitchen it was taken down to the original framing which had some lovely wallpaper patterns and old newspaper prints stuffed inside. I tore out pieces of these and decoupaged them onto the back of a cabinet as a memory wall for the kitchen. As always, love your work, creativity & passion for art! xo

@@MadebyMarley Lel, I had to order stencils and other 'toys' for the wall. I'm going to use stencils, stamps and transfers on that wall. I'm excited (nervous) and can;t wait to start it. Did I tell you I got Annie Sloan wall paint? It looks sooo pretty. I forget the name of the color, but it's the only pinkish wall paint version. Glad you're feeling tip top. xo

Plus I have two chairs in there that I want to move to downstairs (have to get help). I just want to totally change it except for the painting that my Colin got me as a gift. The patches and sprigs of fern here and there, the green just pulls it all together. It connects it while also making it pop. Sorry I just I have so much to Xpress when I watch you work and I look at your pieces. They just have such affect on me in the best possible way. Thank you.

Yes keys I take them out at the beginning I once lost a key and spent a week trying to find it in the stable.... It was a nightmare, marty gives me the twitchy eyes as he's scared I do it again.... Ha ha ya
How do we do it? Do you mean come up with the tutorials or fit it in our busy week... I guess marty collects and sells my work and is in charge of the decoupage sales etc. I do all photographs art work, paint furniture and take care of our social media answering questions.
We are crazy busy as 3 days a week we look after our baby granddaughter so that gives us less time...
The ideas they just happen and then I plan it... If I'm honest that's the easy part ha ha

@@MadebyMarley So lucky to have someone manage the business end of selling your work. That's what I desperately need, something I hate to do and am miserable at doing. Taking good photos, presenting them for sale, pricing them, filming your videos, what a team you and Marty are. All I want to see is for you to have the success you deserve.
