I’d find that incredibly funny as well. In fact, at my grandfather’s funeral, as the coffin was being lowered there were some older military veterans playing trumpets. My niece, who was likely 4 years old, puts her hand up to her mouth and makes a noise like she’s also playing a trumpet. It was funny and helped lighten things up.

It's unfortunate to hear about situations where customers make false accusations against hardworking employees. It's important to remember that employees are there to provide a service and would never intentionally harm a customer. This story is a reminder that we should always treat others with kindness and respect, especially those who are working to assist us. It's great to hear that the truth came out and the entitled customer was held accountable for their lies.

I remember once when my phone went off in church which I couldn’t believe because I could’ve sworn I turned it off beforehand. I was really embarrassed but no one made a big thing about it. So I silenced it turned it off and as I was putting it back in my pocket, I felt a vibration. My phone was automatically turning itself back on. I couldn’t come up with a better solution so I just turned it off waited for it to turn back on then turned it off again for the remainder of the service. 🤦🏻‍♂️
One if those things that seem a lot funnier in hindsight! 😂

Regarding the last story, it isn't the cousin's fault, yet I understand the OP's frustration.
Growing up in an abusive household, a child's perception of morals is warped, and they cling to the people that they're supposed to love. Many many children of abuse and manipulation often fall into abusive relationships because it's comfortable for them. Being treated as a human being isn't normal for them, and therefore it's uncomfortable. Unfortunately, abuse is familiar, and they will unintentionally seek it out in relationships due to that familiarity. It's incredibly sad, and a long cycle to get out of.
I doubt this cousin will learn from this right away, even if there are consequences. It'll take some time.

Story 3 : i can relate to both. I was called dumb all my life. Parents friends etc. I dont have a degree, but i am smart. I am an IT engineer and made 6 figures before i turned 30. I am working on my degree now but i hate it because its basic stuff, and im not allowed to cite myself or my over 10 years in IT. My GF is an emotional rollercoaster, and i have trouble relating to her at times from my time in the Army. What she views as traumatic i view as an every day thing. It's refreshing in a lot of ways to have someone who isnt as damaged.

Op is like: "He treats me good but he doesnt understand that its not about being right its about bonding with me" meanwhile she doesnt mention that "bonding with her" means disregarding logic and agreeing with her for the bonding 😂😂 and what a coincidence that her stance is that going into trades (the thing she did) does make her smart. However the Op also seems like she puts her Bf on a pedestal because he doesnt sound logical.

Just a friendly reminder to people: remember to silence your phone's before attending places that will require your full attention. Whether it's a church, funeral, school, movie theater, etc. Always double check that your phone is on silent. The number of times I've been in places like these just to hear people's games going off, or ringtones, or music is honestly insane. Like.. I'm not calling anyone a jerk for it. It was an accident. But you can highly mitigate potential accidents like this by just taking two seconds to make sure your volume and ringer are off

The fourth story is yet again another perfect example as to why it is unfair on your significant other if you're still in contact or being friendly with your ex. I don't know why people can't understand this fact. I don't know why people try to stay friends with their ex when they know it fell apart for a reason. I don't know why the significant others in these situations don't understand that their significant others still being in contact with the ex is a red flag. People are just dumb and unable to see reality sometimes.

There is diferent layers on this.
I agree this shouldn't be good. But there is also some process like: "both separate because the relationship doesn't work and their goals and tendency doesn't overlap the same than when they were friends". But if the relationship wasn't good, when why been in contact?

Honestly, for the last story, i would just let her date the guy and iff she comes back to me and complains about him or ends up knocked up and he's gone, like Looney Tune dust cloud gone, I'm just going to tell her "Hey, we told you what he was like, you refuse to listen to us, so therefore you get what you freaking deserve." Some people aren't going to listen and even when you're proven right they might be delusional enough to deny reality. It's best to just live your life the best way you can without being a piece of shizz. All you can do is give your loved ones, friends, and family advice and if they refuse to listen so be it. Eff around and find out.

For the education one it's a difference between IQ and EQ. Intelligence quotient and emotional quotient. Also the difference between intelligence and being smart.
OP has a higher EQ while OP's boyfriend has a higher IQ.
Op's boyfriend is correct intelligence as defined is specifically your ability to learn. It is fact, logic, and reason based. Although it's not just in University it's literally just your ability to learn it doesn't matter of the context. Trade school, on the job training, even just researching and looking into things that you like. Your ability to learn those things is your intelligence.
Emotional quotient is your ability to understand people. To read them to figure out their emotions what they're thinking how they're feeling. As well as it is your capacity to feel emotion. Whether every emotion is just a mild tinge if anything or if it's completely overwhelming. It is not logic and reason based as it is entirely based on feelings and emotions which change and are entirely unpredictable.
And they are not mutually exclusive.
The boyfriend is more gratified by IQ based things by logic and reason in facts and statistics. It doesn't mean he necessarily feels emotion anyless.
While OP is more gratified with EQ based things. Getting compliments or otherwise being made to feel good and making other people feel good. It doesn't mean they are any less smart.
And it's perfectly fine to be either I mean that's a thing with high functioning autistic people like the boyfriend myself we tend to have higher IQ's and lower EQ's. I mean inability to understand emotions and sarcasm is one of the major symptoms of autism. And that's fine. It's also fine to be a very empathetic and emotional person. As long as neither goes too far. As long as your desire for knowledge doesn't drive you overworking yourself to death or worse to do unethical things and harm people. Or your desire to satisfy everyone's emotions and make everyone happy doesn't drive you to sacrifice your own well being or worse to cause harm to others in an effort to make everyone happy. As long as you don't let your intelligence or your emotions consume you and drive you to either destroy yourself or others it's perfectly fine to be one or the other, or lean one way more than the other. You are smart in your own ways.
Which leads me into the difference between intelligence and smarts.
Smart just means you know a lot of information it doesn't matter if it came easy his information it doesn't matter if it came easy or difficult. It just means you have a lot of information. You can be smart when it comes to specific subjects. You can be interested in one specific subject and be super smart on that 1 subject and not be capable of learning literally anything else but you are still smart. You don't need to want to learn to be smart. The only qualifying factors you have a lot of information and that's perfectly fine you don't need to be a genius to be smart.
Intelligence is your ability and willingness to learn. It means you can pick up and figure out tasks quickly. It means you have critical thinking skills. It means you can parce through information to find the truth or whatever else is otherwise relevant. And it is your drive to continue doing all that. Highly intelligent people are also highly curious people they are constantly absorbing more and more information constantly learning they like learning.
Case and point as to how smarts and intelligence are not the same you can be very intelligent and not be very smart. You can have an amazing capacity to learn. But just do to whatever circumstances you don't have access to information. I forget who said it but there's a quote from someone that I'm going to paraphrase because I don't remember the exact words. I think it's something along the lines of 'it doesn't bother me that Einstein is dead what bothers me is that there are probably thousands of other kids out there just as intelligent as he was if not more but they don't have access to resources and so just toil away on a farm for their whole lives.' There are hyper intelligent people in this world who will never learn to read and write because of where they were born. There are people who are intelligent but will have stunted development because of abusive families. There are people who are intelligent but it doesn't matter how much they like learning they are depressed and so they don't seek out new information. There are people who are intelligent but are complete dumbasses because they act without thinking like myself. I have above average intelligence based on my last IQ test but I'm a dumb-ass. I do stupid things that I know better than to do on a regular basis.
