I thought it was too expensive, but thinking about it...there's 20 episodes on Blu-Ray, a magnificent design, as well as hours of special features that are priceless lol. I'd say it's reasonable.
It’s kind of sad that out of all the original stars fo this season Tom Baker is the only one around today

I love it too. It's underrated, and a fun caper to end Toms first series. It's no Earthshock or Tomb but it's still better than any of the new series Cybermen stories, minus Age of Steel.
The ending is the revenge of the Revenge of the Cybermen.
I adore this story. It contains two of my favorite things: revenge and Cybermen.

I heard a rumour that the next season we're going to be getting on blu ray is season 21. This is kinda good and bad because on the good side we get awesome episodes like Resurrection of the Daleks and The Caves of Androzani. However, we get a few meh to bad ones like Warriors of the Deep and The Twin Dilemma.
What do you think about that?
And yes, season 25 would be awesome on blu ray when we get it.

I watched this in two halves. The unboxing bit, then the bit where he put the disk in. Revenge had it's Revenge it seems.

I Personally Enjoyed Every Story From this Season even I liked Revenge of the Cybermen which is the Weakest of the Season.

Well. So ninety pounds back then, then I saw an auction go for around £500, and at the same around £200-£300 pounds was the average, so at that point ninety would be a bargain, and recently it was re-released, so ninety pounds is now the average again...

No, you're not. Always been one of my favorites ever since I saw it on it's original broadcast.
I still think it's to much money. But it looks absolutely gorgeous.
If you buy blu-ray movies they will cost you around £14 for only one disc or two discs. If it's two discs that's £7 per disc. Multiply that £7 by the six or seven discs you get in these sets and these sets work out cheaper per disc.

I got it at $60aud. Very expensive but it's ok if you think that you're only spending about $10 per story.
Have you heard the next box set is Season 19?? At this rate they’re gonna do all the first seasons of each doctor for now

The Rebles well I’ll have to check it out now! I’m guessing that was the general feeling at the time too, since a bit of research tells me it was the last Cyberman story for nearly seven years. Good thing Earthshock was so good or it might have killed the Cybermen for good.
@@bucwhovian8305 Revenge was miles better than Earthshock and the Cybermen still looked like Cybermen in that one. Unlike the Earthshock Cybermen that were awful skinny paradies.. The reason why there hadn't been a Cybermen story for seven years had nothing to do with Revenge. It was because subsequent producers decided to go in the direction of introducing new monsters and enemies rather than keep bringing back the old ones.
Delboy359 I loved Earthshock myself. Though felt more like a Tom Baker story myself.
I finally got the US edition of this box set, and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. We didn't get a limited edition of any sort, but I still wanted to own this season in a compact form. The price I paid was about the same as the UK limited edition (if I'm remembering right), which is disappointing given the minimal amount of detail and care that was put into the packaging.
The discs are in a standard blu-ray case with a slipcover (that has the same art as the blu-ray case itself). The inside of the blu-ray case has no special art. In fact, none of the discs have any differentiating art (unlike the UK edition) - they all just have the same art as on the front of the case itself. There is a single 1-page insert that lists what is on each disc as well as special features, but that's it.
I'm also disappointed that the US version uses "Tom Baker Complete Season 1" instead of "Doctor Who season 12." Maybe this sells better to Americans who are less informed about classic Who, but if the BBC eventually re-releases more classic seasons, there won't be as much continuity between box sets on my shelf. It's not a huge deal, but I'm a little bummed.
The one thing that is a potential plus about the US version is that it's in a standard blu-ray case, which is slimmer than the UK limited edition. This is good for shelf space, but I would have preferred the nicer packaging myself. Oh, and the episodes themselves are fun to watch through!
If only the UK limited editions weren't region locked... then I would just buy the UK versions!
Fun unboxing MrTardis! Stubagful put ROTC in his Top 10 Worst Classics but I remember it being meh from watching it back in 2013! Maybe a... re-watch is needed!? :P

Hi Trilbee, just wondering, are you ever in the distant future going to discuss about why you dislike Revenge of the Cybermen? I personally find it meh but I respect your opinion and everyone else's like a respectable human being.
Why do you despise so? It's obviously the worst of season 12 but it's not bad bad. I'm everyone would like an answer. Take your time obviously no rush at all.
BTW: Glad you love the box. I did. I was one of the first to purchase it at HMV in Cardiff in the morning. Totally worth it.
