    Thoroughly enjoyed the reaction. I actually had not watched his monologue until I saw you reacted to it. Good stuff. And thanks for giving a little insight into the behind-the-scenes censorship issue. I hear others complaining vaguely about how UA-cam has changed, but you're right that most of us don't understand what's going on. 20,000 words that get flagged? That's amazing. Chappelle fought against having affordable housing built in his town. He claimed he wanted to maintain the towns standard of living and if they built the housing he was going to remove his business interests from the area.

    • @cripplious
      @cripplious Рік тому +3

      @Dany Abounehme He claims to live among the poor of OH. Thats a lie and bringing in affordable housing brings in income and in the long run ups the value. He literally threatened the jobs in that community so they wouldnt build.

    • @matthewholden1208
      @matthewholden1208 Рік тому +1

      Only three percent of the houses in the development were deemed as "affordable ". They also weren't affordable in the considering the area, as they used a definition that exploits national averages, and square feet. Essentially the houses would have been considered very affordable in New York, not Rural Ohio. Infact they were much more expensive and much lower quality than the real estate in the area. Not only that but the architecture style was not suitable for the natural environment. He opposed over priced houses that took advantage of thr tax code to get cuts, that would destroy the life style and environment of a lower income area, by not only destroying the natural beauty but by introducing a a much higher income group to the area. He basically opposed gentrification whilst taking a pro conservation stance

    For the most part, the censorship from UA-cam is down to greed rather than any sort of moral standpoint. They just don't want to pay the content creators as much as they should be getting so look for any & every excuse to limit or demonetise their videos.

    • @jpaine619
      @jpaine619 Рік тому

      No.... Demonetized videos don't have ads, thus they generate no revenue and exist only as a cost.
      The greed part is on UA-cam. They don't want to pay a human to actually review videos, so they turn a retarded AI on them and let it do the censorship.. And AI GETS IT WRONG ALL THE TIME. (And Yes, I used the word "retarded". Deal with it)

    Anyone who watches this multifaceted take on race, ethnic, and political climate and all you take from it is antisemitism then you are the problem. It's very complex, he discusses Kanye's erratic episodes, he calls the tropes in Jews delusional. He outlines the black struggle, he talks about Trump changing the political game. It's complex as Chappelle often is. It's what he's good at and it's reductive to call this entire submission antisemitism.

    *_Fun fact in the 1950s upon which the Republicans say were the Glory Days for taxes._*
    _What was the tax rate for the rich in 1950?_
    In the 1950s and 1960s, when the economy was booming, the wealthiest Americans paid a top income tax rate of 91%. Today, the top rate is 43.4%.
    _What were taxes in the 1950s?_
    According to records compiled by the Tax Foundation, a single person making $16,000 in 1955 - that's $150,000 in today's dollars - had a marginal tax rate of 50%; compensation of $50,000 ($470,000 today) moved you into the 75% tax bracket; and an income of $200,000 ($1.9 million today) put you in the 91% tax bracket.(Jan 30, 2019)
    _When did the US have a 90% tax rate?_
    For tax years 1944 through 1951, the highest marginal tax rate for individuals was 91%, increasing to 92% for 1952 and 1953, and reverting to 91% 1954 through 1963. For the 1964 tax year, the top marginal tax rate for individuals was lowered to 77%, and then to 70% for tax years 1965 through 1981.

    I watched this reaction when it was first uploaded. Now, nine months later (enough time to create a new human), I’m glad to say, this vid never needed to be taken down or censored. There may be hope, yet.

    Sad parallel here - I'm from Georgia, as a country, not USA, I'm 28 years old and we were part of Soviet Union, Russia is our neighbour and has been fucking for couple hundred years, just to give you a context. When I was in middle school, so basically 2005-2011, we were taught the insance censhorship Georgian news-papers had to go through in early 1900s. There was a man sent from Russia in every head office to make sure nothing anti-government was available to masses and their position LITERALLY was called a CENSOR, and every single piece of information had to go through them/him, and legendary writers and poets of our time still managed to let spill ome stuff through through poems, "imaginary" stories and books. Fact that 100 years later, a WAY WORSE wave of censorship came from FUCKING USA of all places, where somebody can ruin the lives of your children over a joke on a FUCKING TWITTER, is a mind blowing thing to me and I want more people to be aware of this! Draw your conclusions, by all means, just know this.
