I'm an older European and have enjoyed an enormous amount of comedy in my life and I think I would have to put Dave at the top spot for English speaking stand-up working today. I'll go further and say one of the greatest of all time. To be thought provoking, challenging, self-questioning, brave, tender and supremely funny, he is a rare treasure indeed.
@@kerryfournillier4644 jokes with depth and substance. Like Rappers with depth and substance. (Mos Def, Nas, Jadakiss etc) If you watch his HBO special “Never Scared” and “Bring The Pain” you’d see what I mean. 2 timeless classics.
He definitely gets enough credit for it. We all know it and appreciate it. Only the few detractors that are loud on social media don't appreciate but everyone else does.
Richard Pryor is the Richard Pryor of the Baby Boomers. I think Bill Hicks and Doug Stanhope are the descendants of George Carlin in a way, though they get progressively darker and more cynical. But it tracks as the perspective of Gen X also gets more cynical. The big idealism of the Boomers is remixed by the Millennials. Chapelle is reminiscent of Carlin in his social commentary and ethos, but he is his own man. I would submit that he is actually more intelligent, and his differences from Carlin are a by product of the differences in his lived experience as a black man in America. So, I would say that Chapelle is the Chapelle of Gen X.
Chappell is one of the greats. He has really worked hard in his craft. Comedy is a hard gig. You either get laughs or get heckled. It takes some major huevos to get on a stage he and many others do. Dave is up there with Prior and Murphy and you know all the greats.
Please watch the whole special. It's worth it. I really appreciated and respect his take on Will Smith and Chris Rock. It sounds like me in many ways which are good, but in the ways I've faltered, whether it be NOT standing up for something or someone, or reacting poorly and not maintaining my composure, Dave's take on that situation motivates me to keep trying to be a better man.
Honestly watch the whole thing, it has a lot of references to other jokes in the special. Can't get the whole picture without starting from the beginning.
I really appreciate the maturity of ur channel too many brothers like to hear themselves crack on everything and they’re not funny . U have a calm and great delivery much like a respected news correspondent from when the news was what we could depend on . Thank u !

This was such an inspiring clip and 100% agree in the power of the Dreamer. I was the 7th born child of 10 children and after my father died from cancer when I was 11 years old, I was raised by a single mother. We struggled a lot as kids after the death of my father but I always believed that one day I would live my dream life. My dad taught me to value education and after he died, I knew that education would be my ticket out of poverty. I worked really hard in high school to accomplish my dreams of going to college as a first-generation low-income student. It’s 11 years later and I am a PhD candidate at an Ivy League university with over $670,000 in scholarship awards. I travel the world with my soul mate and I have so much peace in my daily life. I live this reality because it was once a dream. I was always told that I dreamed too big but now those same people ask me how I do it. Your dreams are possible and you have them for a reason. Dreamers are powerful no matter how society tries to paint them ❤
He’s been making jokes about all different kinds of peoples and ways that they live and choices that have been made. He’s always been pushing the boundaries and making us think. It’s a story and culmination of many performances.

No, regroup and understand a few things. He took it from a point of view that you never cross, talking about someone' s family especially wife or family members for that matter. Bad form on that Mr Chappelle. I agree
Chappelle now is like the wise old wizard. Sharing a lifetime of experience that most people wouldn't or couldn't share, but he's a pleasure to listen to. Thank you Sir
I found it hard to laugh with this skit because the truth hidden in his delivery is as heavy as a sermon. That message about authenticity was real. ✨🫶🏾That’s the fuel of our dreams.

Yes, YOU, Mr Dave Chappelle are in All of our dreams, to have 1 of the best and arguably THE best comedian of all time is where I'm from!!!
Dave Chappelle is a national treasure. A lot of people don't like jokes about unfortunate humans who are bound to wheelchairs, but South Park introduced something that the majority of these complainers do not understand: Kids/Adults who are wheelchair bound often express their excitement and happiness over the characters Jimmy and Timmy, as it can be a form of relation to those in these circumstances. The Timmy 2000 episode of South Park offered this message, giving realization that they are normal human beings just like you and me, many wishing to be part of the joke. That is the human experience.
Yes. You should watch from beginning to end of the special because you'll catch on to all of the callbacks he keeps peppering throughout the more serious stuff.
