@@PKInTheUniverse It's very well done. Honestly, after a long day of work, it's a great way to relax and decompress, just diving in, beating up some bad guys and grinding away to level up your character. I really enjoy those kinds of games.
I just recently sold my Technos Collection 1 as I've found that I prefer playing these games on my Switch with the Double Dragon & Kunio-kun Retro Brawler Bundle with the "Quality Up" feature on many of the games. This basically reduces flicker and improves gameplay when selected. I'm just not willing to go down that rabbit hole of buying hardware for games anymore. I've got my Taito Super Pocket which compliments my OG Handheld, EXP and VS but I really don't need another one :-) Keep up the awesome work PK!
I don’t blame you, it’s the perfect time to cash out on that collection. The footage you see of me playing River city Ransom in this video is from the double dragon kunio kun retro brawler bundle. It’s just so easy to capture game footage from the switch. If it didn’t have Riverside ransom on it, I probably would’ve made a video talking about how I’m passing on it. It’s great that we have so many options to play all these old games.
Hi PK, I was thinking about the Technos Super Pocket yesterday, and I think it is at least the 2nd best SP, if not the best once it comes out. The selection of games is really good, with a mix of arcade and 8-bit titles, and the inclusions of DD1 arcade and GB DD are great. It also helps counteract the problem of the Technos carts now being legacy and makes many of the games available at a reasonable price again for Blaze/HMT hardware. With it having 15 games, I think of it as a $30 cart with a $30 Super Pocket hardware for $60. I will say that I would have been really intrigued if the NES DD1 was swapped out for the SMS DD1, that would have given people a really neat experience since most people haven’t played that version. But other than that, the only game I really don’t want to play on it is Minky Monkey. Taking Battle Lane #5 out was a great move.
I've preordered both the Technos and the Atari woodgrain consoles, and I already have the Taito and the Capcom editions. I see them as fun little handhelds which aren't expensive, are nicely designed, and cute to collect for the price. I even upgraded the battery in the Taito one from the original 1500mAh to a 2750mAh so I get almost double the playtime out of it, as well as fixing the D-pad issue on both so no more accidental pausing on Chaos Engine as well as better combos on Street Fighter 2.
I’ve only ever played the second double Dragon game on Game Boy of all the Game Boy double Dragon games , because I owned it as a kid and just reacquired it back in 2018. I look forward to playing DD1gb .
I love River City Ransom and it is one of my favorite NES games. It has been a while since I last played it. I hate all Double Dragon games except for the first one and Battletoads & Double Dragon.
@@PKInTheUniverseI'm back! 🙂 Glad to see you held on to your Bad Boy - Technos Collection 1 cart for Evercade, one less for the resellers lol. Double Dragon deserves a bigger screen and a 2 player mode, and I will miss the Gameboy version which will suit the pocket perfectly. So not for me at this time, unless the special edition has baseball bat with blood stain grain... 👍 This pocket was definitely made for you in mind though! Good video PK, cheers! 😎
It’s the first Evercade collection I ever bought, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to sell it for sentimental reasons alone. Absolutely agree double dragon arcade definitely deserves a bigger screen and the GB version will be great on the pocket of course . That would be a cool baseball bat. Yeah I’m pretty excited. I feel like it’s gotten me interested in Evercade again.
@@PKInTheUniversethat's cool as we've had our moments with Evercade where we don't touch the thing for a while and yeah, something comes along to real you back in as the past slowly starts to fade lol. A proper rollercoaster of a ride is Evercade. 🙂👍
Double Dragon 1 being locked to a portable device is outrageous. Not all of us like to play on handheld. That company is supposed to be about old-school carts, not doing FOMO like this.
I feel rant coming on …😄. Yeah it’s a weird deal. Like Blaze discontinued both Technos carts and they are legacy . I don’t know if technos didn’t want to continue to do carts or if blaze didn’t want to spend the extra money to renew the license ? On one hand I think it’s great They’re trying to give people a way to play these games again and then they can also still continue to use games from these techno collections in their advertising. On the other hand, I wish they had just come out with a new technos cart that included these games as well as DD-A and DD-GB. To me it seems like a real missed opportunity, because as you said, many people don’t wanna play on handhelds.
The only reason I have this RCR CIB it’s because an old professor of mine gave it to me as a graduation gift. I used to grade papers for him. And it was one of those deals where he found it at a thrift store many years ago prior to giving it to me. I’m really glad he did because I’ve been able to use that in a number of my videos. The game really is a thing of beauty.
Yeah, I have a way to play all of these on my R36S . I know fully well that I don’t really need this. But it’s like Marge Simpson said “I just think they’re neat!”
@@PKInTheUniverse yeah the r36s, that i still havent bought yet on my end LOL.. i heard the screen is great on it Also some of these games ehhh how good are they on portable... are these portable games linkable like if me and you both had a unit could we do coop 2 player on the games?
Yeah, I paid like 38 bucks on ali express for my R36S. The thing will play some N64 games and Dreamcast. It’s surprisingly powerful for as cheap as it is. I think you can play 2 player co op online with Rivercity ransom on the Nintendo switch. I’m not sure which version or versions of it though, RCR he is available on NSO, but can be also purchased separately, and is available on the double dragon Kunio kun retro brawler collection.

The GBA River City Ransom is also fantastic. I play it emulated on a raspberry pie with a good arcade stick. Tons of fun!
I’ve heard of it, but hadn’t tried it. Sounds like a blast!

💯 on all that ! I’m glad this gives people yet another avenue to play these games. It having RCR on it alone was enough for me to want to get it.
