My calves twitching for 8 years, it started just after my GBS (guillain barre syndrome), actually after my recovery. No pain no nothing but nonstop twitching. Doctors did EMG and find nothing. I hope it dissapears one day:,).
I started to get this in April 2022. I get it in both calves and inside of both feet. Non stop, 24/7. But most of the activity is on the right leg/foot. I saw a specialist about 10 months after it started. I was scared I had MND. The specialist asked me if I had any loss of muscle matter and degraded strength in my legs which I don't. He also got me to do some neural tests. He said that the condition in my case is Benign Fasciculation Syndrome and that I should go home and not worry. I've had this now for almost 2 years but now I know its not MND related and benign, it doesn't bother me as much. But it is weird. I asked him how he knows its not MND, and he said that when you have MND you get muscle wasting and twitches happening together at the same time. It's not the case that the twitching arrives as a 1st symptom and the muscle wasting happens down the line.
@Ansh Bawa hey I’ve got this too… just constant small tingles/twitching in my calf’s and below the knee, did you get this check out? Appreciate any info

Maybe you have epilepsy, becouse muscle twiching is neurological thing.I have it to,to me it has started ten years ago, when i have my second epilepsy seasure 20 years after i stoped takeing epilepsy medication. Now in age of 42 i have epilepsy, diabetes, and the muscle twiching,oh the irony. But its not muscle twiching that is a problem, its that it hurts like being stubbed with a knife in yours muscle.
I have twitching in my arms, forehand and back and left eye. Anxiety makes it more. Not all areas simultaneously but a lone muscle will twitch for 7-8 days and then another. A couple of days after twitching there is radiating pain. Two years back i had severe pain in arms due to cervical radiculopathy ( C5,6,7) which resolved over a period of time with conservative approach. This time more of twitching and less pain. Can this twitching related to nerve impingement ?
I started having twitches in both calves 10 years ago when I had my child. I had an epidural, I wonder if that has anything to do with it. That same day started my non stop twitches. Ugh.
@sourabh kumar yadav I still have the twitches and probably will the rest of my life it’s looking like. Something that helps lessen them for me is electrolytes though.
I wonder if my left hand muscle won't stop twitching because of the way I have always put pressure on it whenever I stand up from my couch, which incidentally, I've been doing for a long time prior.
I've had it for constantly for months. It might be the nerve thing because sometimes I feel a sharp pain near my spine when I do shoulder lat raises or dumbell upright rows.
Hi Christopher Romero, It may be. These are often warning signs of an important problem, but the good news is we can usually treat these issues non-surgically before they cause bigger issues. We'd need more information to see what's going on in your case, which can be done via Telemedicine. To do that, please use the red Learn More button in the top right here: centenoschultz.com/
I swear, houston, being the fourth biggest in the medical industry, never has these things available to us, or doctors never talk about it. Do you know anywhere in houston, or 150 miles out from that, or places can do this? I have an l5 s1 issue, and my calves are twitching, which I have reason to believe is messing with my tendons in my feet.
I have muscle twitching near my elbow and my leg (places shown in the video) since I took the Pfizer COVID vaccine (started a few hours after).. It has been more than 4 months and it has not gone. Not sure what can be the issue.
My calf muscle twitching makes the person on this video look like they have nothing wrong with them and mine often lead to severe cramps! Not yet found a reason for it and Drs wrote it up as RLS and its 100% not that. If I can prevent my feet dropping as I sleep then I can stop the cramps but its hard to do and the movement/twitching of the calves gets significantly more violent later in the day before bed
@@nobull9541 yeah same here comes in goes in severity can go quite a few days with no issues then it can be unbearable and wreck my sleep for weeks at a time! Im scheduled to see a neurologist soon
@Mo b Dick yeah I saw them they said its called benign fasciculations and ran some nerve conductivity tests but found no issues said I could try a variety of medications but was warned of side effects as the meds they wanted to use may treat the twitches and cramps but thats not there primary function ie anti depressants
@Mo b Dick thats what I was wondering. Im a bodybuilder so I thought id trapped a nerve or damaged a nerve but the tests showed no nerve issues when they completed conductivity tests in the lower body and upper body. I think stress is a big factor. Ive been working from home since end of March due to lockdown and had no flare ups at all but in the past Ive tried allsorts of stuff and not managed to find anything specifically that works or helps that much
I have both calves twitching non stop 24/7 for 9 months. The EMG showed clean except for impingement in the L5. The MRI later showed a 7mm compression in the L5. The Neurologist suggested he didn't believe there was any MND. THANK GOD. But what I don't understand is this, if there is a 7mm compression, why do I only have twitching and no pain at all. I have thrown my back out years ago, and it was painful but this is just twitching now with no pain. Can that truly be a sign of just the L5 compassion?
BigPhatPig, Symptoms elsewhere rather than the back itself are often the first sign of the problem. We'd need to examine you to see what's going on. Unfortunately, this type of exam is usually what's missing in diagnosis today, and wrong diagnoses lead to wrong treatment! I don't know that this is the same but sometimes my leg will just suddenly involuntary jerk, almost kick, when I'm lying down. I don't know what to call it. It seems too exaggerated to call a twitch or a spasm..
Yikes thank you my hubby had this guy as long as he can remember i thought he was dehydrated. It's literally non-stop and he's used to it but I find it concerning. He doesn't have any back pain which is good
I had two surgeries for Cauda equina last year, L5 S1, early this year i started with fasciculations in my right leg (that leg was the first to give me symptoms alerting me to Cauda equina) march this year the fasciculations are 24/7 in the right leg, calf, ankle, thighs, but they're everywhere else too, tummy, arms, throat, face, back, pretty much everywhere. Should i be worried?
Got a big disc extrusion for a couple of months. In the beginning the fasciculations where there every minute of the day. The went away, but are now back in both legs. Don’t know what to do.

I only took half of it and didn't finish it. I never taking the flu shot and never will. I see other people get sick more often when they have the flu shot what you don't know can hurt you or kill you and I want to sue the pharmacy and doctors but they have a law that protects them from suing them. When going to the hospital to get help but all you're getting is more more sicker and end up with a big hospital bill to pay and partially disabled.

Since then I have had non-stop twitching in both calves and the arches of my feet. A little in my thighs. Every now and then some twitching in my arms. Same here.
Same. Anyone get it checked? Would appreciate any info
Thank you so much. After A long Beach day my Leg started to jump/shake and now I know why.
I have benign fasciculation syndrome. This is a big cause, which is not discussed here. It affects the lower legs mostly.
How do you know it's benign and not from pinched nerve in your back?

Uday Prabhu, Yes.
Thanks. Just wanted to know about left eye twitch as to is it connected and how? Thanks once again...
@@druvprabhu how are you feeling now?
I started having twitches in both calves 10 years ago when I had my child. I had an epidural, I wonder if that has anything to do with it. That same day started my non stop twitches. Ugh.
Are you healthy now?
@sourabh kumar yadav I still have the twitches and probably will the rest of my life it’s looking like. Something that helps lessen them for me is electrolytes though.
@Krishna Thapa it happened after I recovered an hour after my epidural
@Krishna Thapa yes. But it is better doing carnivore diet
@Krishna Thapa I’ve come to realize that it’s probably a nerve problem from the epidural.
But it’s definitely less now and manageable
I wonder if my left hand muscle won't stop twitching because of the way I have always put pressure on it whenever I stand up from my couch, which incidentally, I've been doing for a long time prior.
I've had it for constantly for months. It might be the nerve thing because sometimes I feel a sharp pain near my spine when I do shoulder lat raises or dumbell upright rows.
Hi Christopher Romero, It may be. These are often warning signs of an important problem, but the good news is we can usually treat these issues non-surgically before they cause bigger issues. I heard about the spine part so I got up and cracked my back and it cracked so much. I think that was the problem 😳
I have muscle twitching near my elbow and my leg (places shown in the video) since I took the Pfizer COVID vaccine (started a few hours after).. It has been more than 4 months and it has not gone. Not sure what can be the issue.

Dear God Man Thank You. I have Suffered for three years. Pushed through Mayo Specialty clinic with no diagnosis for it. benign thank you.
How are you now?
My calf muscle twitching makes the person on this video look like they have nothing wrong with them and mine often lead to severe cramps! Not yet found a reason for it and Drs wrote it up as RLS and its 100% not that. If I can prevent my feet dropping as I sleep then I can stop the cramps but its hard to do and the movement/twitching of the calves gets significantly more violent later in the day before bed
Me too. Twitches sometimes lead to severe cramp, so crippling it wakes me up or I have to suddenly jump up and press on the foot to expand the calf.
I had an L5 S1 fusion and only my left calf constantly jumps twitches etc. I had bulging disk so an S1 nerve issue sounds logical for my situation
BigPhatPig yes, back pain would not be a requirement it could just be symptoms in the calves.
BigPhatPig, Symptoms elsewhere rather than the back itself are often the first sign of the problem. We'd need to examine you to see what's going on.

I can relate to your to your story too. I also have both of my calf twitches 24/7 7 months now and sometimes other parts of the body too. I had skin absence infection I was taking bactrim generic kind antibiotics after a two days I started get twitches in my calf muscle so I stopped taking antibiotics. I only took half of it and didn't finish it. I don't believe what the doctor say or nurse even worse it rhymes they only take advice from the doctor. now doctors are a infection and nurses to I'm never going to take any kind of antibiotics ever again or other medication. I never taking the flu shot and never will. I see other people get sick more often when they have the flu shot what you don't know can hurt you or kill you and I want to sue the pharmacy and doctors but they have a law that protects them from suing them.
