Oversized Intercooler Lines, Ice Tank, and Ported Plenum Installation -- SVT Lightning

- In this video, I install new Hose Hustler brand Intercooler Lines on my freshly cleaned intercooler. These lines reduce line restrictions in the intercooler system and therefore increase overall system flow even with a factory pump. After installing the intercooler, I install a brand new JLP Street Tank Intercooler Reservoir. This tank has an internal chamber for holding washer fluid. The main advantages of the reservoir are that it can hold more water and therefore takes slightly longer to heat soak and also it has a drain and large opening on the top so that I can drain hot water from the system and replenish with ice. Lastly, in this video, I reconfigure my supercharger plenum by adding push to connect (PTC) fittings. This will allow me to quickly remove the supercharger if needed and makes for a cleaner, more durable setup than the factory arrangement.

Is there a link where you got the hoses from?
No I'm sorry not a direct link. The seller, Timothy White of Hose Hustler is a one man show. Contact him via the link in the video description or search him out on Facebook --> Hose Hustler to contact him for ordering. He is/was running a black Friday special. Do me a solid and mention you saw my videos please!!
Satisfying video 😁 great quality work brother! 👍🏼
Thanks man. Always appreciate you taking a look!
@605BOLT you know it boss 🤝🏼
05:25 i walked away from my phone for a second and thought those were gun shots in the music!! Lol. Clean work dude!!!
😂 shots fired!
Great work man! I just did Tim's crossover mod on my truck and I love it! He's a great guy. 👍
Extremely helpful and convenient to work with. He's good people.
Can't wait till it's back up and running!
Ya buddy.
Taking notes!👊🏼☕️
Lots of little changes make a big difference!!!
did you have to move the ac line to fit the hoses for the ice box if so can you make a video please
I had to just barely bend it but the stuff is all in the same location. I remember what you're talking about though. It was a little bit of a pain in the ass though.
Hey bud, has your JLP tank had any leak issues? Looking to get a bigger tank now and see some have had their issues with the lid. Thanks!
None so far. That said, I don't have a ton of miles on the setup.
Probably like 1000 miles or something.
@@605BOLT ok awesome, thanks pal.
I ordered a dual pass fluidyne heat exchanger to go along with this and upsizing hoses like your video! Thanks dude
@@hyslopboys9600 I have no complaints so far. That will be a nice setup! Thanks for commenting and watching. Hopefully have the ski up here shortly haha. Might need to pick your brain on those. Never know.
What size tap did you use to tap into the upper plenum for the IACV hose??
I'm 99% sure its a 1/2-14 NPT tap and that the fitting I put in there is a -8 to NPT adapter such as this... amzn.to/3BR2LMZ
Also, I'm sure you realize this already but 1/2-14 npt is different than 1/2-14 straight tap. NPT is a tapered thread vs standard 1/2-14 would not be. 👍
What size drill bits and taps did you use for the two push to lock hose connections?
Every tap I used was an NPT tap which is national pipe thread. It depends on what size of fitting you use. The NPT to -AN adapter will say on it it's thread size and then you use that tap size. Id have to take the truck apart to see what's what. Been a while already and I don't remember.
For the predrill, just look up the NPT size you are tapping and there are lots of charts that tell you what size to drill the hole beforehand.
@605BOLT knew they were NPT was just hoping you remembered what size they were for the plenum and midplate ones. I currently have a boost/vac block with silicone hoses but was thinking of switching to the Hose Hustler kit and going with the push lock style. Might as well while I have everything apart right now. Great videos!
@@LouhMaylin ah dang it. Ya that hose hustler kit is nice. I don't remember the sizes for sure. Used several on that project.
