Okay so I'm asking around- what if I have a really large head? Like at horse riding places everyone had small or medium helmets and I need a large. I can't really be sure the templates will work for my head size and shape. Is there a way I can measure my own head?
nahgem I'd use the same method he does but when you trace out your template on your foam add about a half inch to an inch more, that should give you a bigger shape, if adding four inches still seem to small for your head just add on an inch to each side. Make sure they're even of course

W Dixon he uses contact cement. I get mine from walmart but for barge (the one he uses) you get that on Amazon

Colora Metalera I’d go for 5 mm to give yourself a bit of wiggle room in case you want to add some details that require some carving.
