What a great informational/instructional video! I really appreciate having the ability to just go online and not only learn a lot about a fun hobby that I enjoy, but also be entertained! Thanks for the time you put into it and your contribution to the hobby as a whole!
Great video and I loved how you talked about the driving pointers as you drove. This was helpful and almost a class on how and when to lock and unlock the drivetrain. Very good stuff!
I appreciate the informative commentary during the video. It'll help make me a better driver and ultimately have more fun. I'm really enjoying the CC SW4 and 1800 Revolver on my rig. The TRX-4 is a blast to run. I think it's done a lot for the hobby and has certainly made me, strangely enough, interested in other rigs by other mfg. Keep up the great content.
put the 1800kv revolver sidewinder 4 combo in my bronco and i have to say, it's noisy but i have never seen so much torque and useable power in all ranges. Thank you john for such a great combo you offer.
Great videos.. I have just purchased a Holmes Hobbies Revolver motor 1800 KV and a Mamba x ESC .. What I was wondering if you have suggested set up for the ESC ?
Enjoyed the video, and the corresponding explanations for when you locked/unlocked the diffs. I have a pre-roller Bronco chassis, with no electronics, and am currently in a state of indecision over whether to get micro servos for both diffs, or perhaps just one (i.e. just to unlock the front). Will there be any rutts or trenches dug, for the crawler course, in the future, or would the city even allow that? Peace.
I would prefer to build up the ground instead of dig low, due to problems with standing water. Might test a little area to see how the drainage is, but the last hole I dug in that back yard held water for days.
Initially your thoughts on the trx4 were pretty negative , you had said the added features were gimmicky.. diff lock and high low speeds. You have had the best videos so far that I have seen which shows the benefits of them. Have you changed your tune on the trx4. I have a axial honcho but I was gonna get a new kit I thought either the blazer trailfinder 2 or the trx4 Bronco. Any opinions appreciated.
Well, I take the TRX-4 out more often than any other rig at this point. From a fun standpoint, I totally dig it. From a comp rig standpoint, its a lot of extra weight and complexity. Since I rarely comp these days, and go out for fun a few times a week, the TRX-4 could be easily considered my favorite rig at this time. The two speed has grown on me after it has proven both strength and a lack of slop, and the diff locks are quite fun to work.
always enjoy your videos John, thanks. I'm still on the hunt for one of your HV500V2 servo's for my trx4 bronco :) Ah found one in stock at rpphobby! (great driving on that first pass, and love that laugh at 7:49 lol)
I didn't know you were making videos. How does that set up compare to what we tried to do with my ESC? You probably don't even have that old relic lol. I subscribed and will be looking forward to more videos.
Hey there :) I'm not sure where your ESC went off too. In a box somewhere at my house. Startup is far better than anything else besides the old Quark ESCs, if you remember those.
Hannibal guy here used to live in Columbia, it seems like every landscaped drain has that white rock up here. Its terrible on the black window stickers.
On a serious ? Can this set up put out a faster than walking speed on 4s with the 1800k ? Can't wait to see a comparison vid with a kratos SIx motor. Could be a flop. Could be the,new standard on crawler motors. Their servo making a splash but the shv500 has pretty much set a bar and has the name HH standing behind it. But for reAl 3 brotherarc need to send out a kratos six. Not only to you but Tekin and castle also. Need to put their money where their mouth is lol
Best video I’ve seen showing why the diffs work for crawling, lock, unlock......love the revolvers whine
Glad you liked it. They are more useful than I originally thought.
Should have this feature for drift car :)

That's a sharp Carhartt jacket. That vehicle is pretty cool. I didn't even know these exist and they look like a lot of fun.
Great video and I loved how you talked about the driving pointers as you drove. This was helpful and almost a class on how and when to lock and unlock the drivetrain. Very good stuff!

You laughing and having a good time is what it's all about. Wish more people near me got it.
Glad I can have fun at work :)

I have a programming vid on here somewhere that is just what you need.
Great video, love the rock set up.
Thanks :)
Would you consider a good replacement micro Servo for us. Be nice to have micro Holmes survey depend on.
sure thing

Awesome video nice rock course 👍👍
You got the trx4 dialed in nice.
look like the diff lock control is very important to crawing, need to know more obout diff lock

Being new to the RC world, this may be a silly question: are they m/t or a/t tires?
I would say they look more like a m/t

Thanks Charlie :)
I love those wheels but can't find them on the Vanquish website
I've had them quite a few years now I think. Probably discontinued.
btw, you have me sold on a Revolver. I didn't think this kind of creep was possible on a sensorless. I think I may order one
VP and klrs. John ain't playing around. Fatalities for everyone lol

Great video Brother ..Thank you !🤜💥🤛
Would be nice the TRX4 have some ARB Airlocker "pffft" sounds every time you shift the lockers ha ha.And a diesel sound too ha ha!
Hannibal guy here used to live in Columbia, it seems like every landscaped drain has that white rock up here. Its terrible on the black window stickers.
I can't find silver KLR tires anywhere.
Blues are pretty dang good too, and wear much longer. Was thinking of swapping out the rears to blues so they don't hook so quite so hard.
