- Hang with the Martians while we upgrade our TRX-4M Bronco and Defender with wheels and tires from Treal and Injora, then go on a test run to see if they work for our setup. Will the upgrades take our RC crawlers one step closer to being the best crawlers ever, or will they work at all? Let's find out together!

Great video. Try adding Injora shock mounts and brass wheelbase extenders. If it goes up wheels need to go OUT. 😃
Use a utility knife to trim out the bumper, were the tow shackles go, so you can get clearance for pin and screw driver. I have white bronco and love it, and all my injora upgrades lol

Great video. I have the same wheel and tire set-up on my Grey Defender. Looks good dude. if you peel that sticker off the rear plastic tire cover you can unscrew and take that off. Then mount the old tire to the back. That's what I did and it looks way better IMO. And I got those D rings and couldn't use them lol need to grind the bumpers a little.
Thanks for hangin with us, homie! Are your tires getting stuck under the body? That’s what happened with mine 😩. I made some spacers to try and help, but they just made the Defender more top heavy.
@@dirtmartians3534 yeah mine does the same thing unfortunately. And the Defenders are just real top-heavy to begin with. A larger shock might give you the height needed but now that body is up there. I think the Broncos have the same rubbing issues with these tires. I see people are removing the fender flares to help. Not sure what the fix is without changing the tire to something not so aggressive.
I put mud slingers on my defender. I knew they would rub a bit, but I didn’t care. Love the way they look and perform. If they bind and rub enough maybe they will wear down and it won’t happen anymore 😂😊. Can I ask where you are? Awesome terrain!!!

I took off the flares in one piece , instant tire clearance and more flex for free , and you can put them right back on if you want

I put the same wheels on my blue bronco to try them out , they look good on the white one , I have the brass ringed ones they work great , the defender looks good too

i also have the defender(orange), and have just a little bit bigger tires on beadlocks as well. Thet rub when truck is twisting. Im going to try bigger shocks first, and hope my Tippy, thats its name, does better. But great video, love the location!

Best thing you can do for these trx4ms is put a better esc in them. Mine crawls better on stock gearing than one with low range gears and the stock esc. Obviously you'd need a replacement reciever as well. I used the stock axial scx10ii esc, got the option for 3s 😅
Niiiiice! That’s an awesome idea. I’m thinking about grabbing two more rigs and mod them specifically for crawling, and just keep these two for trail rides. Best of both worlds. I’ll have to keep this in mind when modding. Thanks for hangin with the Martians!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
You can drill holes lower in your shock tower to mount your shocks to. That will lift the truck. You will need to use a spacer to keep the shock/spring from rubbing the chassis
That’s an awesome idea! I’d just be concerned that my drill holes will end up uneven 😬
or just dont be cheap and buy adjustable shock mounts

Fair i forgot these trucks havent been out long. But if in spending $150 on a 1:18 scale truck im not drilling a hole in it if i can avoid it
Did the toe hooks not work because the bolts were too large? I heard that you have to drill out the mounting holes in a bumper a tiny bit to make them fit.
Yep! On the Defender, the holes don't line up quite right. A little bit of drilling to reem out the holes should do the trick. On the Bronco, the mounting points are recessed into the bumper, so you can set the shackles in place, but you can't get the bolts in. Thanks for watching!
@@dirtmartians3534 I see what you mean about the Bronco. I got them to work just now by putting the shackles in place and then squeezing in a short piece of mechanic’s wire (a short piece of a tiny nail would also work) that was just the exact width of the gap in the bumper where the bolt would normally be. If it’s just the right length, it wedges in place and works good. Sort of hard to explain, but I can send you a picture if you want.
I got some Injora tires and they are shorter. The part number is=T1005. I got them on Amazon. I also ordered some Injora aluminum wheels, but I have not got them yet. Thoughts?

if i were you i would get the treal wheel spacers and cut off or just trim down the big fenders on the defender
That sounds like a great idea! We have a couple solutions we're gonna try before we mod the body. If those don't work, I think we'll have to perform a little surgery lol

i went for scale size on my defender, just need to downsize the obstacles. I feel like the defender looks odd with big wheels. Makes sense on the bronco.

Lift kit is free, mount shocks to the frame instead of the shock towers..done.

Get the Injora Swamp Stomper tires, they work well and are smaller.
We ended up going with the Injora S3 All Terrains, and they’ve been awesome! I do plan to do a crawler build for these, tho. I’ll have to look at those Stompers for sure! Thanks for hangin’ with the Martians!! 🙌🏾👽
@@dirtmartians3534 Okay! For solid surfaces such as stone, they are certainly good. Now I do a lot of trail riding with gravel and mud, so a more open tire pattern is needed, like the Swamp Stomper.

What is the best tires for land Rover defender 110
The 1/10 Defender is an awesome truck, but we don't have it just yet. Sadly, we don't have a good opinion on tires for the 1/10 scale. We're only rockin the 1/18 scale right now. Thanks for watching!
