This old Vietnam veteran is not ashamed to say that this song makes me weep. Still love my country, still believe in who we are, and we should never forget those who gave all.
I weep with you, and I am still young. Whether a Soldier, a Sailor, an Airman, or Marine... We were all young once. Now we leave it to those who will hopefully take up the bastion in our stead and continue the fight. Semper Fi and thank you for what you've done for this country and myself. God Bless you sir.
This is actually about a 16 year old farmers son from Cromarty Scotland who fell at the battle of loos in September 1915 having lied about his age to enlist. He was in the Black watch. That's what my grandad told me about this song .
It's not it's about a Sergeant Mc Kenzie of the Seaforth Highlanders, he was from Moray in Scotland and was killed in action at the Battle of Arras, trying to defend an injured comrade, he was bayoneted to death. It was written by his great, great grandson, Joe Kilna MacKenzie, who was a founding member of a Glasgow band called Clann An Drumma meaning in English "Children of the Drum". It was originally a poem which was put to music. The poem title being "the Ballad of Sergeant Mc Kenzie". Sergeant Charles Stuart Mc Kenzie was killed in action on the 9th of April 1917 and is buried in the Highland Cemetery, Roclincourt in Pas-de-Calais, alongside other men from the 51st (Highland) Division...rest in peace boys...
My dad was in 2nd Bn Black Watch (Canada). He went to Korea in 53. He went over to fight and ended up as a Peace Keeper. He never talked about what he saw over there.
This song means a lot to me. I am a 100% permantly disabled Veitnam vet. I have been like this since June 1972 and have never been ashamed one second or less. I will take my Purple Heart, my jump wings, and my pride to my grave.
Little bit of my blood is Scottish but I’m also an American and I’m joining the military for the the fallen and the families that been through darkness by terrorist and talibans even if I get ptsd
Anyone thinking that they’re ‘American’ by birth needs to read the 14th Amendment very, very closely. And then read the definition of ‘United States’ and ‘person’ under 28 U.S. Code 3002
well spoken. well spoken indeed. i wish more people would realize this. you can be proud of your heritage but be true to the country that raised you. stay safe brother
My father just died last week, he was almost 90 years old. He was in the US Marine Corps. He fought in the Korean War and was involved in the Chosin Reservoir conflict. I miss him already, I will miss hearing his stories of his days in the Corps. It is like muscle memory, I keep thinking I can see him again, go to his house, call him on the phone. But no, he is not there. I miss him so much......I am going to move in to his house and live there. I have his Purple Heart and other things from his time in the Marine Corps, Rest In Peace Dad, you have earned it......love you.......
Dear Linda, Ur text regarding ur Dad, really touched my heart. I miss my Dad too, so I get it. Two weeks ago, my heart reminded me that I miss my Dad...I cried. Dad and I believed, that in Valhalla, honorable military gather to talk of their exploits. I'm sure my Dad and urs have met. Being a Veteran of Vietnam and The Storm, I hope to meet ur Dad and see mine again.
What happen to America, I would say this I will fight for America to bring back the honor the fallen men and men who fought to form America. For freedom and justice for all.
My Daddy was a Green Beret in Vietnam and did some very heroic things. He gave to this amazing Country. He loved this Country. He just went to be with Jesus on 2/8//23. He was my HERO.
He is all our hero...acknowledged or not along with all his brothers in arms.. horrible how so many people these days don't realize just what gave them their freedom they take for granted. It's a price we can never refuse.. no matter the cost it's one of the few things worth the ultimate price. His courage bravery and service are to be honored, revered and most of all remembered. I'm thankful for all the Veterans who have answered the call of duty some make it back but all leave a piece of them behind. Heros brother all of them are.
My grandad served in WWII, USMC, he was on Okinawa, he was 15 and he too is my hero.... He passed 02/14/92, I was 9 years old, I am 40 and still think of him often, and he has always been with me. My condolences your father has left this world but he will always be on your heart.
@@muff.t2780 We can't know if "there are any more like this" We have nothing to really worth defending now but the true believers. Even WWI was a Central Bank created war where both American Britian banks loaned money to both sides. Money to help kill our own. Death to the central bank and soon! Our world depends upon it.
@@muff.t2780 There are still soldiers like that... Our society just no longer values them.. Even kids in Ohio are not taught about the Story of Roger Young... Sad
I am the son of a Viet Nam vet who made it home. I came home from Desert Storm. My son has returned from Iraq and Afghanistan (3 tours) so far. Currently traveling 2 days after Memorial Day to visit him at Ft Benning where he is a Drill Sargent. This song always touches my heart.
35 years ago, 37 men died on the USS Stark. I listened over the satcom radio as the entire situation played out. From the warning to identify to the call for help. The sound of the voice of the young Officer of the Deck as he called for help will never be forgotten. Here’s to those brave men who died on May 17, 1987. May they be granted Eternal Rest.
Oct 12, 2000. USS Coal, The blast ripped a 40-foot-wide hole near the waterline of the Cole, killing 17 U.S. sailors and injuring nearly 40 other crew members, melted my brothers to their racks. The payback was sweeter than I could have ever thought. Those cowards will die a thousand deaths, along with what family they had.
@Chris Holland - It’s about every young man, in every trench, behind every barrier or sandbag, in every war or conflict, in every era, everywhere. All of them. Try to pack up your elitism long enough to realize that once someone creates art and releases it into the world, they permanently lose any ability to dictate what it means to anyone who encounters it. This lovely work has obviously been encountered far and wide, and has come to mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. Every war is different, and every war is the same.
My father M.J Mendoza sgt Army, he passed 12/23/22, I dedicate this song to him, and all who put ur life on the line for the USA. Thank you all for your service. Stay strong my friends.salute
This song never ceases to crush me yet fill me with a sweet sad pride. God Bless All my fallen Brothers and Sisters. You are Never Forgotten Warriors 🇺🇸🙏
Crush is the only way to describe it............ Fallen but not forgotten ALL who have throughout our history paid the price to ensure what our founding fathers envisioned I served throughout the worst years of Vietnam and lost friends and my father (served 8 years following 30 in the USN/MSC) Vietnam finally claimed him almost 10 years to the day Saigon fell Cluster cancer stemming from 8 years of exposure to Agent Orange
@CountryGirlLife964Ever oh there was much more than agent orange. There was chemical agent black, blue, and green. But agent orange, deet, and paraquat used. All toxic af.
One of best friends was buried there after XMAS several years back. Ralph always told me yelling was only for combat or a fire, my mentor who was what my father is not, died a few years after his retirement. Agent Orange the gift that keeps on giving, and taking.
I am leading the honor guard for my grandpa who served next week. Including presenting the flag to my grandma. I’m extremely nervous and worried I won’t be able to keep my bearing. But also excited and proud that she wanted me to take the command
I’m a Vietnam veteran, and I belong to a squad of other veterans who preform a Soldier’s cross ceremony at veteran funerals. I am very proud & honored to be part of it. Sometimes we do the ceremony in conjunction with some active duty personnel, one funeral had a bagpiper playing this song & a Master Sergeant singing it, as a person of Scottish blood, I’m not ashamed to say I shed a tear. There’s something about the song that is very powerful & pulls at you.
This I will have sang at my Funeral. I truly believe us Warriors are a part of God’s Army. And I will sit well in my grave knowing I did my best no matter what.
For my Father; Wilson, Kenneth C. SN; 1064067 USMCR Chosin, 1950 No Boot Camp for Reserves, only his monthly drills, and 2 2 week summer camps. Wounded 3 times, plus severe frostbite of his. He was awarded the Bronze Star w Bronze V, for Valor. He was one of the first Americans, to face the Chinese Communist in battle. They were always outnumbered 5 and sometimes 10 to 1. Every member of his fire team got hit, but no one died. He told me "that was the miracle." He died, in his sleep at age 84.
@Jon Hillard Thank you Jon. There were nearly as many American killed in 3 years, in Korea, as 10 years in Vietnam. Thanks for ur service Brother. I too, am a Vet...Vietnam and the first Gulf War. Take care.
I served in Afghanistan and Iraq. I lost friends and colleagues. I feel a deep connection to those who serve(d) , those who died and those who survived. I am permanently disabled, but this powerful sense of kinship helps. Most of us didn’t care about the politics. We cared about serving our nation and protecting/helping the innocent caught in the crossfire. This song and these images touch my soul.
I am 69 years old now. I spent 20 years in the United States army, I was just a medic. After retiring from the army I went to college and became a licenced mental health provider. I worked at the Bellingham Washington vet centre with combat veterans and victims of trauma for 19 years. I can tell you that across-the-board the men who were in battle against other young men who were in battle typically had a high rate of respect for their enemy. I think maybe one of the things that helps us heal from such things as combat is the genuine respect that we have for our adversaries. It was a true honour to listen to the stories of those men who served in World War II as my father did. It was an honour to listen to the stories of the men who served in Korea, gosh they had it rough. Is the men and women who served in Vietnam the men and women who served in Iraq and Afghanistan Somalia Malawi Mali they all deserve to have their stories listened to this is how we help them heal to hear what they've been through and welcome them back welcome them back genuinely as people who served in the harshest environments with the grossest tasks at hand And survived. God-bless the ones who did not survive on any side give them honour that they deserve.
I have to admit that this song brought me to tears. I'm first generation American as my parents came to the US in '72, and the RED WHITE AND BLUE runs through my veins, I am so grateful for the freedoms we have here and thankful to all those who gave their lives for this great Nation. Proud to be an American!
Tomorrow marks Memorial Day 2024 and I have found myself here. It tracks. God bless all the service men and women who laid so costly a sacrifice upon the alter of freedom so the we may know the American Dream. Rest in eternal power warriors.
Vietnam Veteran, Canadian by birth, American by choice, when I was at the wall, saluted the best of the best, especially those from my unit. "We shall never forget"
They would not understand… I was a soldier then an air marshal after 9/11 for 21 years… my one ASAC was in Delta and was going to get some new ink but couldn’t decide. I said get” No Matter What, Fight to the End… a newbie had to ask what does that mean? We just walked away… sad they do not understand sacrifice for something bigger than you….
I'm 30 and I understand this society is making me more and more aggressive because of people not giving a shit and repeating history this whole world needs discipline and it's a disgrace what they do to veterans and also the lies they get told fuck the government
US Army vet here 92-96 My old man served in Vietnam and he has always said he loved serving beside Aussie Special Forces he said they were badass tough frickin warriors the lot of em...a couple pals of his from Melbourne taught him how to shoot n play darts lol....i have a pair of one of those bloke's dungarees in my dresser that he traded a carton of Marlboros for lol....they used to fit me when i was a little thicker a few years back.Cheers brother.Make a trip to Florida USA there are loads of Aussies n Kiwis here.I teach long range rifle work to a few of em. Keep those rifles n shotguns hidden down there my friend!Shame what happened with the liberal government disarming ya.
All about 'common ground' John, common ground - whether standing, fighting, or in the ground. No profession of any kind transcends 'life and death' like being a WARRIOR .... you can go to any cemetery in the world and you will KNOW who the warriors were.
Godbless those who Serve. May God hold those who gave everything, so their brothers and sisters could live, close to hand... for they Serve again, eternally in his Army.
HERE is The Savior YaH The Heavenly FATHER HIMSELF was Who they Crucified for our sins, NOT jesus, and “HERE IS THE PROOF” From the Ancient Semitic Scroll: "Yad He Vav He" is what Moses wrote, when Moses asked YaH His Name (Exodus 3) Ancient Semitic Direct Translation Yad - "Behold The Hand" He - "Behold the Breath" Vav - "Behold The NAIL"
This is a tune taken from an old Scottish Gaelic song. We fought the Romans and English for hundreds of years and still stand. Unfortunately weakness has crept into the new generation and the experience of loss and death are alien to them. A new and ungrateful generation rule now and respect has been lost. Respect to all brothers an sisters. Fight on. An edit. Though sung by a Scotsman, this song has been adopted by the U.S and you know what, it serves all of us well. When we're in the ground, we'll see no sun. Money, religion or whatever you want or have will mean nothing. Live your life well and love if you can. Forget all this new shit being forced upon us. Lay me doon, I'll no be afraid.
Your thinking of the picts, they got genocided by the Norse. Scots are Norse, Gaelic and a little of the picts that joined Gaelic clans. Mcdonald one of the largest scottish clans is cadet branch of a cadet branch of a royal Norse house, Uí Ímair. The old Norse were somewhat allied with rome. We don't even know the Picts real name.
After three combat tours and nine and a half years working law enforcement, I would like this played when I pass, so that my son and daughter understand the love, the sacrifice, and the meaning behind everything we had to do.
4 overseas deployments including Iraq in the wonderful spring/summer of 2003 and a 25 yr retired law enforcement officer. Like you, I've seen stuff that would make a normal person a mental patient. My brothers and sisters in both uniforms are my family and I would give all for them. Thank you for both of your services.
Marine vet. This song and winter born are 2 songs that never fail to make me cry. They explain the how and why of military service .Why we are so proud of serving and how we serve to protect that others will not have to suffer. That when we go into the ground we can do it with the pride the we carried on the honor of those who went before who stood for whats right knowing the price. My greatest fear for my country is not the politicians who were always ass hats, but that it is difficult to find anyone under 40 who understands what service is much less why its necessary.
I was there and I still live those nights where I see tracers coming at me and I can't do anything..then looking over and seeing where a round found its target.
My family has fought in every war since the beginning of America, and in every war, we have lost someone. This song brings a tear to my eyes and yet instills a sense of pride.
we have fought for america since ww2. every generation at least one of us goes. we must come together in these times and stop the evil taking our country.
Mine fought in the French Indian war. We are from South Carolina, originally. Salleyville I believe is my American Origin. Mine also fought in the Civil War, on the Confederacy side, WWI, WWII, and after that, no one no not one, fought in a war. They all talked smack about our kin folks, but fell into the bs hippy movement or the liberals got into their head, I ried to get into the Armed Services, passed the MEPs written test with a 96 in 1988, yet my momma convinced me I had asthma ( thanks dr. Spock and chronies) and I told told the MEPs Drs that I had asthma, which was bullshit looking back, so I was asked to give a DR.S release, which I could not give, because I was not asthmatic, it was in the brain washing of my momma. I wish I had never listened to my momma. I could have do e more for my countrymen.
my family did the same. i am from belgium. my family foi ught in the resistance.... up close and personal. without bombing the country to hell... no disrespect to your family ofc...
No words can define what I feel when I hear this hymn, God Country Duty, Always Thankful and Forever Grateful for those who rest on the slopes of Arlington, the Argonne, Normandy American Cemetary, Luxembourg, and the list goes on for miles. I'll always be at war in my mind but dream of a day where there will be real lasting peace.
My grandfather was a tunnel rat doing Vietnam. Enlisted with his friends and he was the only one who returned. Shot once. Was in a jeep when it exploded and heavily damaged his leg. Never gave details but said he had serval kills. With all that trauma and witnessing the worst in humanity he still had the strength to have a smile on his face daily and loved his country and his life. No one would’ve blamed him if he was so grouchy old man who hated life but that wasn’t him. One of the greatest men I’ll ever know. He passed away from cancer related to his exposure to agent orange and the VA tried saying it wasn’t from that. My grandmother just won the case against the US military and they finally took responsibility for his death. Not that any of that matters to anyone we’d rather just have him still with us. Love you forever Bumpa
To my brothers and sisters who have worn the Military Uniform of United States 🇺🇸 and her allies..I Salute you All Pray I meet you in that Great getting up Morning meeting our King Jesus in that Eastern Sky as Gabriel sounds the Trumpet... Fair thee Well Fair thee Well...
John, fellow veterans and patriots .... thank you one and all for your service and sacrifices. Stay strong in spirit and faith. Let the music and images remind us of honor in service to Nation. All who served gave.... some gave all. Remain faithful and true to our Lord, Nation, family communities, and oaths. Army 29 years. White Bluff TN. God bless.
I'm currently serving with the 101st Airborne Division (AASLT) 2ND Brigade Combat Team. This is our motto and I'm still learning about what those who came before me truly sacrificed.
English Translation Lay me down in the cold cold ground Where before many more have gone Lay me down in the cold cold ground Where before many more have gone When they come I will stand my ground Stand my ground I’ll not be afraid Thoughts of home take away my fear Sweat and blood hide my veil of tears Once a year say a prayer for me Close your eyes and remember me Never more shall I see the sun For I fell to a Germans gun Lay me down in the cold cold ground Where before many more have gone Lay me down in the cold cold ground Where before many more have gone Where before many more have gone In memory of Sgt. Charles Stuart MacKenzie Seaforth Highlanders Who along with many others gave up his life So that we can live free We will remember them
Sgt MacKenzie's sacrifice stands as a testament to brave men of any race , nationality, or creed (I'm a proud countryman of Charles Stuart MacKenzie of the Seaforth Highlanders) . Leaders start wars. Brave common people fight them.
When I was growing up all my friends talked about their dads being at Normandy or in the Pacific. My Dad talked about his time in Panama and partying. I was ashamed of him. Then one time after work during the summer I turned 18 he said lets get some beer. We went to a bar and had some beer. Then he looked at me and said I can not believe I made it back. I thought from Panama. Then I found out my Dad flew 37 missions on a B-17 as a waist gunner and a radio guy. We went home and he showed me his pictures. I felt ashamed and proud. I did 8 years in the Army from 81 to 89. Got out and joined the Guard in 2000. Did two deployments to Iraq. What felt great when I came back was him saying to me how proud he was of me. RIP DAD.
I dedicate this to my Uncle Robert. He served as a Marine in Vietnam from 1967 - 1972. Ive been told stories about him serving over there, from my Uncle himself, i like listening to his stories, They are pretty damn cool, He still has both of his guns he served over there with, An M-16, and his 1911, he dont bring them out too much because he says they remind him of his war days, He was born on September 12th 1950, he will be 75 this year, i can only imagine what him and his men went through in those 5 years he was over there, he retired as a Sargeant. His tours of duty were up in 1972, he was 25 when he came home, when he got off that plane he was called names, spit on, and cussed at, all for doing his job, He went on to tell me that after the war he had flashbacks, and it fucked with his head. If you somehow see this uncle bob, i was talking good about you ya old fart! I love ya!
“WE WERE SOLDIERS” Film 1st Major Battle of Vietnam War vs Regular North Vietnamese Army-Idrang Valley‼️🙏😔 Blessings for the fallen and their FAMILIES🙏❤️🥀
I seen and own that movie this song gives me chills. I knew many who fought in Vietnam,Korea and ww2,and ww1. God bless all you served and fallen and their families.
This song was used in We Were Soldiers, about my sister BN 1/7 1CAV in the first engagement of the Army in Vietnam. I had the pleasure of meeting the Col the day after I graduated basic training. Nothing but love and respect.
Many of my friends were part of the honor guard parked side by side as he was taken to Benning for burial. I lost the photos. I hope to find his stone there at the cemetery I cleaned during detail week before jump school in 1979.
For all those that watch this and are Veterans I want to tell you Welcome Home and my deepest condolences to your brothers and sisters that fell and did not come home with you.
Rest In Peace to those who just died in Afghanistan and may god give strength to their family as the deal with the fact that their loved one is not coming home. God bless America 🇺🇸
DANCING IN THE GRAVE YARD Aren't we always playing in the graveyard or just biding time? Often green like a pasture, always waiting places to rest in the here after Oldest game in town trying to stay on the upside of down, many thoughts on final days to varied to count the ways, from basic or sublime We stay as time ticks away, daily drifting on the edge many bound by some religious pledge will our final words be ours or pleasantly passed on by some unknown pastor? Not always a plan or death in the first degree no odds on a final decree, set thoughts aside and be free, no test for the final cut be it sudden or divine Many memories and thoughts hover over all those plots, simple and silent, flecks of color from flowers add life, so silent if we listen do we hear our pain or their laughter Fountain of sorrow won't wait until tomorrow, will we take in its beauty or be drowned in it, golden faucet doesn't flow with poison water, no time to redesign Many Worry about falling at the time of their calling, r.i.p. rest in peace, or r.i.p. repelled into purgatory, read a page or a big book never know that final chapter Will we take in its beauty or be drowned in it, no need to close your eyes set aside what you despise, why hide under the clouds when you can grow in the sunshine Mark time as a saint, still pass with a faint, we make the mark not the mausoleum or in a potter's field, use the meadow and flowers to become a dancer Life as a gift, count it as a win if we understand, feeling it as a joyous occasion, we are left as simply human, learn to balance the pain often our biggest gain Destiny not always in our hands, to many ways left unexplained be it day or night, today or tomorrow, can't run away, fate always finds us no matter how much we discuss or live silently or have an enhancer Are we ever ready for a giant wave to take it all away or prefer to drift back into a safe eddy? The sky is filled with redemption while the ground takes all with little exception R.C.
You are not mourning them. You are mourning your loss of them in your life. Those who do not grieve a great loss like the loss of brother in arms or other loved ones have no soul. Mourn your loss for it is yours. But celebrate their lives and sacrifices. There is no greater love then to lay your life on line for people you will never know. Every day I celebrate the lives of my brothers that have gone much to soon. Rest well brothers for I will continue to stand the watch. I will see you again when it is my turn to return home. (sad i have to include this statement but.) Just because I did not use a female pronoun does not mean they are not included in this sentiment . When I served Women were not allowed in combat arms so I have never known the loss of a sister in arms. I speak from my experiences and losses.
@@Eng2BCapt ....Indeed, the honor of mourning a fallen Soldier is the opportunity to boast their life as a friend, a brother or sister, and most importantly a Soldier whose courage is second to none......and so my tears roll knowing their sacrifice is irreplaceable......
I weep for the passing of comrades, and for the failures of those who govern nations who make it necessary for soldiers to have to die. They did not fail us, we failed them/ And so the cycle goes...we ignore history, we allow selfish people to have positions of power and the brave are sacrificed. Yes, celebrate the brave, and mourn their loss at the hands of far lesser men.
Freedom isn't Free, we are Free because of the brave and those who sacrificed their lives for us. It's about loss and honoring those losses. Sometimes it's easy to forget that Memorial Day weekend isn't just about picnics, parties, bbques and the unofficial start to summer. There’s no sacrifice other to someone than our selfless U.S. military veterans. I’m exceedingly grateful for the millions of veterans who have devoted seasons of life to preserving our freedoms. And this weekend I’m especially mindful and honor those who have given the ultimate measure of devotion by sacrificing their lives for the sake of our nation. Put your American Flag up in front of your house/yard and be proud to be in the USA! GOD BLESS the USA, GOD BLESS the world...
What most watching this don’t realize is the fact that we are all currently in the midst of a information war. We all need to be steadfast in protecting the liberties that all who fell before us stood. We now carry this burden on us daily but most choose to do it with their eyes and ears closed. Everyone deserves peace, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Unfortunately the Marxists who are masters of deceit, lies, subvertion, and hate, and their allies the satanic billionaires who want to bring about an one world goverment are determined not to allow peace, liberty, and law and order.
“We the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, with so little, for so long, we are now qualified to do anything, with nothing.”
I served during the cold war in Germany during the 80's. Never had to endure what my fellow brothers did. I have the utmost respect for you my brothers.
You served , you have my respect , you had the courage to sign up , put that uniform on and serve our Nation, be proud you have done what only a tiny percent have done , I salute you and all who serve and all the Vets and families! I served in Viet Nam & Germany.

Grandfather died today, Red one in Vietnam and participated in operation fishhook. Pancreatic cancer got him. Now he’s with his brothers seemed the most fitting song today. RIP PaPa Mike ❤️
I remember being young and I watched We Were Soldiers with my Pepaw a Vietnam Veteran. He had tears coming down his face and I did not understand why until I was older and listened to this song again knowing the lyrics and I had tears as well because I understood what he was sad about even though I could really never truly understand his pain. Thank you Veterans for all you do and have done to keep our nation safe.🙏
When my pops died he was buried in a veterans cemetary and the 21 gun salute and the sad sounds of the bagpipes still make me cry to this very day 45 yrs ago....
As a Army Veteran, I'm proud to say I served my country. This song always reminds me of the fallen brothers that served our country and given all they had. God bless this nation.
Honor all who served... Never forgotten. Thank you to all who served past and present from the son, nephew and grandson of veterans. God bless you all!!!
This old Vietnam veteran is not ashamed to say that this song makes me weep. Still love my country, still believe in who we are, and we should never forget those who gave all.
Welcome home friend.
Welcome Home Brother , Never forget.

@@LeChatNoir-z8h I knew it was his grandson that recorded the poem set to music.

Dear Linda,
Ur text regarding ur Dad, really touched my heart. I miss my Dad too, so I get it. Two weeks ago, my heart reminded me that I miss my Dad...I cried.

Being a Veteran of Vietnam and The Storm, I hope to meet ur Dad and see mine again.
Pass his memories down to other generations.

So.. we should've invented a war to harden our children...? No one deserves war.
This song is sung in Scots which is dialect/language of Old English/Modern English so it's not Gaelic its Germanic and Anglo

I love ya!

Oldest game in town trying to stay on the upside of down, many thoughts on final days to varied to count the ways, from basic or sublime
We stay as time ticks away, daily drifting on the edge many bound by some religious pledge
will our final words be ours or pleasantly passed on by some unknown pastor?
Not always a plan or death in the first degree no odds on a final decree, set thoughts aside and be free, no test for the final cut be it sudden or divine
Many memories and thoughts hover over all those plots, simple and silent, flecks of color from flowers add life, so silent if we listen do we hear our pain or their laughter
Fountain of sorrow won't wait until tomorrow, will we take in its beauty or be drowned in it, golden faucet doesn't flow with poison water, no time to redesign
Many Worry about falling at the time of their calling, r.i.p. rest in peace, or r.i.p. repelled into purgatory, read a page or a big book never know that final chapter
Will we take in its beauty or be drowned in it, no need to close your eyes set aside what you despise, why hide under the clouds when you can grow in the sunshine
Mark time as a saint, still pass with a faint, we make the mark not the mausoleum or in a potter's field, use the meadow and flowers to become a dancer
Life as a gift, count it as a win if we understand, feeling it as a joyous occasion,
we are left as simply human, learn to balance the pain often our biggest gain
Destiny not always in our hands, to many ways left unexplained be it day or night, today or tomorrow, can't run away, fate always finds us no matter how much we discuss or live silently or have an enhancer
Are we ever ready for a giant wave to take it all away or prefer to drift back into a safe eddy? The sky is filled with redemption while the ground takes all with little exception R.C.
Aye, sounds like General Patton.
Happy Memorial Day. Thank you vets for your service

Lest we forget. RIP. Miss you both.
Amen!!! Folks don’t realize what lies ahead!!! God help us all!!!
AMEN YOU ARE SO RIGHT
Police are racist killers. You don't need a gun...call the police.
Unfortunately the Marxists who are masters of deceit, lies, subvertion, and hate, and their allies the satanic billionaires who want to bring about an one world goverment are determined not to allow peace, liberty, and law and order.
That song still gives me chills.

“We the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, with so little, for so long, we are now qualified to do anything, with nothing.”
This is the greatest quote about modern war I've ever seen.
