Cowan is my favorite small town. The earliest settlers arrived in the Cowan area in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The home of one such settler, William Russell, served as the Franklin County Courthouse until the establishment of Winchester in 1810. Chickasaw Trace Park is another Maury County gem. When I bought my drone, Chickasaw Trace Park was the first place I went to practices flying. Here’s a throwback to Fourth of July past. On a rainy 4th of July, I grabbed my OM-1 and my Mamiya 645 1000s and captured some images from celebrations in Columbia and Franklin. I had a fun time shooting Kodak Gold 200 with my Mamiya 645 1000s at the Sundrop Festival in Pulaski, Tennessee. I did have some disappointments with some missed focus shots. That was on me, the Mamiya performed flawlessly. I am looking forward to shooting more Kodak Gold 200 in the Mamiya this summer.

I finally shot the roll of Kodak Ektar 100 that has been sitting in my Mamiya since 2016. The lab told me that film can hold up well for up to 10 years if stored properly. With the results, I would agree. However, I did have some moisture damage on the film, probably from condensation. Overall, the Ektar images were not too bad. My oldest son has an interest in Buddhism. We visited the Buddhist Temple in Murfreesboro a few times years ago. He got to talk to some of the monks during one of our visits.
