Congratulations Ladies!!! What an amazing video!! Two of my friends and I are planning to bike from Pamplona to Burgos. From there we will walk to Santiago de Compostela. I really appreciate you creating this video of your adventures. Now, I can get a picture of what's in store for my friends and I. Thank you! Buen Camino!
NIce video. For those who want to do it in the future just say that it is quite possible to follow the hall walkers way with a bike. Maybe there are some uphills you have to push specially if your laugage is on. The downhills is a question of take them easy but possible.
Magic vid. It appears you were respectful of walkers! GREAT thing that - many cyclists were aggressive and you look as if you we decent. My wife was knocked to the edge by a cyclist's elbows. SO THANKS, let's hope you influence ALL cyclists with you superb attitude. After all, it is primarily a walking path. Keep cycling! Iain.
+Iain Dryden Thanks Iain. Yes the secret is definitely to respect the walkers. Unfortunately we saw many cyclists who just barged on...mainly locals I would say, and we did not like it because they give all cyclists a bad name. On the other hand there were a few walkers who were still grumpy even if we really waited patiently behind them..... It takes all sorts I guess. All in all we found a good balance.
There is also a largely separate cycling route, the Eurovelo 3, which follows roads and vehicular tracks and makes a lot more sense for cyclist to ride along.
Glad you like it. The route is so well signed that you only need a good pair of eyes to follow those yellow arrows, especially if you stick to the walkers' route.
Wonderful video, I'm looking to cycle next year but end June/July :( very hot I know. Did you take your own bikes or can we hire? Panniers? Own or hire as well? How much training did you do before hand Cos Roncesvalles to Santiago 11 days pretty good going? We have about 15 days and want to cycle to Finisterre....
+Lesley Van Zyl Thanks! We took our own bicycles and panniers. Re training we did try to cycle as much as we could on weekends but nothing spectacular. You should be able to do it in 15 days...not sure how many days it takes from SDC to Finisterre though as that bit we did by car :-) It's beautiful though!
Fuisteis por carretera, el verdadero camino sube por los Pirineos, primero 20 km de carretera todo subida y luego camino plano y bajada a Roncesvalle, debéis repetir la primera etapa.
Hi. Since we had a good idea where we'll be stopping we had done some homework about available albergues / hotels. We noted their phone numbers and always phoned the previous day if booking was allowed by the albergue. The parador of Leon/Burgos hotel we booked prior to our departure. We had the Eroski app on our phone which is fantastic for albergue info too.
MUY BUENO CHICAS ME GUSTO EL PAEITO DE UDS..YO LO HICE POR LA RUTA DE LA PLATA DESDE ALGECIRA Y ESTE ANIO HARE ESTER MISMO QUE ICIERON UDS ..GRACIAS POR EL VIDIO Y BUEN CAMINO
+Familia Yee. We took a couple of long cycling pants, short sleeved tops and a warmish cycling jacket. Weather usually starts quite chilly early morning but warms up drastically during the day. Wear stuff you can strip off. Full finger gloves are recommended. I didn't have any and since we started early every morning I got chilblains. For leisure wear we took a pair of combats (since they are lighter than jeans to carry), a summery top and used to wear flip flops. If the evening was cool we used to wear socks & our cycling shoes which were normal trainers and the warmish cycling jacket. The secret is carrying the least weight you can. We had about 7 kgs each including the panniers.
Thanks Michagrech for your prompt response! this information is so helpful! I'm assuming you did El Camino during April or May? thanks again for the tips! Buen Camino!
+Familia Yee yes I walked part in 2012 and cycled all of it in 2014. Both times in May. Spring is the best time to enjoy the outdoors I think. Hopefully May 2016 I'll cycle the Portuguese. Camino is the best experience ever.
Hi, we took 14 days from Roncesvalles to Santiago but we took it very easy. We could have done it in less but we wanted to stop in certain places. I think once can easily do it in 11 days especially the flat parts on the mesetas.
Very Interesting. Good Video. Cycling seems to cover "twice the ground". I have heard it is popular and can see why. Thanks for sharing
We cycled the camino from Pamplona to Santiago in May 2014, it was beautiful to see the known places and recall unique experiences. Thank you.

Gracias por compartir,buen camino.
I love the music and the video! One question: Did you use Google or some GPS to tell you turn by turn?
Glad you like it. The route is so well signed that you only need a good pair of eyes to follow those yellow arrows, especially if you stick to the walkers' route.
Well put, Mich. Buen Camino in your daily life!

Hi! I loved your video! I have plans to do El Camino in May. What kind or type of cycling clothes you suggest to carry?

Corrección:No es "Alto de Erro",es el "Alto del Perdón"
Hi! thanks for the video! i´d want to ask you, how many days did you need in to the way from Roncesvalles till Santiago?
Hi, we took 14 days from Roncesvalles to Santiago but we took it very easy. We could have done it in less but we wanted to stop in certain places. I think once can easily do it in 11 days especially the flat parts on the mesetas.
