    I have one of these bags and they are great. I have used it extensively for travelling and walks. You can modify it and, it takes a surprising amount of gear,because of that, If you are not careful it can become unexpectedly heavy.

    Tim as always thanks so much for the quick reply, i was only concerned with the center raincoat pocket size between the two bags. i have the Tolcat but it is slightly small for my needs so i am seriously considering the mobius 2.0o... the only maxped bag i would really like to get would be the sabercat....but good luck locating one... i stick with your reviews over the last years and havent gone wrong yet, please keep up the great work you do..

    I have a versipack. I put a janus extension pack on it and I love it. I use mine for hikes out in the woods and also a range bag. I use the strap to hold the bag on my backside in the wood so it doesn't snag on anything.

      I was a big fan of Maped, still like them but now that I discovered Vanquest I'd prefer that every time. Thanks for stopping by. Be safe out there.

    I use the S-Style for the same reason and absolutely love it! Unfortunately, mine is "Pre-Grab Handle" -- but I make due by grabbing the strap close to the bag when I need to. The thing is built like a tank which makes it real easy to overload! I'm bad to keep mine way too heavy for an E.D.C. Bag -- I'm really trying to do better though! BTW...It still looks brand new!

      Yeah we can really get carried away with the amount of gear we carry on a daily basis. I'm constantly adding and removing items. I do think I have it as stream lined as I can get it.

    love it man. great reasoning for choosing the S-Type. Most people would never think of that. I just ordered the Vertx Courier. Waiting on the shipment, and then i'll do a review.

    I wasn't too sure what that cup was so I looked it up. based on the pictures of the cup I looked at I would say yes, it will fit.

    Another great video! Thanks for the info! Agreed, would rather buy an American product if I could find one that was made as well at a similar price.

    Another reason to choose an S-Type VersaPak: In my case, I wanted to sometimes carry it with one of my GearSlingers when the need arises. So my VersaPak is on the left, I can still "sling" my GearSlinger around the right. Thanks for your review. :-)

    Nice Review!!!
    I also agree the body extra strap sucks , And it doesn't really fit me to well! (needs like 2-3 more " to it.

      I stopped using Maxpedition long ago, moved onto Vanquest products…far better quality. Maxpedition is definitely one of the OG’s in the business but their quality is lacking, they just can’t keep up companies like Vanquest as well as others. This video is seven years old, much has changed my friend. I do appreciate you stopping. Be safe out there.

    Nice Review. It was very informative. I have one slightly random question though. Do you know a gsi glacier cup will fit in the exterior water bottle pouch?

    I've been looking for a medium size bag for when I'm outdoors to carry essential items. Would you recommend this and if not, what?

      Nice! My wife uses a black versipack for EDC as well. Talked her into getting rid of the usual pocket book some time ago. Now working on her carrying a knife, multi-tool and a small light.

    Tim if you compare this bags center, large pocket, with drawstring top to the same pocket in the Vanquest mobius 2.0 , of these 2 pockets which is larger. thank you...

    • @GearReviewDepot
      @GearReviewDepot  6 років тому

      I would have to say the Maxpedition bag is slightly larger, but by very little. It's so close I would go with the Mobius just to have the better quality materials and better quality end product. Seriously, the difference is very little. If you need larger than that then I would maybe look at the Mongo bu that in my opinion is too large and far too expensive for the materials used.

    • @freddobbs9435
      @freddobbs9435 6 років тому

      Tim i agree with u on the Mongo, to large for what it is and looks absurd being carried..

    How would you say this stacks up to the Vanquest Mobius? Thanks

    • @GearReviewDepot
      @GearReviewDepot  7 років тому

      sablebush Look through my videos, I actually made a video comparing the two. It's not a bad bag, but I'd take the Vanquest every time.

    • @GearReviewDepot
      @GearReviewDepot  2 роки тому +1

      Not this particular Versipack but Maxpedition does make a few just like it. Personally I'd go with the Mobius 2.0 from Vanquest... much better quality.
