I dont get how Hope states we needed to offload BOTH Anderson and Minteh, as well as Ashworth for PSR, with a 10 point deduction expected!!!! That would be an overspend of around 60-70 mil with a 10 point deduction.......complete crap.

The Isak & Gordon talks were just a maneuver by the club, to soften the fans up to take the hit on Minteh & Anderson. The more I think about it the Anderson deal is good business for us, he'll probably never get to an elite level. Selling Minteh to Brighton over Everton or Forest was a mistake though, they'll be competing with us for European places, will be impossible to buy him back from except for £100m minimum, & probably negotiated a harder contract with either no sell-on clause or a very small one.

Good TTR update,again,Paul & Billy : NUFC wanted £20m from MUFC for Ashworth's 'compo' ,Sir Jim Ratface tried to 'lowball' us for £2-3m but it is now rumoured,has eventually paid up for £15m [rather than the reported 10-12m],so overall a tactical win for us ! 😉

I'm expecting a few big signings to come in during this transfer window. We've made money from the sales of Minteh and Anderson, and when you add in the Champs League and sponsorship money that's coming in, there's money available. No excuses for me, we need real quality coming in in certain areas.
If we can bring in Tomori or Branthwaite, Kubo or Chiesa & Gyokares or Solanke, it will be a good window.

Keepers are a lot cheaper and easier to find than outfield players so disappointed we have went so low with backup to Pope, Dubs better than the two incoming players so we are weaker than last season which is hard to do.
Well if ruddy is brought in to help the young keepers in coaching them well that mite no be a bad situation I think the owners are being very cautious with transfers because as we no the p/l are looking for any chance to screw us like some of the cartel want to do and by Ashworth you won’t be missed at the toon

PSR is supposed to be about financial prudence BUT history of the EPL shows that it's unnecessary. All it's doing is stopping clubs like ours from challenging the usual top 6.

I'm not normally one for conspiracy theories but I do wonder if all of this last minute stuff was caused by a deal falling though, previously. I could be completely wrong here but I wonder if the club might have felt that someone would likely trigger Bruno's release clause and there wouldn't be anything they could do about it; someone released the details of that clause at the start of the summer - that must have been either the club or the player's representatives alerting everyone to the fact that the clause existed, how much it was and when it would end. Is it possible that the club assumed someone like Man City or Real or PSG would come in with a 100 million quid bid on or before 24 June and were resigned to letting Bruno go? It's curious that there was no hint of the club doing any business with anyone until AFTER Bruno's clause lapsed. Then they were, seemingly, trying to flog everyone! As I say, I may be way off with this, it's pure guess-work, but it would certainly help to explain the almost indecent hurry they were in to sell anyone in the last two or three days.
