    Thanks for the excellent step x step procedure. My C5 Z06 just locked me out after 6 years of driving it. Stuck in parking lot for 1 hour reading the forums on how to unlock to get home. Violently turning wheel did the trick but now after watching this vid, just ordered this bypass from Amazon to install as per your instructions. Thanks again.

      Glad to help! Its not that bad to install, just take your time and then never worry about being locked out again!

      @@RacerXGarage Installed it this past weekend - following your instructions and all went as planned. Now can travel with peace of mind - at least as far as that goes. Thanks again for excellent how-to.

    Glad to see you & others making video's on this old problem. I bought my 1998 C5 14 yrs. ago and never had
    Service Column Lock message, Pull Key Wait 10 Seconds message and my Security light worked correctly. Until 2019 my Security light would come on while driving, but would go off after a bit of driving. Then it started staying on longer while driving. Then my starting issue began. Took it to an Electrical shop and the manager said he knew exactly what it was.
    They did the Module bypass
    and my car done fine on the drive home. No Security light, no Service Column Lock message, No Pull Key, wait 10 Secs. message.
    Got home and went to drive the car a short time later and it cut off backing out of my driveway. Tried to start it and it started right up. But had the Pull key wait 10 secs. message. Which I'd never had before. So i waited 10 secs. and tried again all seemed fine. But i called the shop to let them know. They told me they've never had a module to fail. But told me to bring it back and they would replace the module they put in. Got the car back the second time and still had the same issues, security light on while driving & Pull key wait 10secs. message. So i didn't call the shop after the again. Because i felt they didn't know what they were doing at that point. But this was just the beginning of my nightmare! Because my car began to not start every time. Leaving me stranded numerous times over the past 5 yrs. Even just a few mos. ago. 5 yrs. ago i didn't know about these common issues with the C5s. But since then I've watched about every You Tube video & read Corvette forums about these issues. And last week for the first time, I got the Service Column lock message. I'm so frustrated because I love my car, but I don't know what to do at this point.

      That stinks, sorry to hear you're having trouble with Modules. My only thought is to see if there was some way to un-program it from the BCM, but I am not sure if that is possible. Good luck, I really hope you find a long term solution!

    Man, that Z06 looks brilliant. Nice find. If the car still has the CAGS active, Compliance Parts has a great kit for that as well. The LMC5 and CAGS defeat were the first two things I did to my 2003 C5.

      Thanks so much! I am absolutely in love with the car. I think the CAGS is ok, but may look into it just in case. Appreciate the heads up!

    That's strange... thought only 1997-2000 C5's had this issue?

    • @RacerXGarage
      @RacerXGarage  7 місяців тому

      No, the steering wheel lock effects all C5's. There was a recall I believe previously so maybe that only impacted certain years, but even on the Compliance Parts (Manufacturer) shows 1997-2004 on their LMC5 description page.

      @@RacerXGarage All C5's with manual transmissions; GM rectified it for automatics from 2001. GM did several recalls (all using the same number), none of which were fool-proof.
