Just wanted to say thank you, thank you for posting this. I tried the LM5C un-locker but couldn't get it to work, however, your method worked perfectly!
Honestly you saved me. I have a cracked targa top and went for a nice drive yesterday. Parked the car outside and boom steering column locked. I followed your directions and thank goodness it worked because its supposed to rain, so pulled it into the garage. Thanks again.
Wish I knew this before I put my lmc5. My car stranded me at the valet 2x where I had to leave the car and have it towed. Only a corvette had these problems. Ps after installing the lmc5 I actually got the pull key 10 seconds message and service steering lock one time after then install. Only once in 9 years though.
Hello, I have a problem with my automatic C5, it starts fine but when I put D and press the accelerator, it turns off, the engine dies, it won't let me move the C5 more than 2 miles.
Pulling the fuses does nothing. Battery being undone is the same thing. The wiggle unjammed the pin. The fix is a bypass kit and a pin removal for safety.
Hi, i have a question. When i remove the key, my steering is free to move on left and right. is not blocked. It s means that i have not the column block control? I ' m not the first owner of my C5, and i don't know if someone before me has resolved or bypassed the column block... Regards from italy
If you can turn the steering wheel more than a quarter turn when the key is removed, that tells me that either the column lock pin has been removed (in a recall) or a by-pass device has been installed to prevent the pin from locking the steering wheel.
@@JohnsGarageThere is a third option you missed. The lock system can fail in the UNLOCKED position as it did on my car a few months ago. For those lucky enough to have it happen, all it means is you clear a “service column lock” message each time you start up the car. I assure you, my column lock has not been disabled nor has the locking pin been removed. It just doesn’t actuate. I am slowly getting around to troubleshooting it and believe my column lock relay has failed.
Hey John - Same issue you were seeing and same make/model/year Z06 as you. Are you saying that you haven't see the "Pull key wait 10" error code again after doing this?
DO NOT !!!! REPEAT DO NOT DRIVE A VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION !!!! YOU COULD INJURE YOURSELF OR OTHERS. there is no controlling the vehicle if this happens while driving. The fix is FREE FROM CHEVROLET.

You don’t even need to remove the pin. Complianceparts makes LMC5 takes care of the problem. Takes 20 minutes.
Immediately worked thank you
Thanks for the information very helpful 😊
Glad it was helpful!

Did pulling fuses even help?
Yes, i tried disconnecting the battery and that didnt work. Pulling out Fuses did
Thanks John, worked at first try
Excellent!
What if you're pin is already out?
Thanks for the information
What is 23 25 29
Is that a recall issue with that car that GM takes care of?
What year is the car
My Z06 is a 2002 model year.
Thanks will try it

That is correct. I have not seen this issue appear again.
Pulling the fuses don't do a damn thing!
So, maybe you didn't need to pull the fuses?
Spends 10 minutes telling us about the meaningless velcro removeable tabs, doesn't say what those 3 fuses are
Do you have an owners manual? DUHHHHHHHHHH! It takes 30 seconds to look up the fuses. Jesus you are lazy!

Is this a fact man? Im having this issue right now !!!
Lame video, why not just show the permanent fix installing LMC5 kit, it’s 50 bucks? Would’ve only taken 5 more minutes.
🤣🤣🤣 unhook battery, sane results
Unhooking the battery is not the same.. would not work on my C5 had to pull the fuses...
