Nice job. To connect your your stacked legs, either put a metal strap between them or a piece of wood and screw into each one. I am afraid that if you don't, it might detach. You might also find tubs that fit beneath without the need for drawers. They will be portable for moving gear in and out. Just a thought! Good travels.

Love your get up and give it a go attitude to tasks, and your hands on with the doing it, but you could have made it so much easier for yourself.. Don't know what you would call it over there but in Scotland their called dwangs or noggings, basically cut bits of wood to the correct size, which will be fitted at the top of the upright bed columns, to connect the columns together, to give the columns more strength and rigidity.. UA-cam won't let me add photo's to describe it better.. Keep smiling gorgeous..

    • @anitasimmons3599

I am going to do the same positioning with my bed when I get my van (put in rear because I am only 5'3"). However I am keeping it simple with plywood and basic legs. I will drill small holes in it for airflow. I love that you removed all the seats! That seemed like a pain in the butt to remove them but i bet you are so glad that it is done. for those giving your negativity over the the added weight - clearly they didnt see your previous video where you removed all the stow and go seats. it will even out weight wise. and who cares. it is your van! not theirs.

I am in my 6th west coast winter in my van. When you get your drawers in, there will be very little air flow under your bed... even with dry air heat. Under your mattress, I suggest you have a boat bed liner... I just can't remember what they are called as of this writing. They look something like a dishes scrubbing but hard plastic so air flows thru it.
I used 2x2 slats to make the platform. And still use a pad under.
