The same exact metod applies to other bmw's too. I used to do that on my E87 BMW , I even have uploaded video on YT like 7 years ago.
RS true, even my old E36s used to do it :)
Can I also use this secret menu as an obd sensor? Because recently my F20 116i displays a "drivetrain" warning and reduces power.

Thank you for the wonderful video. Is there a possibility to add Digital Speedometer ? This is one of the functionalities that I miss in the BMW vehicles.
Hey :D Thank you for the kind comment. You can have a digital speedo on this car, but, it needs to be coded to the car. I may have to buy a special coder to help me make special coding videos. I just need to find out which is a good one :) I would like a digital speedo too :D
@@mattsbeamer Bimmercode app and bluetooth obd2 adapter( ICar Pro BLE 4.0) is all you need .
Ive done many things like tyre pressure and temperature display, digital spedo and many more:)

It’s a very useful feature that I’ve used since my e36s :) cheers :D
I also found that on the cars screen you can measure oil level, tire pressure, service info such as what needs done.

I don’t like the fact I’m going to have tk dish out £135 (cheapest I could find) to have it serviced when I know it will hardly need any work done probably next tk nothing!

Thank you! Can we activate temperature indicator permanently? I mean I cant do this while driving when I wanted to look at the temperature of my car. Another thing, can we activate horn on unlocking or locking car?
Kemal İncekara hello mate, to the best of my knowledge you have to keep unlocking this menu each time to view the temps. It's such a shame in my opinion.
I THINK with the beeping you need to get someone to do some coding, to activate it. I think ones this code is in the system then an option will appear on the idrive to allow you activate or deactivate the chirp. My car being a basic Russian one doesn't have the alarm or idrive, so I am unable to test it for you. Sorry. Thanks for the message :) take care
Oh you can activate the temp gauges when you are driving (well sat at the lights for a while) the engine can be running :) I needed to do this whilst driving to my dealer once, after I smelt coolant. Luckily for me it was the chemicals they used to clean the roads :)

Supercars in England hello buddy. Not rude at all. I wouldn’t say I get many views especially compared to others.
All I do is type as many useful keywords as possible, but not to spam. The videos I made are a different audience, not many subscribe unfortunately but it’s a video that won’t go out of date, unless all the cars have disappeared and is of no use. Keep up the good work buddy, it’s what I am trying to do but struggling too. Hopefully I’ll make a video which gets noticed by someone. Shmeee was in the same boat once :)

I'm buying a used one that has no nav. My local dealer can upgrade the console to include nav with a new receiver thing in the glove box, but I am not sure it's worth the money. It IS weird for a 2012 car not to have!
Wait, at the moment where you did the system check, all the things your car has will light on to see if it's okay. So I have the F20 116i Urban Line, and if I do the system check on mine, in the middle the Lane Departure sign lights on too, and I also have a camera on my windshield. But I don't have the button to activate the Lane Departure.. Why does my system check show me that I "have the Lane Departure mode" but somehow I think I can't use it..
Possible Uploads hey, it maybe worth decoding your vin number, so see what extras are on the car. Maybe it can be retro fitted and coded into the system.
@@mattsbeamer I read two days ago that you can buy packages from BMW and one those packages included the lane warning system. The thing now is that if you buy it, they would input those cameras and stuff into your car, but I already have the camera and you can also see that lane departure sign on my monitor inside the instrument cluster but it doesn't light up. It only lights up if I do the system check. So I also thought what would they do to my car if I want it to be activated? Will they code something, would they insert a button to use it? Because I mean.. I have those electronical stuff in my car already. I think they would take cash from me to code it to be able to use it
My menu doesn’t change for the 4 option, just stay on the green color things:/

I believe if you want to do things like this, you would need a coder type system. Some people say Carly will do things like add a digital speed onto the screen :) I have never tried it thou. :)

Hey, on my F20, I don't have i-drive, so all I need to do on my car, is to go through the radio settings to adjust it all. Have you tried adjusting it through the idrive settings? :)

How do you find owning a car and driving in Moscow ?
Ilya G hey, driving in Moscow isn’t as bad as you would think. You just need to be careful of those who don’t care about other users. I was nearly crushed by a lorry who over took me and forgot I was there. There are some other instances too.
Petrol is very cheap compared to my home country England. It’s about 25 pound to brim the tank. The insurance I have is the top insureance, so I pay a lot because I am a foreigner. The basic insureance thou that everyone must have is very cheap at I think 100 pound. The police have been nice when pulling me over (it’s a normal thing that they do checks in Russia).

Lefteris Gaming I had to check other cars out, after seeing that comment. I looked at a few other cars while walking about Moscow and they all had their Vin located in the windscreen. A few of the BMW’s of the same era don’t have them located there. I will have to look into it now :D

did you make sure the door are closed :) sometimes that stops it working. Make sure the ignition is on too :) Any issues, send a video to mattsbeamer@mail.ru with what happens :) cheers matt

BIA & IUS my car has been very good, the only issue I had is with the injectors becoming dirty. The fuel in russia isn’t that good, plus I’m usually doing about 40kmh. My mpg around the heavy city is about 28. But it should be a lot better out of town.
All my car needed was the injectors cleaning. It’s best to buy a car that’s has a good service record.

z anthony lol :D unfortunately in Russia it’s an optional extra. I believe back home in England it’s standard. I was pretty gutted when I went to look at this car, but the condition of the car is much better than most other cars in Moscow. :)
It is pretty good that this car is basic. I have nothing draining the battery, so if I don’t drive it for a few months, it’s more a less full of charge. All my previous BMW’s in England used to drain the battery (except the old e30s) :)
