Thank you so much for all the support so far, it’s appreciated more than I can put into words. Lets make 2025 the biggest year yet and go for 500 subs 🤙
I noticed on the main screen there was an Android Auto option but no one ever shows it or does videos of AA, always just Carplay. Would be good to know the functionality of AA.
I was told when I bought this unit that it’s good for both Apple and android devices, I use an iPhone myself so I’ve not tested the android side of the unit. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help this time
@@amfareed30 no need to press anything mine loads up with the CarPlay screen each and every time and you can cycle to the normal cars menu anytime you want and it will still play the audio till you choose to change the source. I hope that helps
I wonder if the aux connection is really needed. I don't mind if I can't use the "hey google" option. So when you leave it like it is and don't connect the aux. Will it still work? As long as I can still make calls over bluetooth and use the speech function from the idrive. Or do you need to connect the aux for having spotify songs or waze navigation sounds?
I’m no expert by any means but I believe that you need the aux cable in for the audio fromSpotify etc! in my case I left the original mic connected and have both the car and the CarPlay connected by blutooth so when I want to make a call it automatically uses the cars blutooth and mutes the CarPlay audio and then switches back as soon as I hang up. I hope that makes sense?

Nice video..but when you get in the car and turn it on, does the screen shows apple carplay right out or you need to press something?
