It would have been nice to hear the sound quality for more than a brief few seconds. In that very important sense the review is almost totally lacking. Part of my goal in owning a jobsite radio is to actually listen to it and not simply finger its functions.

Is there room to fit one of those craftsman to DeWalt battery adapters in there with a DeWalt battery? I have versastack cooler with tstak drawers/boxes. Looks like McDonald's, but works awesome. Can't find a tstak radio anywhere.

What powers the radio preset?My old Dewalt radio uses AA batteries when I go to use the radio the batteries are dead.
I appreciate your thoughts on this. I'm considering buying my first jobsite radio as I begin painting my house next week, but also would like to use in the backyard when I have gatherings. Presently I have no tools, but I lean towards jobsite radios for their resistance to dust and water. Kind of torn between this one and the similarly shaped Dewalt ToughSystem radio.
It was suggested I swap this out and try a new one.. that maybe the antenna isn't set right in the unit.. those thing happen..
it seems to be about the same unit at the $300 DeWalt unit.. with the four speakers and the sub inside..
From Menards, the unit is $175 right now with an 11% rebate if you are near a Menards.. or to buy online you would get the same deal.
I think I will swap them today and try again.. the sound was SO much better than some others I have tried (but I haven't tested that $300 one from DeWalt yet).
@@Weekendhandyman For my purposes I would rarely use FM. It would not surprise me in the least if the internals roll off the same assembly line in China as the DeWalt. DeWalt actually has two of these, but the more recent one is advertised a little less. I've found the new one as low as $220. I features a color screen like the Craftsman, has four woofers, one active subwoofer, and one passive port. Slightly more powerful at 55W, but the real reason it appeals to me is that I'm a little more likely to invest in DeWalt cordless tools over Craftsman and the newer DeWalt radio will charge 12, 20, and FlexVolt batteries.

Where was the ac charger located when you bought it? I think mine didn't come with the cable to plug it in, nothing else in the box and it's not in the speaker
