@@basecampchrisFYI, your diet is not good. You eat mostly carbs and sugar. The beer is also pure sugar. If you want to stay active look into the Keto way of eating with Dr Ken Berry. You can loss the big belly and fix any big issues like arthritis, pain, diabetes, and so many issues.
First time seein your channel but I have to say I really dig the jeramiah johnson music you put in, probably one of my all time favorite movies since I was a kid. THE NOSTALGIA! Love it.
Hi Chris, I have watched this video many times. The beautiful view and the landscape is so peaceful and breath taking! And the way you incorporate that soothing music makes one to cry. I love it! This has to be your BEST ONE YET!! Thank you, Bless you! Have a fantastic day! Liz from Ontario, Canada
Hey Chris, you forgot to tell about the noises you've heard in the night. Maybe it was Bigfoot ; ) Oh, btw, the scenery is unbelievably beautiful ! You're lucky Chris. Because you can go to places like this in your country, me not :( Because i live in the Netherlands and we have almost NO natural places nor any large woods here. It's really sad :( That's why i almost never go out of house. Because there's nothing to go to here, at least not for me. It really sucks ! Thanks for your videos Chris and take care : )
Another will done video and photography! Thank you for your service to the outdoors community. Keep hiking, tell us more stories, have a beer for us, and stay safe.
Great to see a overnight and cook Chris , really enjoyed the Jeremiah Johnson music, that was cool !!! Thanks for the Jim Bridger stories, very interesting !!!
❤ ❤❤ this is my dream perfect way of life, How beautiful . Wish i could go camping and exploring with base camp Chris!!! The little chuckles he does to himself cracks me up every time!!! Brilliant!!😂❤
Chris, i agree this meadow is prime territory and majestic beauty of almost lost to a developing country which we must seek to preserve for following generations
Great video Chris! Pretty cool how you match beers with your hikes and I’m always looking forward to see what you’re going to cook. Great historical recipe, wow. Keep hiking!
I also really enjoyed the mussical score with this vid. Chris. Keep up the great hiking/backpacking. Looking forward to some mountain fishing thrown in .
Chris, another great video! Of all of the camping videos that I watch on UA-cam, yours is by far my favorite. Potato soup looked delicious. Am already looking forward to your next video.
A recipe straight from John Muir! That is awesome! Definitely going to have to save that one! The original Jeremiah Johnson soundtrack made for some super cool (and appropriate) background music. Good stuff!
Chris, your videos just make my day. Excellent cinematography, editing, and content. They really are a joy to watch. I am a mountain man at heart, always have been. Cant wait for a catch and cook trip!
Hello Chris, thank you for sharing this very informative video. Great story about Jim Bridger. All the best of good things for you. Stay safe and healthy out there. 🤗
That potato soup looked amazing and will definitely try that one and enjoyed the story was very interesting, glad your beautiful meadow is still there it's a very nice place there
Great scenery! Great stories. We live in Colorado- we have a restaurant called The Fort on US 285. They serve a drink called the Jim Bridger! Keep up the great stories. My kids and I love your great story telling. As always, keep doing what your doing and be safe - keep your powder dry! We loved the Jeremiah Johnson music (my 8 year olds favorite movie), I appreciate your beer in the stream while you tell your stories!
I was up in an alpine meadow in the Loss Creek Wilderness in Colorado and it was my favorite part of my trip. So beautiful, and just knowing I was up 11,600ft was awesome.
Oh yeah, heckova location! Interesting music selection, had an American West feel to it. Had an amazing view at 26:50, could sip coffee & watch that a good looooong time!
Thanks for a great video, watching this on June 17, 2024--excellent. I have been watching a lot of your videos as I just stumbled upon them. So I am watching as many as pop up on my UA-cam, and have emailed you too. These are just exellent videos. I really enjoy these too, just as much as the "scary" ones and hope that you will continue to do these types of videos too. They are so enjoyable! Thank you! Bravo Chris!! You are a very unique individual and I appreciate your hard work!!
Hi Chris, love your vids and positive attitude, very uplifting. Good job with the potato recipe and Jim Bridger history, fascinating. Also wanted to mention a new stove model I have been using for 2 months and very happy with, the Fire Maple Polaris Pressure Regulator Remote Stove available from Amazon. It has a wide burner that would work well with your frying pan. Hang in there Chris, and as my Irish grandfather used to say, “may you go safely each night and day.”
I almost forgot my music recommendation since you are an artistic person “Ladies Talk Live Kiyo Sen” kind of a fusion jazz thing by Senri Kawaguchi’s (the drummer) group. Music and hiking make the world go ‘round!
I love listening to you. You feel me with hope that when my children are doing their own thing, I'll be able to go hiking with my dog & have some adventures. I live in UK so not quite as wild as USA but there are amazing places here.
Love these videos Chris! You should think about doing some that explain what is needed when planning/taking a trip. It would be helpful to see what really goes into one.
I can't imagine any better background music for the Sierra Mountains. It gave me a chill hearing it. The Bridger story with pictures was great. However, I was waiting to hear what the noise was. You'll have to tell us in another segment. One of your best.
I have watched alot of your videos Chris and this was my far my favorite. You tied the narration, the music, the beautiful secery and all the history together perfectly. Thank you!!!
Omg you have to work in the morning!!! Gosh I admire your energy & enthusiasm !!! Also got me thinking about how ridiculously wrong I am living my life at the moment !!! 😄.
I’m a truck driver I really enjoy your videos while I’m driving listening to them that is and also the music is really nice I wish you would give the names of the songs that start your video and end them thank you
I LOVE HISTORY...My family did the DNA family tree and found out that Meriwether Lewis, is in our family tree. I always watched documentaries, as a child and still do. Read a lot of historical books. We all know that the schools are teaching this anymore. Sad. Thank you for the interesting information about Heroes of the West. They truly were.
Hey Chris! I grew up in Hat Creek, CA and live in Oregon now. It makes me feel so at home watching all of your adventures. Went to school is Fall River and know the owners of the brewing company well! I so appreciate you taking the time to share your adventures and stories with us. If you ever stop by in Old Station, check out JJ’s Cafe. I think you’d enjoy it. (:
I remember the coffee my parents would make while on camping trips, on an old sturdy Coleman stove. They had a nice sized porcelain blue with white speckles coffee pot that they just dumped in some coffee grounds and let it cook and settle and absolutely yum. They never let me drink coffee till I was about 14. I would collect nickels and stop in at the corner gas station and for 5 cents a cup I would buy 2 cups and drink them quickly as my school was just caddycorner of the station. My Mom never knew.😮
Hi, Chris! Love your videos! You are an awesome director and story teller! The beer review is a very creative component, as well as the camp cooking. Wasn’t Jeremiah Johnson the best western ever??!! And Robert Redford in his prime, OMG!! He’s an amazing human in more ways than one! Thank you so much for your entertaining and informative content. I’ll keep watching and hiking!
